The Gaza European Hospital being out of service increases the suffering of citizens
The European Gaza Hospital in Khan Yunis Governorate, south of the Gaza Strip, was out of service, after the hospital crews were forced to unload medical equipment and equipment inside the hospital, and evacuate the wounded and sick from it, after the Israeli occupation’s threats and “evacuation orders” that it issued to citizens in the eastern areas of the governorate and the Al-Fukhari area. On which the hospital is built.
Medical devices and equipment were transferred to the Nasser Medical Complex, about eight kilometers west of Khan Yunis, which has partially returned to work, despite the bombing, siege, and raids it was subjected to by the occupation forces months ago.
With the European Hospital of Gaza being out of service as a result of the occupation’s threats, citizens’ suffering in accessing basic health care increases, as the hospital was providing great health services in light of the hospitals in the southern Gaza Strip being out of service or partially functioning.
The Ministry of Health reported in its daily report that only 15 out of 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip are operating, and all of them are partially operating, and are facing a severe shortage of workers and medical supplies, including anesthesia and antibiotics, which makes health care workers struggle to save lives. Spirits.
About 500 health sector staff were killed, hundreds were injured, the Israeli occupation forces arrested more than 310 others, and the occupation forces destroyed 130 ambulances, during their ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip for 9 months.
The World Health Organization warns that the volume of medical supplies entering Gaza is insufficient to sustain the health response and that all medical evacuations outside Gaza remain halted.
Despite the assurances of international and international human rights organizations that targeting hospitals and the health system is a clear violation of the principles and standards of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, which guarantees special protection for hospitals and health centers during the outbreak of armed conflicts and wars, and that targeting them constitutes a crime against humanity and amounts to a war crime, the occupation continues. Its targeting of hospitals and health infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, in disregard of all international and humanitarian laws.
