West Bank: Israel authorities seize the vegetable market complex and the “garage” parking lot in Hebron
The Israeli occupation authorities officially announced their intention to seize the old central vegetable market complex, “Al-Hisbah,” and the “Garage” parking lot in the Old City of Hebron, in the south of the West Bank.
The Hebron Municipality stated in a press statement today, Wednesday, that the occupation forces informed it, yesterday, Tuesday, of the decision to seize the old central vegetable market complex, “Al-Hisbah,” which includes “Al-Ataq Market,” located in the heart of the Old City, and of its intention to add new floors to the existing buildings in market.
In conjunction with this step, which violates the powers of the Hebron Municipality and all international treaties, the occupation forces continue to announce their intention to build in the Osama School and its surroundings, opposite the “Ain Askar” area known as the “Garage” parking lot.

The municipality stressed the continuation of its legal battle and the follow-up of all files and cases until our rights to these properties are established and not harmed, pointing out that the municipality moved immediately to form international pressure on the occupation through the consuls and embassies of the countries sponsoring the peace agreements and treaties, to stop this piracy and assault on property and capabilities. The municipality appealed to the international community and all its institutions to intervene immediately and urgently to stop these ongoing violations and attacks on the municipality’s property and citizens.
