Israeli protests and street closures demanding an end to the war and a prisoner exchange deal
Protests began this morning, Wednesday, that saw streets closed in many Israeli towns and sites, demanding an end to the war on Gaza and the conclusion of a prisoner exchange deal.
The protests came based on a call under the title “Qatari Protest Day to Reclaim Abductees,” with organizers threatening to escalate their protest steps and calling for a warning strike tomorrow, Thursday.
According to today's protest organizers, the demonstrations are scheduled to extend today to 50 locations and towns in the country, in addition to a demonstration in New York.
The demonstrators demand an end to the war on Gaza and the return of Israeli prisoners and detainees from the Gaza Strip.
A march is scheduled to be held this evening, Wednesday, in Tel Aviv, with the participation of families of prisoners, leading to the entrance to the headquarters of the Ministry of Security in the city.
In Tel Aviv, dozens demonstrated at the Dizengoff Roundabout before closing the street in the city center for about half an hour.
Other demonstrators also closed Route 65 at the Karkur Junction, leading to traffic jams, while a demonstration was organized in Beersheba and another in the neighboring town of Mitar.
