Gaza is rapidly heading toward famine, and more than 3,000 children are at risk of death

The government media office in Gaza said on Tuesday, “Gaza is rapidly heading toward famine, and the occupation and the American administration are leading a conspiracy to prevent aid and goods from reaching our people,” calling for immediate and urgent international intervention to stop this crime.

The government media office added in a statement: “The specter of famine is now directly threatening the lives of citizens, which portends an increase in the number of deaths due to hunger, especially among children, as 3,500 children are now threatened with death due to malnutrition and the lack of nutritional supplements and vaccinations, which have become prohibited from entering” to the sector.

It continued: "The crime of preventing the entry of aid and food as a tool for political pressure by the occupation and the American administration has noticeably doubled the suffering in all governorates. Even markets and shops are now suffering from a drought of goods and commodities due to preventing their entry 40 days after the complete closure of all crossings."

It called on the international community and international and international organizations to stand up to their responsibilities and call on them to take a courageous stance by imposing immediate and urgent international intervention to stop this crime. We also called for the opening of the Rafah crossing and the Kerem Shalom crossing, the entry of aid and goods, and an end to the ongoing genocidal war for the ninth month in a row.
