Netanyahu: Jerusalem will remain the eternal capital of Israel

Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that those he described as enemies tried in the past to erase "Israel" from the map, and that Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran are seeking to achieve that goal today.

Netanyahu also stressed that Jerusalem will forever remain the eternal capital of Israel, and its status will never change.

He announced the government's intention to work towards the prosperity of Jerusalem by passing many decisions related to the development of the city.

Netanyahu stressed that Jerusalem will remain the unified capital of Israel and will remain under Israeli sovereignty.

A provocative event in Jerusalem

Since Wednesday morning, hundreds of settlers have gathered in Bab al-Amud in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, in preparation for the provocative flag march.

The Palestinian News Agency reported that hundreds of settlers entered the Old City from Bab al-Sahira, carrying Israeli flags, and held noisy parties with dances to celebrate the anniversary of the occupation of Jerusalem.

The Israeli occupation army forces closed the streets of the Old City and the surrounding roads to vehicle traffic, in preparation for the settlers’ march scheduled for six o’clock in the evening.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli occupation army placed iron barricades on some streets and entrances, which hindered the movement of citizens, while allowing only the people of the Old City to enter.

Since yesterday, the occupation authorities have turned the city of Jerusalem and its old town into a military barracks, under the pretext of securing the flag march called for by the settlement associations.

The Jerusalem Governorate stated that "the march of flags in the streets of Jerusalem is an assault on the status quo in the occupied city, and a continuation of the occupation's measures aimed at Judaizing it."

It added, "Israel is exploiting the aggression against our people in Gaza to move forward with the Judaization of the Holy City."
