Israel recalls its ambassadors to Ireland, Norway and Spain

Today, Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Israeli occupation government, Yisrael Katz, ordered the immediate summoning of the Israeli ambassadors in Ireland, Norway and Spain to Israel for consultations, in light of the decision of these countries to announce their recognition of the Palestinian state.

Katz said: “Today I am sending a clear and direct message - Israel will not tolerate those who work against its sovereignty and threaten its security.”

Katz added: “The twisted step of these countries is an injustice to the memory of the victims of October 7,” as he claimed.

Katz stressed: “Today I am sending a clear message to Ireland, Norway and Spain: Israel will not go through this silently. I have ordered the return of Israeli ambassadors from Dublin, Oslo and Madrid to Israel for urgent consultations. This hasty step for these countries will have other severe repercussions.”

Spain, Norway, and Ireland announced official recognition of the Palestinian state, with the decision to be effective as of May 28.

The Palestinian presidency welcomed the decision of these countries, highly appreciating their contribution to consecrating the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination on their land, and in taking actual steps to support the implementation of the two-state solution.

The presidency affirmed that these countries have steadfastly supported the rights of the Palestinian people over the past years, and voted in favor of these rights in international forums, so that this initial decision comes as a culmination of these positions and is consistent with the principles of international law that recognize the right of peoples to get rid of colonialism and oppression, and to live in freedom, justice, and independence. .
