US Senator: Gaza can be struck with bunker-buster bombs instead of nuclear weapons
US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham renewed, on Wednesday, his incitement to launch more severe strikes on Gaza, using bunker-buster bombs.
Graham considered, in a post on the “X” platform, that this was possible “using 2,000 pounds of bunker-busting bombs,” and not necessarily nuclear weapons, as he said in previous statements.
The American Senator's words came in response to the Iranian Foreign Ministry's condemnation of his call a few days ago to use nuclear weapons against Gaza.
He said: "I support the transfer of weapons to Israel, which gives them the ability to destroy tunnels and bunkers," as he put it.
He added, "The use of nuclear weapons in Gaza is not necessary by using 2,000 pounds of bunker-buster bombs."
He reiterated his position that his country's decision to use nuclear weapons against Japan to end World War II "saved the lives of tens of thousands of Japanese and made it possible to avoid more than a million American casualties," he said.
The day before yesterday, Monday, Graham claimed, in an interview with the American channel NBC News, that Israel has the right to level the Gaza Strip to the ground using a nuclear weapon to end the military campaign, as his country did with the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the 1940s.
Yesterday, Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, in a post on the “X” platform, described Graham’s call to strike Gaza with a nuclear bomb as “a horrific matter that violates all international laws, norms, and human rights decisions.”
