Prisoners' Authority: 120 prisoners in Etzion detention are suffering from complex conditions

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority said that the Etzion Detention Center is witnessing significant overcrowding in all its rooms, and the number of prisoners detained there has reached one hundred and twenty, and new prisoners and detainees are admitted daily.

The Commission explained in a statement today, Sunday, that the prisoners detained in the Etzion Detention Center from various governorates of the West Bank suffer from complex life and health conditions, including cold, hunger, humiliation, daily attacks, storming of rooms, cursing, provocation, and blackmail.

The prisoners conveyed to the Commission’s lawyer the details of the terrifying Eid night, where they said: “The night of Eid al-Fitr is one of the worst nights that we have experienced during the past period. In the middle of the night, our rooms were raided while we were sleeping and without any reason. We were taken out to Al-Fura Square and forced to sit on our knees with our heads on the ground.” We were violently dragged by the soldiers, shouted at, and insulted with the filthiest and most filthy words. We were entered into the rooms, searched, and the mattresses and blankets they contained were thrown onto the floor, and the cold took hold of our bodies.”

It is noteworthy that the Etzion Detention Center, located between the Bethlehem and Hebron governorates, is located on the slope of a mountain and the cold area there is high, and it is close to an army training center. The center is only one section, and includes eight rooms and each room contains approximately 15 prisoners, and the rooms and the furnace contain dozens of prisoners. Surveillance Cameras.
