Netanyahu: “Military operations in Gaza will not take more than two months”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with Politico newspaper that "the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip may end within a month or two."

Netanyahu stated: “We have destroyed three-quarters of Hamas’ combat brigades, and we are close to the end of the final part of the fighting.”

He added: "This will not take more than two months... maybe six weeks, or maybe four."

Netanyahu also explained that "there will be no ceasefire during the month of Ramadan unless Hamas releases the remaining Israeli hostages", pointing out that "there has not yet been a clear breakthrough in the negotiations."

The head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, explained that Israel “has so far evaded giving clear guarantees, especially regarding the issue of a ceasefire.”

US Senator Bernie Sanders called on the White House to stop sending unconditional military aid to Israel, describing the war in Gaza as an “unprecedented crisis.”

US President Joe Biden also said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with his actions regarding Gaza, is hurting Israel more than helping it, which turns the whole world against Tel Aviv.

As the war in Gaza enters its 156th day, the Israeli army continues its intense bombing, while the tragic humanitarian conditions in the Strip worsen due to the lack of food and water, and an increase in the death toll with the entry of the month of Ramadan.
