Anti-Zionist Women: Israeli government exploited sexual violence to protect army operations in Gaza
A group of anti-Zionist American and Jewish women wrote a letter addressed to the Israeli and American governments, demanding an end to the use of rape and sexual assault as weapons.
According to the statement, the message was initiated by American Jewish women who are anti-Zionist. In it, they reject criticism of pro-Palestinian and anti-Zionist activists who failed to “condemn the systematic sexual violence committed by Hamas members against Israeli women and children on October 7.”
The signatories of the letter stressed that they "condemn rape and sexual violence regardless of the perpetrator," calling on Israel to "stop the genocidal massacre of Palestinians."
The signatories said that while they embrace their Jewish identity, they condemn "the actions of the state created in our name and born of massacre and mass expulsion."
While the letter states that the signatories believe the survivors, they consider Israel's response to be "military violence," as "the Israeli government has exploited sexual violence to protect IDF operations in Gaza amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas."
They criticized "the defamation of feminists, feminists of color, Arab feminists, and anti-Zionist Jewish feminists who criticize the war in Gaza and have lost their credibility as a result."
The letter was signed by Jewish and non-Jewish women. While the majority of signatories were Americans, other women were also represented among the signatories.
A number of them belong to the Jewish Voice for Peace, an anti-Zionist group that has become increasingly famous for its anti-Israel activism.
