Former Israeli PM: The attack on Rafah is a danger that we cannot bear.. Netanyahu must stop the war
The American "Bloomberg" agency quoted former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert as saying that the attack on Rafah would be "a danger we cannot bear."
Olmert said in “Tel Aviv” that Rafah “may be a step too far,” noting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must stop the war and focus on drawing up a plan that enables the Israeli “army” to leave the Gaza Strip and strive to secure the entry of international forces into the Strip.
It is noteworthy that Netanyahu stated in an interview with the American ABC, earlier, that “whoever tells us no to working in Rafah is actually calling on us to lose the war in Gaza.”
A few days ago, Israeli media revealed that Netanyahu's orders to prepare to begin a military operation in Rafah sparked many disputes between him and the Israeli "army."
Experts and commentators doubted Netanyahu's ability to achieve the concept of "absolute victory," which he has been repeating recently, amid accusations that he is mixing personal and war goals, according to Yaron Abraham, a political affairs analyst for the Israeli Channel 12.
This comes as Israeli losses accumulate in the Gaza Strip, amid an Israeli acknowledgment of the difficulty of eliminating Hamas, and that the movement is the one that “determines the rhythm of the war,” and an acknowledgment of the necessity of reaching a political solution in order to be able to release the Israeli prisoners, whose issue constitutes increasing internal pressure on his government.
