An appeal to reveal the fate of the child Hind and the ambulance crew in Gaza
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced - today, Saturday - that it still does not know the fate of the child Hind (6 years old) and the team that went out to rescue her in Gaza City, despite the fact that more than 110 hours have passed since the event.
The association said, in a statement posted on Facebook, “More than 110 hours have passed and the fate of our colleagues Youssef Zaino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun, who went out to rescue the 6-year-old girl Hind, is still unknown.”
The Red Crescent Society appealed to the international community "to intervene immediately to pressure the Israeli authorities to reveal the fate of the child Hind and the rescue crew."
It stressed that "international humanitarian law provides for the protection of civilians and workers in the field of health care and humanitarian work."
On Monday, an ambulance crew from the Red Crescent came out to rescue the two sister girls, Layan (15 years old) and Hind (6 years old), after they were surrounded by Israeli army tanks and soldiers, inside a vehicle in which they were with their family members, according to a previous statement issued by the association.
On Tuesday, a number of the association’s crews said, in a video clip posted on the “X” platform, that the location of the accident was in Gaza City, near the “Fares” gas station (west of the city).
The association also announced, on Tuesday, the death of the child Layan, when she was “talking on the phone with the Crescent’s crew, calling for help, while Hind remained trapped inside the vehicle surrounded by Israeli tanks and soldiers.”
During the past few days, the Israli army made a significant re-incursion into several areas of the Gaza Governorate, coinciding with the implementation of military operations and intense air and artillery bombardment, and requested the evacuation of residents from several residential neighborhoods.
