France describes settler violence as a "policy of terrorism"

France, on Thursday, condemned the acts of violence carried out by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, according to what was reported by Reuters, describing them as a "terrorism policy" aimed at displacing Palestinians, and urged the occupation to stop these attacks.

Speaking to reporters, French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anne-Claire Legendre said that about half of the 100 tons of aid that France sent to Gaza entered the Strip, adding that “Israel” does not have the right to decide who will rule Gaza in the future. She said that “the Strip "It must be part of the future Palestinian state."

These statements come after what the French newspaper Le Figaro revealed about a “diplomatic rebellion,” led by French ambassadors in the Middle East, against French President Emmanuel Macron’s bias toward “Israel.”

About 10 French ambassadors, in the Middle East and some Maghreb countries, had collectively signed a memorandum, last Tuesday, in which they expressed their “regret over the fall of Emmanuel Macron in the Israeli camp.” This does not represent the balanced historical French position towards the Israelis and Palestinians, and this memorandum is considered An unprecedented step in France's diplomatic history in talking to the Arab world, according to what was published by Le Figaro.

The newspaper explained, in an article written by George Malbrunot, that the memorandum was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential headquarters, and a diplomat described the memorandum as “not a simple matter, but rather it can be described as an opposition memorandum in which these ambassadors confirm that Firnas’s pro-Israel position at the beginning of the crisis is not understood in the Middle East.” ".

While 3 former French diplomats confirmed to the newspaper “Le Figaro” that this “collective approach is unprecedented on the part of French ambassadors in the Middle East,” and another diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs close to the protesters said that they “took up their responsibilities while they were united, and in their minds that this was the step.” "The first."

French President Emmanuel Macron said, following this memorandum, that France condemns “with the greatest possible firmness” the bombing of civilian infrastructure in Israel’s war on Gaza, on the first day of his official visit to Switzerland.
