Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam confirmed their rejection of the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land. This came during a press conference held by the two presidents today, Saturday, following President El-Sisi's reception of his Singaporean counterpart at the Ittihadiya Palace, as part of the official visit he is making to Cairo, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Egyptian presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy indicated that the meeting addressed updates on regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly the situation in the Middle East, where President El-Sisi reviewed the developments of Egyptian efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, facilitate humanitarian aid, and release hostages and prisoners.
He added that the two presidents emphasized their rejection of the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land. The Egyptian president stated during the conference, "I discussed with President Tharman the critical turning point and exceptional circumstances facing the Middle East, especially regarding the Palestinian issue, where we addressed the Egyptian efforts aimed at stopping the war in Gaza and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid in light of the worsening crisis faced by the Palestinian people due to the brutal Israeli practices, particularly in light of the expansion of military operations in the Gaza Strip."
A just and comprehensive peace and stability in the region cannot be achieved without granting the Palestinian people their legitimate rights.
