9 dead and wounded in the ongoing Israeli occupation bombing of the Gaza Strip

Nine civilians have been killed and others injured since dawn Sunday in the ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip. The humanitarian catastrophe is worsening amid continued fuel restrictions, a shortage of aid, and warnings of a growing threat of famine.

Local sources reported that at least five civilians were killed when the occupation forces bombed a two-story residential house in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip.

Two citizens were killed and others were injured when Israeli warplanes bombed the Al-Amoudi family's home west of Khan Yunis.

One person was killed and several others were injured when the occupation forces bombed a tent housing displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Yunis.

Medical sources reported that 52 citizens, most of them children and women, were killed in the past 24 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip.

52 dead since dawn: 5 citizens killed in an Israeli raid on Deir al-Balah.

Five civilians were killed and others injured Saturday evening in an Israeli airstrike on a commercial store in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, bringing the death toll in the Strip since dawn today to 52.

According to local sources, five civilians were killed and others injured in an Israeli drone strike on a shop belonging to the Abu Amra family in the Al-Hakr area of Deir al-Balah.

Israeli warplanes launched raids on the north of the town of Abasan al-Jadida, east of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, while Israeli helicopters opened fire east of the town.

Al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza reported that the area surrounding the hospital is witnessing heavy gunfire from Israeli occupation forces, threatening the safety of patients and medical staff and exacerbating the humanitarian situation in the area.

Israeli helicopters also fired at various areas in Beit Lahia and northeast Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, while Israeli artillery continued to shell the area.

Earlier, five civilians, including four women, were killed when the occupation forces bombed the home of the Al-Bayouk family in the town of Al-Fakhari, east of Khan Yunis. Two civilians were also killed in an occupation raid on the Al-Mawasi area, west of the city.

Ambulance and rescue crews recovered the body of a martyr from the Al-Masry family from under the rubble of their home, which was destroyed by Israeli airstrikes in the Jouret al-Lut area of Khan Yunis.

Two citizens were killed and two others were injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Al-Araj family home in Khan Yunis camp, while a woman died of wounds she sustained in a previous bombing west of Khan Yunis.

In Gaza City, four citizens were killed and others were injured when the occupation forces bombed a group of citizens in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of the city. Provocative marches by Israeli settlers in occupied Jerusalem

Settlers organized provocative marches in various parts of occupied Jerusalem on Saturday.

According to local sources, groups of settlers organized provocative marches in the Wadi Road area of occupied Jerusalem, while another group organized a march that started from the Hebron Gate and stormed the alleys of the Old City, featuring provocative singing and dancing, to commemorate the occupation of the eastern part of the city.

Groups of settlers also organized provocative marches in the towns of Shuafat and Beit Hanina, north of occupied Jerusalem, which included provocative singing and dancing.

Sources reported that the occupation police set up roadblocks and obstructed the movement of Palestinian citizens, coinciding with the settlers' marches.

The Arab Summit...and the dispersal of the Palestinians

Essam Abu Bakr

Essam Abu Bakr

Opinion Writer

The Sykes-Picot Agreement is no longer just a historical narrative. It has returned today with a new name: "Trump-Netanyahu." The new Middle East has witnessed radical transformations since October 7, with new equations emerging and imposing themselves on the political landscape.

Unfortunately, today there is no unified Arab nation, nor a unified Arab opinion. Differences are always the master of the situation, even among the Palestinians themselves, who are the first victims and the first line of defense for the Palestinian cause, and who are obligated to defend Palestine, not by choice. The Palestinian cause has declined significantly in recent years, to the point that it is no longer a priority for the Arabs. Every Arab country has withdrawn into itself and is drowning in its own political and economic crises, trying to survive amidst security threats and stifling internal conditions.

Arab peoples live amidst poverty and oppression, under dictatorial regimes based on coercion, censorship, and prisons. Freedoms are crushed, unemployment is on the rise, social concepts are collapsing, and religious norms are being fought against amidst a fractured social reality.

The Arab world continues to groan under the weight of religious superstitions, myths, and delusions, far removed from painful reality. Repressive laws prevail, and Arab societies are immersed in consumerism without producing or contributing effectively to modern civilization. The irony is that these peoples, despite their rejection of change in their societies, dream of emigrating to the West in search of freedom and rights.

Given this shameful reality for the Arabs, the decisions of the Arab Summit, which was attended by five Arab heads of state and absent from 17 Arab heads of state, regarding Gaza will be ineffective or even useless. Trump and Netanyahu may read them out of curiosity, nothing more, but they will have no impact on the course of events and will not be taken into consideration. Trump has previously rejected the Arab plan for Gaza, insisting on displacing its residents and stating that the plan does not address the reality of the Strip's uninhabitable status. The White House National Security Council spokesman commented on the final statement of the previous emergency Arab Summit held in Cairo, which approved a plan for the management and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, stating that Trump rejected this plan.

The White House spokesman said: "The Gaza reconstruction plan adopted by the Arab countries does not address the fact that the Strip is uninhabitable." He said: "The people of Gaza cannot live humanely in an area covered in rubble and unexploded ordnance." This means that Trump is still determined to displace Palestinians from Gaza, which means that his plan will continue as it is, without change, as if nothing has happened. The Middle East is changing, international power centers are drawing new lines, and the Arabs are not influential in the new equation.

The absence of Saudi Arabia from the Arab Summit, along with most of the leaders of the Gulf states, which is currently the main player in the Middle East, confirms that the decisions of the Arab Summit will have no impact.

What is happening today confirms that the Saudi presence in the political arena is no coincidence, but rather part of the "America-Israel-Saudi Arabia" axis, supported by Arab money represented by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. Other countries may join this alliance in turn, cementing a new reality in which they seek to position Israel as the leader of the Middle East, while America extends its direct influence throughout the region, particularly in Gaza.

For the first time, it appears that America will become a direct colonial power in the region, and Palestine is the epitome of this colonialism. Therefore, the absence of some countries from this power is part of the protection, so that they will not be partners in the future in eliminating the Palestinian cause and the Palestinians.

As for Egypt and Jordan, they may be forced to accept the new "Trump-Netanyahu" Middle East plan due to their dire economic conditions. Anyone who rejects the new plan will face political and economic pressure, possibly even military action. Egypt and Jordan are well aware of this, and may therefore accommodate American and Israeli demands without any attempt to resist.

Moreover, any other Arab initiatives will be nothing more than papers in the archives of history, because the Arabs, unfortunately, are no longer part of the regional or international power equation. Many of their regimes exist only because they implement the American and Israeli agendas, and any attempt at rebellion will lead to their collapse and the fragmentation of their already weak societies.

Although Gaza is part of the Palestinian fabric, they now want to strip it of its Palestinian identity and turn it into the "51st American state." This does not mean the absence of American influence over the West Bank; rather, it will be institutional, not sovereign. The West Bank is now known globally as "Judea and Samaria," and Israel will expand at the expense of historic Palestine, but without Gaza, which will become a separate entity under direct American control.

What is happening today is not simply a Palestinian-Israeli conflict, but rather a reshaping of the new Middle East according to a new equation, in which Israel is the preeminent regional power, America is the direct player, and the Arab states adapt to this reality.

As for the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, the Zionist entity does not want the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt or Jordan to be a final or permanent solution. Rather, it considers them merely temporary transit stations, and the ultimate goal is to disperse the Palestinians and later disperse them across various countries of the world, while granting them the nationalities of these countries so that they become "citizens, not refugees," thus permanently severing their connection to their homeland, Palestine.

What is happening in Gaza in terms of genocide and displacement is a repetition of the Armenian genocide and displacement model carried out by Turkey more than 100 years ago, where the Armenians were dispersed throughout the world and became citizens of the countries in which they settled, while they lost their actual connection to their original homeland and their homeland was completely eliminated, and this is what they want for Palestine.

Israel doesn't just target land, it also targets thought. The Israeli goal isn't limited to displacing Palestinians from Gaza geographically, but also includes fragmenting their minds across the world. Israel doesn't just want to get rid of the Palestinian presence on Palestinian soil, but also of the Palestinian mindset that is hostile to the Jewish presence on historic Palestine and that fosters a desire for resistance or revenge. Israel has come to realize that Palestine is not large enough for two peoples: the Palestinian and the Israeli. Therefore, it has decided to disperse them and spread them across the world. By dispersing Palestinians across various countries, including the United States and Europe, Israel seeks to neutralize future generations and weaken any nationalist tendencies that might threaten it in the future.

The Israeli plan is not merely about removing the Palestinians from Gaza, but rather about re-engineering their demographic and intellectual makeup on a global level, such that they become dispersed peoples who lack any collective power to regain their rights, most notably the "right of return for refugees" and the right to return to historic Palestine.

A child in Gaza dies of hunger, and the World Food Programme warns.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the death of another child in the Strip due to famine and the repercussions of the blockade, while the World Food Programme confirmed that tens of thousands of children are facing severe levels of malnutrition.

The ministry said that child Mustafa Yassin died of malnutrition and dehydration in Gaza City.

Two days ago, Palestinian Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan said that 29 children and elderly people had died from hunger-related causes in Gaza over the past two days, and that thousands more were at risk of dying from the same causes.

alarming number

Asked about previous press statements by a UN official about the possibility of 14,000 infant deaths without aid, the minister said, "The figure of 14,000 is very realistic, and may be an underestimate."

Abu Ramadan said that only 7 or 8 of Gaza's 36 hospitals are partially functioning, and that more than 90% of medical supplies have been depleted due to the blockade.

Course of events

He added that the information available to him indicated that between 90 and 100 trucks loaded with aid had entered southern and central Gaza. When asked whether any medical supplies were among them, he said his information indicated that only flour had arrived for bakeries.

These tragic incidents confirm the worsening humanitarian catastrophe threatening the lives of thousands of children and the elderly, amid repeated warnings from international organizations against the use of starvation as a weapon against civilians in the Gaza Strip, given the ongoing blockade and the collapse of the Strip's food and health systems.

World Food warns

For its part, the World Food Programme said that more than 70,000 children in Gaza are facing severe levels of malnutrition. The UN agency added that it is exploiting every opportunity to provide food aid, but that what is being provided is not enough.

He explained that immediate, safe, and unrestricted access is needed to provide aid to prevent famine and save lives.

The World Food Programme warned on Thursday that it is in a race against time to stop a full-scale famine in Gaza.

The World Food Programme said in a statement that the humanitarian aid that has reached Gaza is just a drop in the ocean.

The program's director in the Palestinian territories said in a statement to reporters that a small number of bakeries in southern and central Gaza supported by the program resumed bread production after trucks were finally able to bring in supplies from the Kerem Shalom crossing.

For his part, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food said that Israel is using hunger as a weapon against civilians and called on the UN General Assembly to break the siege and stop the starvation of 2.3 million Palestinians.

The Gaza Strip needs 500 trucks of urgent relief, medical, and food aid daily, and at least 50 trucks of life-saving fuel, according to a statement issued by the government media office last Monday.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 175,000 Palestinians dead or wounded—mostly children and women—and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced.

Peru opens investigation against Israeli soldier who participated in the Gaza massacre

The Hind Rajab Human Rights Foundation announced that the Republic of Peru has opened a formal criminal investigation against an Israeli soldier accused of committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

The organization filed a legal complaint—enclosed with documented audio and video evidence—accusing the soldier, who served in the Israeli army's combat engineering corps, of direct participation in the destruction of civilian neighborhoods in Gaza during the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza between 2023 and 2024.

"Rather than serving as a support unit, the Engineering Corps has served as the primary operational arm of destruction, systematically reducing civilian areas to rubble, razing entire communities, and rendering vast swaths of Gaza uninhabitable," the organization said in a statement.

Hind Rajab is a non-profit organization founded in 2024 and headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. It was named in honor of Hind Rajab, the Palestinian child killed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, along with six members of her family and two paramedics who attempted to reach and rescue her.

The foundation's chairman, Diab Abu Jahjah, commented on the move, saying it was not merely symbolic, but rather the beginning of genuine legal accountability. He added that justice is not an option, but a duty.

In its statement, the foundation considered Peru's initiation of a formal investigation into the evidence it had presented a significant development for international justice, affirming the importance of exercising universal jurisdiction, rather than merely recognizing it, when those responsible for international crimes are found within a state's territory.

This legal complaint is one of dozens of cases filed against IDF Combat Engineers, focusing on their role in carrying out Israel's genocidal campaign against the Palestinian population in Gaza.

The Hind Rajab Foundation concluded its statement by calling on all states—particularly those parties to the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute—to follow Peru's example by initiating legal proceedings against individuals implicated in the genocide in Gaza, who may fall within their international jurisdiction.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 176,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced.

Gaza government: The Israeli occupation continues to close the crossings and practice a systematic starvation policy.

The Government Media Office in Gaza said on Saturday that the Israeli occupation continues to close the crossings for the 84th day, preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, food, and goods, refuting claims by Hebrew media that aid is being brought into the Strip daily.

In a statement, he stated that "the Israeli occupation's deliberate prevention of the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip has disrupted vital facilities, most notably hospitals and bakeries, on which Palestinians depend for their survival."

The government office noted that "the Israeli occupation has shut down more than 90 percent of the Gaza Strip's bakeries, reflecting its 'starvation engineering' policy."

He stressed that "hundreds of thousands of tons of humanitarian aid have piled up outside Gaza and have been damaged and rotted as a result of Israel's months-long ban on its entry."

It stressed that the starvation policy imposed by the occupation, through the continued closure of crossings and the prevention of aid from entering, has led to the deaths of 326 Palestinians over the past 80 days, as part of the genocide it is perpetrating.

It highlighted that "the occupation is imposing restrictions on the movement of the few aid trucks that were allowed into the Gaza Strip in recent days, and is directly targeting the teams securing them, with six of them recently killed while carrying out their duties to protect the aid."

During the 84 days of the siege and complete closure, at least 46,200 trucks loaded with aid and fuel were supposed to enter the Gaza Strip to meet the minimum needs of Palestinians. However, in recent days, Israel has been promoting a misleading narrative claiming that it is allowing the entry of "aid," while the reality shows that only about 100 trucks actually entered, or less than 1 percent of the population's basic needs, according to the same statement.

In detailing the deaths during the 80 days of the siege, the office stated that "58 people died from malnutrition, and 242 others from food and medicine shortages, most of them elderly. In addition, 26 kidney patients died as a result of the lack of adequate nutrition and healthcare."

The government media office added that "more than 300 cases of miscarriage have been recorded among pregnant women due to a lack of nutrients necessary for pregnancy to continue."

The office called on "the international community and humanitarian organizations to assume their moral and legal responsibilities and intervene immediately and urgently to save civilians in the Gaza Strip from the catastrophe of famine by opening the crossings, allowing the immediate entry of sufficient humanitarian aid, and halting the occupation's policy of genocide against them."

On Friday, 80 countries said in a joint statement to the United Nations that Gaza is facing the "worst humanitarian crisis" since the start of the Israeli war of extermination on the Strip on October 7, 2023, warning that civilians in the Strip are at risk of "famine."

The Israeli occupation continues its systematic starvation policy against approximately 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza, closing the crossings to aid supplies piling up on the border since March 2nd. This has plunged the Strip into famine and claimed the lives of many.

Over the past few days, the Israeli occupation army has expanded its war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, announcing a "ground operation in the north and south of the Strip."

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has continued its widespread genocidal war against the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip, including killing, destruction, starvation, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

This US-backed genocide left more than 176,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, more than 11,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced.

Lazzarini: The proposed Israeli supply plan for Gaza will not succeed.

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, confirmed that the proposed Israeli supply plan for Gaza will not succeed.

"It is not possible for a humanitarian organization that truly respects basic humanitarian principles to commit to such a scheme," Lazzarini said in a post published by UNRWA on its Facebook page today.

He added, "I don't think such a model will succeed, and it also seems that this model was designed to support a military objective, rather than a genuine humanitarian concern."

Israel is seeking to impose an alternative mechanism for distributing aid through centers under the control of the Israeli military, which would exclude large segments of the population, particularly those with disabilities and the elderly, from receiving essential aid.

Israeli authorities eased their nearly three-month blockade of humanitarian aid earlier this week, but the United Nations believes the aid allowed in is insufficient.

Some bakeries in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, and Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, recently resumed baking bread using the flour they received. However, aid workers warn that the amount of aid arriving is far from sufficient.

According to the World Food Programme, nearly two million people are at risk of severe hunger and famine unless immediate action is taken.

The Trump administration begins implementing the lifting of sanctions imposed on Syria.

The Trump administration issued orders on Friday that it said would effectively lift sanctions on Syria, after President Trump pledged this month, during a visit to Saudi Arabia, to lift the measures to help the country rebuild after a devastating civil war.

The US Treasury Department issued a general license authorizing transactions involving the Syrian Interim Government led by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, as well as the Central Bank and state-owned companies.

The ministry said in a statement that the general license, known as GL25, "authorizes transactions prohibited under Syrian sanctions regulations, effectively lifting sanctions on Syria."

The statement added: "GL25 will enable new investments and private sector activities in line with the President's 'America First' strategy."

A statement from the US State Department said that Secretary of State Marco Rubio also issued a 180-day waiver under the Caesar Act to ensure that sanctions do not hinder investment, facilitate the provision of electricity, power, water, and sanitation, and enable humanitarian efforts.

"Today's actions represent the first step in realizing the president's vision for a new relationship between Syria and the United States," Rubio said, adding that Trump has made clear he expects sanctions relief to be followed by actions by the Syrian government.

The White House stated after Trump met with Sharaa last week that the president had demanded that Syria adhere to several conditions in exchange for sanctions relief, including requiring all foreign fighters to leave Syria, deporting what it described as Palestinian terrorists, normalizing relations with Israel by joining the Abraham Accords, and assisting the United States in preventing the resurgence of ISIS.

"President Trump is providing the Syrian government with an opportunity to advance peace and stability, both within Syria and in its relations with its neighbors," Rubio said.

Syria welcomed the lifting of sanctions early Saturday, which the Foreign Ministry described as "a positive step in the right direction to alleviate the country's humanitarian and economic suffering."

The ministry added in a statement that Syria is keen to cooperate with other countries "on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs. It believes that dialogue and diplomacy are the best path to building balanced relations."

Most US sanctions on Syria were imposed on the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and key figures in 2011, following the outbreak of the civil war there. Al-Sharaa, who was known as Abu Mohammed al-Julani, led the militias that ousted Assad last December.

The general license lists al-Sharaa, previously sanctioned under the name Abu Muhammad al-Julani, among the persons and entities now authorized to conduct transactions. It also lists Syrian Arab Airlines, the Central Bank of Syria, several other banks, several state-owned oil and gas companies, and the Four Seasons Hotel Damascus.

Trump surprisingly announced last week that he would lift sanctions at the request of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a major shift in US policy ahead of his quick meeting with Shara in Riyadh.

It is hoped that easing sanctions on Syria will pave the way for greater participation by humanitarian organizations operating in Syria, encouraging foreign investment and trade as the country rebuilds. However, the United States has imposed a series of measures against Syria, isolating it from the international banking system and blocking many imports, and the prospect of reimposing sanctions on a country could discourage private sector investment.

The United States first placed Syria on its list of state sponsors of terrorism in 1979 for its support of Palestinian resistance movements, and has since added additional sets of sanctions, including several rounds following the country's uprising against Assad in 2011.

Hunger, displacement, and the equation of despair and optimism

Mustafa Ibrahim

Mustafa Ibrahim

Opinion Writer

The debate in Gaza is about when the forced displacement from Gaza and the north to the south will come, and people are still living in a state of shock, deep sadness, fear, and uncertainty. It is no secret that the prevailing feeling is not only in the Gaza Strip. It is also among politicians, Palestinians and others, in most countries, especially Arab ones, and it is a feeling of despair. So what about the people in Gaza who are suffering from depression, frustration, loneliness, and the world's indifference to their deaths and the destruction of what remains of their property and lives?

Despite this prevailing sentiment, Hamas' leadership has yet to comprehend the nature and objectives of the occupying state, both declared and undeclared—objectives it has been attempting to implement over time and through its long-term occupation of Palestine. It should have changed its vision, narrative, and plans, and it is still capable of doing so. This also applies to world leaders and Arabs, who will bear the stigma of shame etched on their foreheads, a stigma that will accompany them for all eternity, as well as the continued bombing, starvation, and expulsion of people unable to protect themselves.

Israel has unleashed its satanic inner demons and a vengeful, biblical religious discourse based on killing, destruction and devastation under the pretext of self-defense. It has gone too far in its brutality with arrests, kidnappings, torture, bloody killings during interrogations and rape in prisons against the people who were victims. It has held us accountable historically and retroactively, and has restored what it was unable to implement of its plans and what it did not achieve during the past 77 years, and the crimes of expulsion, erasure and ethnic cleansing by forcing people to emigrate. This is not only linked to the prevailing act of revenge, as a number of Israeli researchers and analysts claim, but it is also linked to the shock of October 7.

The ongoing policy of starvation to death, the killing of women, children, and the elderly, the destruction of hospitals, and the denial of healthcare and treatment, all according to pre-planned plans developed by military and civilian experts under a state of Zionist national consensus.

It is said that the world is frustrated and unable to impose a ceasefire, as has happened in other parts of the world, or even to lift the blockade and allow humanitarian aid into the territory. It is also incapable of forcing the occupying state to back down from its plans to implement the so-called Israeli-American mechanism to distribute food through non-humanitarian centers, stripping the population of its humanity, despite its dire needs. This is achieved by imposing strict quotas on the goods distributed, along with unnecessary delays.

Impotence also appears to be a hallmark of the United Nations, which has failed to convince the world and has surrendered, fearing it will become part of the Israeli-American mechanism for distributing food, forcing the occupying state to move people south to receive food. Its clear goal is to replace the UN system with security companies, aiming to force displacement from Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip to the south through crossings and security checkpoints.

On Friday, UN Secretary-General António Guterres' speech was depressing, repeatedly stating that Palestinians in Gaza are suffering what may be the most brutal period yet as Israel intensifies its devastating war. He stated that for 80 days, Israel has blocked the entry of life-saving international aid, and that all residents of Gaza are facing the threat of starvation. He also stated that of the approximately 400 trucks allowed into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing, only 115 have collected supplies.

What's happening in the Gaza Strip, the state of tension, fear, and despair, and the creation of an equation of hope and optimism, and what remains of the people. Time has not run out to confront the occupation's plans to create chaos and facilitate the work of bandits. The theft of trucks carrying flour, food, and nutritional supplements for children and families, works to strengthen the resilience of the people, who are suffering from the cruelty of hunger, even though those stolen trucks are supposed to reach bakeries in the Gaza and North governorates.

In light of this, what remains can be saved, and the Palestinian people, and all their political and social groups, including families and clans, are able to confront this phenomenon that is contrary to the customs and traditions of our people. While the rhetoric of the United Nations and its frustrated, helpless, and surrendered Secretary-General has declined, the work of international agencies at the United Nations must be regulated according to humanitarian standards, and the work of international agencies within the United Nations must be regulated according to humanitarian standards. They must not submit to Israeli conditions and plans, and must work within the Israeli-American mechanism. Real and effective pressure must be applied on the international community and the occupation to open the crossings for the entry of aid and ensure its fair delivery to the people.

Gaza Health: 53,901 Palestinians killed in Israeli genocide

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday that the death toll from Israel's genocidal war has risen to "53,901 dead and 122,593 wounded" since October 7, 2023.

This came in the "Daily Statistical Report on the Number of deaths and Wounded as a ¹Result of the Israeli Aggression on the Gaza Strip," issued by the Ministry.

The ministry said, "79 dead (including 5 recovered) and 211 injuries arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals over the past 24 hours," as a result of the ongoing Israeli airstrikes.

The ministry stated that these statistics do not include "hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip governorate due to the difficulty of accessing them."

It explained that "the death toll and injuries since (Israel resumed its genocide) on March 18, 2025 has reached 3,747 dead and 10,552 injured."

Accordingly, the Ministry announced that "the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 53,901 dead and 122,593 wounded since October 7, 2023."

It pointed out that "a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them."

In early March, the first phase of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel concluded. The agreement, which went into effect on January 19, 2025, was brokered by Egypt and Qatar and supervised by the United States.

While Hamas has adhered to the terms of the first phase, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, has reneged on the start of the second phase in deference to extremists in his ruling coalition, according to Hebrew media.

Since March 18, the Israeli occupation has resumed its genocidal crimes by launching violent, widespread airstrikes, most of which targeted civilians in homes and tents housing displaced Palestinians.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with full American support, has been committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, coupled with a stifling blockade that has plunged the Strip into unprecedentedly dire humanitarian conditions.

Government media in Gaza: Tons of aid are spoiled and the prevention of its entry deepens the famine in the Strip.

The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip stated that large quantities of humanitarian aid are being destroyed as a result of the occupation's continued prevention of its entry into the Strip, at a time when the population is suffering from famine and a severe shortage of food and medical supplies.

The office noted that the occupation is promoting a misleading media narrative claiming it is allowing aid into Gaza, while the reality is that only about 100 trucks have entered, a number that falls far short of meeting the minimum humanitarian needs of more than two million people living in dire conditions.

The office stressed that preventing the entry of aid constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, calling on the international community to intervene immediately and pressure the urgent and unrestricted opening of the crossings.

Hamas: The occupation forces killed nine children of a doctor in cold blood while she was performing her humanitarian duty.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) declared today, Saturday, in a statement, a copy of which was received by Al-Quds: “In a new brutal crime, the occupation army committed a horrific massacre by targeting the home of Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar, a doctor at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, with an airstrike, resulting in the martyrdom of her nine children, while she was performing her humanitarian duty at her job in the hospital.”

The statement said, "This heinous crime clearly expresses the sadistic nature of the occupation and the deep-rooted spirit of revenge that drives Benjamin Netanyahu and his gang of murderers, who practice mass murder in cold blood and without any moral or human qualms."

The statement added: "Since the beginning of this criminal war, the Zionist enemy has deliberately targeted medical personnel, civilians, and their families, in an attempt to break their will and deter them from performing their national and humanitarian duty toward their people, in one of the most heinous crimes known to modern history against medical personnel."

The movement affirmed that these crimes will not be subject to a statute of limitations, nor will their perpetrators escape accountability. It emphasized that this fascist occupation, with all its symbols and criminals, is destined for inevitable demise, God willing, and that the blood of the martyrs will remain a curse that haunts them until the end.

Israeli occupation continues its aggression on Tulkarm and its camps for the 118th consecutive day.

The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 118th consecutive day, and on the Nour Shams camp for the 105th day, amid an escalation in the field and ongoing provocations against civilians.

WAFA reported that an infantry force was deployed this morning in the city center, specifically around the Martyr Thabet Thabet Roundabout and Nablus Street, stopping citizens and vehicles and preventing them from passing.

The city, its two camps, and its suburbs are witnessing intense, 24-hour activity by occupation forces' vehicles and infantry units, patrolling the main streets and neighborhoods, obstructing the movement of citizens and vehicles, and obstructing traffic in the opposite direction. Surprise checkpoints are also being set up, particularly in the city center, on Nablus Street, and at the Shuweika roundabout in the northern neighborhood.

In a related development, occupation forces stormed the eastern and southern suburbs of Dhenaba and Artah at dawn today, patrolling the main streets, conducting extensive searches, and obstructing the movement of vehicles and citizens.

The occupation forces also continue to impose a stifling siege on the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps, preventing forcibly displaced families from returning to their homes or even checking on their property in the camps. They also fire bullets at anyone who attempts to approach the camps.

In recent days, Nour Shams camp has witnessed a demolition campaign that has affected more than 20 buildings in its main neighborhoods, damaging neighboring buildings. This comes as part of the occupation's plan to demolish 106 buildings in the two camps, including 58 in Tulkarm camp and 48 in Nour Shams camp, to open roads and alter the geographical features of the camps.

Israeli occupation forces also continue to seize homes and residential buildings on Nablus Street and the adjacent northern neighborhood, forcibly evicting residents and converting them into military barracks. Some of these buildings have been under occupation for more than two months.

Nablus Street, which connects Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps, also suffered extensive damage after the occupation forces placed earth mounds along its length months ago. This significantly impacted vehicle traffic and exacerbated the suffering of residents. This was in addition to the bulldozing and excavation work carried out, particularly at the northern entrance to Tulkarm refugee camp.

The ongoing aggression on Tulkarm and its two camps has so far left 13 martyrs, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens have also been wounded and detained, and the infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles have been severely damaged by demolition, arson, and looting.

This escalation has led to the displacement of more than 4,200 families from the two camps, representing over 25,000 citizens, and the complete destruction of more than 400 homes and the partial destruction of 2,573 others. Furthermore, the entrances and alleys of the two camps have been sealed off with earth mounds, transforming them into isolated areas almost devoid of any sign of life.

UNICEF: Medical personnel in Gaza are operating under extreme pressure and face a severe shortage of medicines.

UNICEF spokesperson Kazem Abu Khalaf confirmed on Saturday that medical personnel in the Gaza Strip are operating under extreme pressure, amid a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies, in addition to power outages and a shortage of fuel needed to operate medical equipment in hospitals.

According to the organization's official website, Abu Khalaf's spokesman said that the United Nations is not demanding the impossible in the Gaza Strip, but rather is demanding the implementation of international law, which guarantees civilians the right to medical treatment, life, and movement. He added, "If Gaza is left in this state, we face a humanitarian catastrophe whose effects will be felt for decades to come."

He pointed out that critical humanitarian cases, including children, women, and the elderly, are dying daily due to a lack of access to adequate medical care. He explained that the situation cannot be remedied with aid alone, but rather requires a comprehensive plan to rebuild the economy and operate and open the crossings on a stable basis, allowing the entry of goods, fuel, and medical supplies.

Abu Khalaf added that the health system in the Gaza Strip has almost completely collapsed due to the ongoing Israeli bombardment and blockade. He pointed out that the number of hospitals operating in the Strip before the war was 36, but this number has decreased to only about 18 hospitals, most of which are operating at a partial capacity of no more than 50%. He added that more than 10,500 wounded Palestinians need to leave the Gaza Strip for urgent treatment abroad, but the rate of discharges does not exceed two cases per day.

He added, "If the situation continues as it is, we will need more than 13 years to fully discharge all of the injured for treatment."

During her work, pediatrician Alaa Al-Najjar receives her eight children as charred remains.

Alaa al-Najjar, a pediatrician at Nasser Hospital, lost her nine children in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the family's home in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. This was one of the most painful massacres since the beginning of the aggression.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the bombing completely destroyed the house and sparked a massive fire. Civil defense crews recovered the bodies of nine victims, including eight children, who were completely charred. According to eyewitnesses, the doctor suffered a nervous breakdown after learning of the tragedy, while her husband was injured in the airstrike.

The Director General of the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Munir al-Barsh, confirmed that "nine siblings from one family, the children of Dr. Alaa al-Najjar, were martyred in the bombing that targeted the house at dawn on Friday."

For weeks, Khan Yunis has witnessed a violent escalation by the Israeli occupation army, as part of a systematic policy of targeting civilians, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of women and children.

This crime is one of dozens of massacres committed against Palestinian families amidst a disturbing international silence, while the suffering of the Gaza Strip's residents continues, living under bombardment and loss for months without any protection.

Dr. Alaa, who treated children in Gaza at Nasser Hospital, received news of the martyrdom of her children, some of whose names have been identified as: Yahya, Rakan, Raslan, Jibran, Eve, Rifan, and Sayedin, in a scene that embodies the tragedy that Gaza experiences daily under bombardment.

Transformations in favor of Palestine

Hamada Faraana

The countries most aligned with the Israeli colony have issued politically critical and warning positions against the Netanyahu government, warning it will take deterrent punitive measures if it does not retract its crimes against the Palestinians.

Britain is the one that created the colony on the land of Palestine through: 1- The Balfour Declaration of 1917, 2- Facilitating the flow of foreign Jewish immigrants through settlement, armament, and imposing authority and force according to the British Mandate from the 1920s until the end of the Mandate, and the declaration of the colony on 5-15-1948.

France supplied the colony with conventional weapons and built its nuclear reactor, so that it could gain military superiority over the Arab world.

Canada is one of the countries that voted most in favor of the colony in international institutions after the United States.

The three countries, in a joint statement, affirmed that they will take concrete measures in response to Israel (the colonizer) if it does not stop its renewed military assault on the Gaza Strip and lift the restrictions it imposes on humanitarian aid. They added: “We will not stand idly by while the Netanyahu government continues these horrific acts, and the Israeli announcement regarding the entry of aid is insufficient.” The three countries, Britain, France, and Canada, affirmed that the level of humanitarian suffering of Gaza’s children is “unbearable,” and condemned “the hateful language used by members of the Israeli government, in their despair over the destruction of Gaza and the displacement of civilians.”

Accordingly, 22 foreign ministers called on the colony's government to "allow the immediate and full resumption of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip."

The foreign ministers of Britain, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Slovenia, Canada, Australia, and Japan opposed Tel Aviv's policies on delivering aid and denying it to Palestinians, stressing in their joint statement that "the United Nations and humanitarian partners cannot support it."

The policies and positions of these countries, which have close ties with the colony in one way or another, took these positions for several reasons:

First, the policies and actions of the extremist fascist colony against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, including deliberate killing and intentional starvation.

Second, the protests that swept across most European capitals and major cities forced European decision-makers to respond to their people's protests and express their condemnation of the crimes committed by the colony against the Palestinians, and their sympathy for them.

Third, US President Trump's actions in dealing with the Netanyahu government, which express discontent and isolation on several important policy issues, were implemented without consulting the Netanyahu government:

1- Reaching a ceasefire agreement with the Houthis in Yemen.

2- Reach talks and negotiate with Iran.

3 - Opening direct negotiations with Hamas and reaching an agreement to release the American-Israeli prisoner, Idan Alexander, and continuing the option of direct negotiations with Hamas until now.

4- Selling advanced weapons to Saudi Arabia, including preparations to build a nuclear reactor.

Significant political developments have been brought about by the sacrifices of the Palestinians, on the one hand, and the crimes of the Israelis, on the other. This is a step towards correcting the narrative, reorienting the course, and restoring the stolen rights of the Palestinian people.

When Gaza disappears from the headlines... A reading of the global media agenda

Rasim Aslan

In a world governed by images and contested narratives, media coverage is no longer merely a reflection of reality, but rather a tool for shaping and reshaping it. When it comes to the Palestinian cause, and specifically what is happening in the Gaza Strip, the media landscape not only reflects the extent of the suffering, but also reveals a profound imbalance in standards and a growing control over the gateway to minds and hearts, represented by the media.

It has become clear that the international media, including some Arab platforms, is not driven by the importance of the event as much as it is driven by an agenda of personal interests. Coverage is managed as if it were part of a political operations room, not a professional editorial department. When cameras stop covering what is happening in Gaza—despite the ongoing bombing, siege, and destruction—it doesn't mean that reality has changed, but rather that a decision has been made to obscure it.

Until May 2025, the Israeli war on the southern governorates of Palestine (Gaza Strip), which broke out on October 7, 2023, left more than (53,655) thousand Palestinians martyred as a result of this aggression, including more than (18,000) children, (12,400) women, (3,853) elderly people, in addition to (1,411) medical personnel, (203) UNRWA employees, and approximately (11,200) missing persons, including (4,700) missing children and women. In addition to (981) martyrs in the northern governorates of Palestine (West Bank), including (197) children, in addition to more than (121,950) thousand wounded, in addition to (2,000,000) million displaced persons, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.

According to a report by the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, the International Federation of Journalists, and Reporters Without Borders, (219) journalists have been killed in Gaza since the war began, the largest number of journalist casualties in a single conflict in two decades. However, these crimes are rarely highlighted as a deliberate targeting of the free Palestinian voice.

In addition, more than 80% of Gaza's infrastructure has been destroyed or damaged, including schools, hospitals, and places of worship, according to a United Nations report, while more than 1.8 million Palestinians are internally displaced, representing approximately 80% of the Strip's population.

In addition to the hunger, thirst and famine that spread as a result of the severe siege and the prevention of the entry of humanitarian aid, statistics indicate that more than one million Palestinian children of different ages suffer from daily hunger and face the risk of death by starvation. (57) children were martyred due to hunger, and there are about (65) thousand children who were afflicted with severe malnutrition diseases and were transferred to destroyed hospitals and medical centers, in addition to (335) thousand children under the age of five on the verge of death in hospitals.

These numbers are not just statistics, but rather painful figures that not only express the magnitude of the tragedy, but also expose the extent of the media's deliberate neglect, as these lives are reduced to mere passing numbers in news bulletins, when in fact each number represents a life that was bereaved, a family that was displaced, and a future that was cut short prematurely.

The painful irony, after examining these statistics, is that a child pulled from the rubble in Gaza doesn't receive the same coverage as a traffic jam in a European capital, a security incident at a Western embassy, or a brewing crisis between two countries. This isn't an emotional comparison so much as a logical cry for questions: What happened to coverage standards? What makes the blood of a Palestinian child "less of a priority" on the news agenda?

To answer these questions, we need to consider entertainment news, sports, or even weather reports, headlines, or an event at a hotel that dominates the media. Meanwhile, Gaza disappears from the headlines when reading the global media agenda, its suffering buried at the bottom of the coverage. This blatant imbalance in media priorities not only reflects a preference for entertainment content over humanitarian issues, but also demonstrates a clear bias toward the logic of the market, sponsors, and political interests, at the expense of Palestinian blood.

When the media's priorities are reshaped based on the dictates of dominant powers, victims are reduced to marginal numbers, and the oppressor wears the mask of neutrality or, at times, victimhood. Thus, media silence becomes a position, even a weapon, used to normalize injustice and marginalize the truth.

If we look at the answer from a political perspective, it lies in the deep political dimension that governs the ordering of news, the selection of images, and the determination of "newsworthy stories." Gaza, which filled the screens a few months ago, has suddenly become a narrative fringe, not because the war has stopped, but because the narrative of resilience no longer serves the narrative some seek to export.

Here, the media's most dangerous role in reshaping awareness becomes apparent, not only through the way the news is presented, but also through the choice of what is shown and what is withheld. Gaza's absence from the headlines is not a media vacuum, but rather a conscious denial, inseparable from a desire to create a distorted memory and tame global public opinion that had begun to move toward solidarity.

According to a YouGov poll conducted in April 2024, 62% of the European public view media coverage of the Palestinian issue as "biased," and 56% feel that crimes committed in Gaza "do not receive enough attention." This demonstrates how the public sometimes anticipates newsrooms and recognizes media bias even if journalists do not explicitly state it.

It is painful that this shift coincides with the presence of Palestinian media, which is denied access to the world due to the control of those with agendas over the scope of media coverage and dissemination, and with the weakness of the collective Arab discourse, which – in the past – mastered the art of awakening the global conscience. Today, we are facing a critical moment that requires a review, not only of the performance of international media, but also of our national and regional platforms, some of which have begun to repeat the imported narrative instead of producing their own narrative of resistance.

The challenge today is not limited to conveying the image of the martyr or the voice of the wounded. Rather, it extends to the necessity of regaining the ability to manage public opinion and imposing the Palestinian presence as a cause that cannot be dismissed from the news with the stroke of a pen or through a "plastic" analysis that favors the occupier.

Trump and Netanyahu: A Real Disagreement or a Passing Summer Cloud?

Dr. Hussein Al-Deek

On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in a new address to Israel and the international community, Benjamin Netanyahu said that the war would continue until its goals were achieved. It was clear from the tone of this address that Netanyahu still had the green light to continue the war in the Gaza Strip, and that Washington was still pursuing its policy of absolute support for Israel in that war. Talk of real, deep, and fundamental disagreements between Netanyahu and Trump is now a weak hypothesis. The relationship between the two men was previously described as solid and strong, given the ideological convergence between the two parties. Despite the emergence of some differences in viewpoints and changes in complex regional issues, these differences are limited to priorities and do not open a discussion about the future of the strong and stable strategic relationship between the United States and Israel.

The divergence in positions that began between the two sides after the Budapest summit, where Trump summoned Netanyahu directly to the White House and informed him not to launch any military strike against Iran, marked a turning point in the relationship between the two leaders. Netanyahu wanted to use his personal relations to change Washington's policy towards Iran, especially the nuclear agreement. However, Trump, despite his criticism of the agreement, was not prepared to enter into a direct confrontation with Tehran without strategic guarantees. Netanyahu tried to dictate several issues to the US administration, most notably not to enter into a nuclear agreement with Iran, but Washington refused. In addition to the disagreement over the Turkish role in Syria, Netanyahu sought to push Trump to prevent the strengthening of the Turkish presence in northern Syria and not lift sanctions on the Syrian state.

The disagreements deepened when Netanyahu began bypassing Trump and communicating directly with figures within the US administration, such as the National Security Advisor. Netanyahu's coordination with the US National Security Advisor on Iran without consulting Trump angered Trump, who viewed it as a challenge to his direct authority and one of the most prominent signs of personal tension between the two leaders.

Gaza was not far from the arena of contention. At critical moments, Netanyahu made unilateral decisions, such as delaying the entry of humanitarian aid and expanding military operations, without prior coordination with the Trump administration. Netanyahu embarrassed Trump on two issues: the first regarding Gaza and the entry of aid, and the second regarding the expansion of the military operation in Gaza through the Gideon Armored Vehicles operations.

Lifting America's strategic cover from Israel is an unlikely option... because Israel represents Western strategic, imperialist, and colonial interests in the Middle East... Therefore, the current disputes are not between the two countries — the United States and Israel — but rather between the Trump administration and the Netanyahu government. Even with the change of administrations and the shift of interests, the relationship between the United States and Israel remains based on strong institutions and alliances that do not change easily. The relationship between the two countries is a deep strategic relationship that transcends the deep state institutions in both countries, the US Congress, and pressure lobbies within the United States. It is not a relationship between individuals, but rather an institutional and strategic relationship between two countries.

A change in presidents in Washington does not necessarily mean a change in allies or geopolitical priorities. The United States has historically maintained its strategic alliances, including with Israel and the Gulf states. The United States has not changed its strategic allies. Its traditional allies, whether the Gulf states or Israel, remain the same. What has changed is the management of the balance of America's supreme interests and national security interests. In this context, Washington acts in a manner that serves the interests of the American people.

Trump's visit to the Gulf states, without stopping in Tel Aviv, is part of his effort to secure billions in investments to support and revive the American economy. This is why he visited the Gulf and not Israel, especially since Israel is still waging war and has not reached a truce.

This is a strong message from the US administration to Israel, but it does not mean at all that the United States is about to change its alliances in the region. He noted that the message was clearly political, but not a diplomatic rupture.

The Iran and Houthi file in Yemen: Trump and Netanyahu differ radically in their vision of Iran. While Trump believes that reducing tensions is in his country's interest, Netanyahu insists on the military option. Trump seeks to de-escalate crises and reduce hotspots in the region and the world, so that he can devote himself to confronting Chinese expansion and influence. Netanyahu, on the other hand, has a different viewpoint, preferring further escalation and pushing to strike the Iranian nuclear reactor. This contradiction reveals a real clash of priorities, between Trump's focus on Asia and Netanyahu's insistence on Iran. Moreover, the American openness to parties previously classified as enemies of Israel was an indirect slap in the face to Netanyahu, especially after the emergence of signs of understanding with the Houthis and Syria.

The understandings and agreements being brokered between Washington and the Houthis, brokered by Oman, are irritating Netanyahu. He is also disturbed by the US's openness to Syria and its move to lift sanctions, a move Netanyahu strongly rejects. Netanyahu wants the sanctions to remain in place, and he wants to continue the lightning military operations inside Syrian territory, seeking to spread chaos there.

One of the most significant points of contention between the two sides is the way they deal with the Palestinian issue. Netanyahu seeks to impose an expansionist fait accompli, while the US administration believes that the Israeli project conflicts with its global priorities. The relationship with the Palestinians is also a point of contention. Netanyahu seeks complete control over the historical land of Palestine, based on its biblical names, such as “Judea and Samaria” in the West Bank, while the US administration has global strategic priorities that cannot be limited to Netanyahu’s expansionist project.

Despite growing signs of tension between Trump and Netanyahu, the institutional nature of the US-Israeli relationship remains the de facto governing factor for its continuity. It is highly unlikely that the US will lift its cover from Israel. What we are witnessing is a divergence in tactics, not a break in strategies. All these disagreements and differences between Netanyahu and Trump can be summed up as a passing summer cloud.
