Can China bring peace to Ukraine?

From Ukraine to the Middle East, Beijing presents itself as a mediator with a leading role in resolving world crises.

The phone conversation that Xi Jinping had with Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday was the first contact between the Chinese and Ukrainian presidents since Russia, Beijing's strategic ally, invaded Ukraine in early 2022.

Below are answers to some key questions about China's diplomatic ambitions and plans for Ukraine:

Xi told Zelensky that China's "fundamental position is to promote peace talks" and pledged to send a delegation to Ukraine to help find a "political settlement".

The delegation will be led by Li Hui, Chinese Ambassador to Russia from 2009 to 2019.

But Lee's choice raised questions: Just before he left Moscow, President Vladimir Putin awarded him the Order of Friendship.

Chinese state media said at the time that the medal "is not only a tribute to his person, but also represents the friendship between the Russian and Chinese people."

The phone call between Xi and Zelensky took place after Beijing published in February a 12-point paper on Ukraine that called for dialogue and respect for the territorial sovereignty of all countries.

The West criticized that proposal for its vague wording, although it prompted Zelensky to say he would be open to talks with Xi.

Ja Ian Chung, a political science professor at the National University of Singapore, said Wednesday's phone call was "a positive step forward that reconnected at the highest levels, but it remains a first step".

"Any tangible progress requires (China's) ability to get Russia to exercise restraint," he told AFP.

Wednesday's call follows Chinese diplomatic efforts aimed at reconfiguring strained relations with Europe after three years of Covid isolation.

French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen visited China earlier this month.

Macron caused a stir before the end of the trip when he told reporters that Europe should not get involved in a battle between Beijing and Washington over democratic, Western-backed Taiwan.

Analyst Bill Bishop wrote in his newsletter Senocism, which specializes in China, that Beijing may signal that it is willing to work with Ukraine "with the aim of wooing the most vocal voices opposed to China in the European Union."

He added that it may also seek to "put a distance between the European Union and the United States."

Likewise, the Chinese government presented itself as a mediator in other international crises, and last month it was surprisingly able to bring the two rivals in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia and Iran, closer together.

In another ambitious bid, Beijing has shown its willingness to help facilitate talks between Israel and the Palestinians.
China presents itself as a neutral party in the Ukraine war.

But in recent years, China and Russia have strengthened their economic cooperation and diplomatic contacts, with their partnership getting closer and closer since the invasion.

Beijing has refused to condemn Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine in what it refers to the conflict as a "crisis", with Xi and Putin declaring during a meeting in Moscow in March that bilateral relations had entered a "new era".

Analysts say that China is the strongest partner in the relationship with Russia, and that its influence is increasing as Moscow's international isolation deepens.
Zelensky said that this phone call and the appointment of a Ukrainian ambassador to China give "a strong impetus to the development" of relations between the two countries.

Western powers greeted the call with cautious optimism, with the European Union deeming it an "important and long overdue first step" asking China to exert influence over Russia.

In turn, an official in the French presidency said that Paris "encourages any dialogue" that may "contribute to resolving the conflict" and is in line with "the fundamental interests of Kiev" and international law.

For its part, the United States welcomed the phone call, and White House national security spokesman John Kirby described it as "a good thing."

In Moscow, the Kremlin welcomed any attempt to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine. "We welcome everything that would end the conflict in Ukraine and achieve Russia's goals," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
Xi's "boundless friendship" with Putin raises questions about the Chinese leader's impartiality.

"I don't think we know yet if that will lead to some kind of meaningful peace action, plan or proposal," the White House said.

Han Yang, a former Chinese diplomat based in Sydney, wrote in a tweet that by Xi's comment Wednesday that "there are no winners in a nuclear war" the Chinese president was "essentially pressuring Zelensky to acquiesce to Putin's territorial demands: if negotiations do not start, there is a possibility that Russia drops the bomb and it will be on you."

Zhong said that if China's efforts to broker a settlement contribute, it "will demonstrate Beijing's ability to play a constructive international role and may confirm Xi's role as an international leader."

Joy and fear in India as the country is about to become the most populous in the world

Young mother Manu Bala cradles her newborn baby in a run-down public hospital in India, where she has just helped make her country the most populous in the world.

Tears of joy and relief streamed down Bala's cheeks as her unnamed baby girl, one of more than 67,000 babies born across India on Monday, rested on her chest.

On that day, the United Nations announced that India, which already has one-sixth of the world's population, will overtake China this week with the largest population.

"I am very happy because my baby was born on the day India overtook China. It is a special feeling to become a mother on this day," the 22-year-old told AFP from her hospital bed.

"I want my child to study hard and fulfill her dreams. I want to give her a good life," she added.

Glad to be a father, Rohit, Bala's husband, has begun planning for the coming weeks: The family will organize a baptismal party 11 days after the birth, with a Hindu priest attending, who will help them, through astrology, find a name for the baby girl.

At the General Hospital in Dehra, a Himalayan city in northern India, Rohit and his mother waited anxiously for Bala to give birth outside the crowded maternity ward.

After a difficult labor, Bala gave birth to her first child, surrounded by a number of nurses who greeted the newborn with applause.
Bala's pale face looks relieved as she holds her baby girl to her breast. With what was left of her energy, the new mother thanked the doctor and nurses.

Rohit is relieved that the birth took place without complications.

But this official is worried about the future that awaits his daughter. "There are a lot of problems that we have to face because of the increase in the population," the 30-year-old told AFP.

"We had to wait in lines for a long time to be able to see a doctor. India faces huge challenges in providing electricity, food and housing for its growing population," he said.

Kasir of Indian cities suffer from a shortage of water supplies, air and water pollution, and overcrowding in slums.

Every year millions of young people enter the labor market and struggle to find opportunities in an economy that does not have the capacity to provide jobs for all of them.

"There is a lot of unemployment in the country. It will be more difficult to find a job. I think one child is enough now," Rohit concluded.

A Palestinian review of the lists of commodities included in the Paris Economic Protocol

Today, Thursday, Minister of National Economy Khaled Asseily said that work is underway to complete a review of the commodity lists included in the Paris Economic Protocol, which have not been amended since 1994.

This came during a meeting the minister held with representatives of the private sector at the ministry's headquarters to review the results of a study on the reality of commodity lists included in the Paris Economic Protocol, which was prepared within the "Export" project funded by the British government.

In his speech, the minister stressed that the Paris Economic Protocol, which was torn apart by Israel due to its policies, is outdated and no longer valid and does not respond to the requirements of developing the economy of the State of Palestine.

The meeting pointed out that the current lists of commodities are among the most prominent obstacles facing the Palestinian importer and factory, which requires changing this reality in line with the needs of the market.

The conferees emphasized the importance of studying all options that would enhance the Palestinian government's strategy of gradual disengagement from the occupation economy, promoting local production, and opening up and importing from global markets.

The meeting stated that the system of dual-use commodities pursued by Israel limits the development and growth of the national industry, and imposes exorbitant costs on the factory due to the complexities and requirements contrary to the usual international practices, which it adopts under the pretext of security and environment.

The private sector stressed the importance of changing the Paris Economic Protocol, which is a major obstacle to the development of our national economy, calling on the relevant international parties to put pressure on the occupying power to change this protocol and remove the obstacles it imposes on Palestinian trade.

It is noteworthy that Israel prevents the entry of a list of raw materials to the Palestinian market that exceeds 100 materials used in the sectors of leather, construction, food, engineering, metal, textile, sewing, aluminum, chemical, metal, equipment and spare parts.

The 'end' of Kim Jong-un's regime? What does the "Washington Declaration" mean?

US President Joe Biden and his South Korean counterpart Yoon Sok Yul this week issued a warning to North Korea that any nuclear attack on its part would lead to the "end" of the Pyongyang regime.

This threat comes as Sok Yul is on a six-day state visit to the United States, where he discussed with Biden strengthening the US security umbrella for South Korea in the face of North Korea's increased ballistic missile tests.

But what is the significance of this stark statement? Here's a look at what we know:

Washington's declaration strengthens the US security umbrella for South Korea.

These security measures include sending an American nuclear submarine to South Korean waters, which has not happened since the 1980s, and other measures, including sharing more information in the event of a North Korean attack.

But there are no plans to station US nuclear weapons in South Korea, and some analysts question the practical value of the announcement.

"That North Korea fears a strategic nuclear submarine equipped with ballistic missiles with a range of 7,400 km is questionable," Cheong Seong-chang, of the Center for North Korea Studies at the Sejong Institute, told AFP.

He explained that the "very long" range of the submarine missiles meant that they might not be able to hit North Korea if it was in South Korean waters.

For his part, Leif-Eric Easley, a professor at the University of Iowa in Seoul, told AFP that there is no doubt that this visit "represents a very big indication of the level of US-South Korean relations with the expansion of security, economic and cultural cooperation."

US officials described the new arrangement as similar to moves last seen when Washington oversaw Europe's defense against the Soviet Union.

Yoon is trying to reassure an anxious South Korean public about the US's commitment to what it calls "extended deterrence," where US assets, including nuclear weapons, are used to prevent attacks on allies.

Opinion polls showed that a majority of South Koreans believe the country should develop its own nuclear weapons. Yoon previously hinted that Seoul might resort to this option.

Of course not, and this may cause problems, according to experts.

"One thing is clear: There is a tacit agreement that Seoul will not go nuclear," said Sue Kim, director of policy at LMI Consulting Group and a former CIA analyst.

"Seoul's nuclear ambitions have been put to rest," he added.

For his part, Ji-wook Shin, a Korean expert and professor of sociology at Stanford University, told AFP that the announcement is "a step forward."

"I don't think this will be enough to satisfy the South Korean people, who are increasingly demanding that Seoul develop its own nuclear weapons," he added.

Experts say the close cooperation between its two archenemies, Washington and Seoul, is a source of concern for the Kim Jong-un regime and there may be more missile launches to show that.

The retired South Korean army general, Chun In-bum, told AFP that in public, "North Korea will underestimate the importance of the message of reassurance sent by the United States regarding its nuclear deterrence."

But behind closed doors, "they will get the message: if they use nuclear weapons, it will be the end of the regime."

Having spent decades and using a large portion of the impoverished nation's gross domestic product developing banned nuclear weapons programmes, Kim is not going to change course, experts say.

"It is unlikely that North Korea will give up its nuclear weapons by giving in to these threats," Yang Moo-jin, president of the University of North Korean Studies in Seoul, told AFP.

Carl Friedhoff of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs (Chicago Council on Global Affairs) told AFP that the main problem with Washington's declaration is not the agreement itself but rather the political imbalance of the United States, which means it may be worthless after the upcoming US presidential elections.

He explained that the possible return of former US President Donald Trump to power is likely to lead to "very serious discussions" in Seoul.

For the US-South Korean relationship, he added, "the biggest challenge is something the alliance has no control over: the domestic politics of the United States."

"There is real concern in Seoul about the return of the Republican Party, especially Trump, to the White House. If he wins the 2024 elections, this could lead to a shift in the relationship" between the two countries, he added.

Total Energy records a 12% increase in its profits in the first quarter of the year

Total Energy Group announced Thursday that it achieved a net profit in the first quarter of 2023 amounting to $ 5.6 billion, an increase of 12 percent, despite the decline in gas and oil prices.

Last year, from January to March, the French conglomerate posted a net profit of $4.9 billion, but factoring in large reserves, as a result of a $4.1 billion drop in assets due to the sanctions imposed on Russia.

The increase is clearer compared to the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2022, and amounted to +70 percent.

At the same time, the group announced the sale of its oil sands exploration operations in Canada to Suncor Energy for $4.1 billion, as part of a strategy to reduce carbon emissions after announcing at the beginning of the year a plan to spin off its Canadian assets.

And the group stated in a statement issued in conjunction with the results of the first quarter that the deal related to all the bonds of the Canadian subsidiary of the French group, “Total Energy EB Canada Ltd,” should be completed “before the end of the third quarter of 2023.”

In 2022, the French group recorded the highest profits in its history, amounting to $20.5 billion, benefiting from the rise in gas and oil prices following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

And after the price of a barrel of Brent oil reference exceeded the symbolic threshold of $ 102 to a large extent in the year 2022, it has declined since the first months of the year 2023, and on Thursday it recorded less than $ 80.

Republicans drop the two-state solution on the occasion of Israel's founding anniversary

The US House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to congratulate Israel on its 75th birthday and wish it success in making peace with other countries.

But the encouragement of peace agreements has not extended to the Palestinians, in breach of the typical language of previous US lawmakers' resolutions on Israel's Independence Day — a departure, say insiders, from the language that was originally drafted for that resolution.

Democrats pushed for the Palestinians to be included in a resolution focused on making peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors, but Republicans rejected the wording.

The behind-the-scenes work to remind the Palestinians reflects the extent of the parties' divergence on Israeli issues, "as the Republicans joined the hard-right Israeli government in refusing to support the establishment of a Palestinian state," according to GTE.

The vote coincided with the visit of the Speaker of the House, Republican Representative Kevin McCarthy, and Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies - both of whom are very close to the Israeli lobby organization "AIPAC" - to Israel to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its founding and the beginning of the Palestinian Nakba.

A senior Democratic staffer who remained anonymous to speak candidly told the Jewish Telegraph: “We worked hard with the Republican staff on the Foreign Affairs Committee to find a way to preserve precedent and preserve the language of two states when celebrating Israel’s birthday that took place decades ago. The Republic accepts the language of two states and we had to move on to say Merry Christmas to Israel."

The resolution was passed Tuesday, on the eve of Israel's Independence Day, when all but 18 Democrats (197) voted in favor of the resolution, which "encourages the expansion and strengthening of the Abraham Accords to urge other countries to normalize relations with Israel and to ensure that existing agreements reap tangible security and economic benefits for the citizens of those countries." countries and all the peoples of the region.

According to GTE, "In a bitter and unusual warning after the vote, prominent Jewish Democrats joined in a statement condemning the Republican Party for excluding the Palestinians."

The statement issued after the House approved the resolution, unlike previous resolutions that celebrated Israel's birthday and its achievements, said that this resolution, drafted primarily by Republicans, broke with the longstanding bipartisan tradition of acknowledging the importance of achieving a two-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians. resolute in our aspiration to help Israel find peace with all of its neighbors, including the Palestinians in particular," as Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York, the top Democrat on the Foreign Affairs Committee, and eight senior Jewish Democrats signed the statement referring to Palestinian rights. They are: Jerry Nadler from New York, Dean Phillips from Minnesota, Kathy Manning from North Carolina, Jamie Raskin from Maryland, and David. Celine from Rhode Island, Debbie Wasserman Schultz from Florida, and Jan Schakowski and Brad Schneider from Illinois.

According to the American Jewish newspaper (GTE), “An insider, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency how the resolution developed, pointing out that early this year, pro-Israel groups contacted Democrats and Republicans to draft a resolution.” Bipartisan marking Israel's 75th birthday, and lawmakers on both sides deemed it a no-brainer, despite recent unrest in Israel, and mass protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposed sweeping changes to the court system that have filled the streets for weeks. amid the intensification of Israeli-Palestinian violence.

According to GTE, the employees, who work in nonpartisan ways, revived the language from a resolution in 2018 marking Israel's 70th anniversary sponsored by Rep. Virginia Fox, R-North Carolina, that year, as employees on both sides believe that Foxx's decision was a good example, in that it contained what was at the time standard language, supporting "a negotiated settlement leading to a sustainable two-state solution with a democratic Jewish state of Israel and a demilitarized, democratic Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security."

But about a month after the agreement (which took place at the beginning of the year), the Republican leadership returned, according to this narrative, with clear instructions: Do not mention the Palestinians, not at all—although centrist pro-Israel groups have been pushing for the two-state language to remain in the resolution. .

According to the newspaper, "The most influential Jewish organization during Trump's presidency was the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), which rejects a two-state solution, and persuaded senior pro-Israel conservatives in the Republican Party in 2016 to remove reference to the two-state solution from its platform."

The resolution, which also supports defense assistance to Israel and bilateral cooperation between the United States and Israel in the defense and civilian spheres, mentions every peace and normalization agreement that Israel has signed — with Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco — with the exception of the 1993 Oslo Accords with the Palestinians.

The paper quotes the chief Democratic staff as saying, "The party, of course, wants to wish well for Israel - but those good wishes were wrapped up in fears that it would remain a Jewish and democratic state."

For its part, the Israeli lobby organization "AIPAC" praised the decision, and said in a statement, "The decision recognizes that a strong and secure Israel is a vital pillar of American national security policy in the Middle East, while liberal Jewish policy groups in the Middle East denounced the omission of the Palestinian issue, as the" Americans from Peace Now said, "The decision to remove support for a two-state solution from the text requires that we ask exactly what 'shared values' Kevin McCarthy is referring to? More importantly, it begs the question, What future solution to the conflict do House Republicans support?"

In turn, J Street said it would pressure the Senate, where Democrats hold a majority, "to introduce a resolution that takes a different approach, consistent with a bipartisan commitment to a two-state solution that guarantees a peaceful future for both Israelis and Palestinians."

Erdogan announces a temporary halt to his re-election campaign due to a health problem

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who had stomach flu, was forced to cancel his commitments Thursday for the second day in a row, 17 days before presidential and legislative elections, with uncertain results.

But the country's 69-year-old president, who spent twenty of them in power, will make a video intervention at around 13:30 (10:30 GMT), during the inauguration of the country's first nuclear plant, to dispel rumors about his likely health.

The inauguration of the Akkuyu station in the south of the country was a major station for the Turkish president during the current week.

Erdogan was counting on the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin as well, but the latter decided to speak via video as well.

On Wednesday evening, the head of the communication department in the Turkish presidency, Fahrettin Altun, sought to silence the rumors circulating on social media, after announcing the cancellation of two activities for the country's president that were scheduled for Thursday.

"We categorically reject these baseless allegations about the president's health," Elton wrote in a tweet, sharing widely circulated tweets saying that the Turkish president had suffered a heart attack.

It began on Tuesday evening when, 20 days before the May 14 poll, the president was scheduled to give a long interview to two Turkish television stations after he had attended public events in three different cities earlier in the day.

The program was delayed without any explanation for an hour and a half, and suddenly stopped ten minutes after it started, while a journalist was asking a question.

And he heard the voice of an unidentified person surprised by what happened behind the camera before the program stopped, while he stood asking the question about his seat.

The country's president returned to appear on the screen, pale in color, after a quarter of an hour, before he cut the interview short, explaining that he had "stomach flu."

In a tweet, the Turkish president, whose gait has become sluggish at times in recent years, wrote the next morning that he was "resting at home today on the advice of doctors," canceling his participation in three public events in Central Anatolia.

"There is no need to worry, his condition is good. He will resume his program, I think (...) starting tomorrow," said Turkish Minister of Family Affairs Gerya Yanik, in response to questions from the private "NTV" station on Thursday morning.

However, this malaise does not come at the right time for the country's president. Erdogan, who has been in power since 2003, first as prime minister and then as president, faces an opposition that has formed a united front that puts it in a good position, according to the results of several opinion polls.

As for his main rival, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who was nominated by a coalition of six opposition parties, he received tacit support from the Peoples' Democratic Party, the third political force in the country, which is considered the kingmaker in the presidential ballot.

Erdogan had planned to participate in two or three election rallies in the last two weeks before the election, after breaking the fast during Ramadan each evening in a different town.

The health of the Turkish president sparked speculation after he underwent surgery in the large intestine at the end of 2011, and then a second surgery in 2012.

Erdogan, who was prime minister at the time, publicly denied that he had colon cancer, explaining that the operations were aimed at removing polyps.

Today, Thursday, the family of the sick prisoner, Walid Daqqa, demanded his immediate release so that he can receive treatment without restriction.

According to the family's statement, the Israeli Prisons Authority allowed today to visit his wife, Sana, and daughter, Milad, in Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, after delaying it for more than two weeks.

And she said: “The prisoner, Daqqa, underwent an operation to remove part of his right lung on April 12, 2023, and he is still in the process of slow recovery from the last operation, and he is able to speak with difficulty, and he needs close medical supervision and continuous care around the clock due to his emaciation.” General, weight loss.

The prisoner, Daqqa, was admitted to the hospital on March 23, 2023, after his health condition deteriorated sharply after he was diagnosed with myelofibrosis (a rare cancer of the bone marrow) on December 18, 2022, which developed from leukemia that was diagnosed nearly ten years ago, and was left untreated. serious.

The family added: "Despite the complexity of the prisoner's health condition, he may be transferred to Ramla Prison Hospital during the coming period, and this hospital, known as the slaughterhouse, will certainly not be the appropriate environment for the prisoner's recovery, nor for the delicate bone marrow transplant he needs." despite the availability of donors.

Violent battles in the Sudanese capital and Darfur, despite the truce

Thursday, areas in Khartoum are witnessing bombardment from combat aircraft and attempts to confront them, despite reaching an agreement to stop the fighting that broke out between the two parties to the conflict about two weeks ago, while fighting rages in the troubled Darfur region in western Sudan.

Late on Wednesday night, the Sudanese army agreed in principle to an initiative by the Intergovernmental Organization for Development in East Africa (IGAD) to task the presidents of South Sudan, Kenya and Djibouti with working to resolve the current crisis.

According to a Sudanese army statement, the initiative included "extending the current truce for an additional 72 hours" and "dispatching a representative of the armed forces and another of the rebel militia to Juba for the purpose of negotiation."

For its part, the Rapid Support Forces have not yet responded to the proposal of the East African bloc.

The battles have been taking place since April 15 between the army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, a merciless war on power, after they were allies since the 2021 coup, during which they overthrew civilians.

Eyewitnesses reported that the clashes continued during the past days, despite a US-brokered truce agreed on Tuesday. Warplanes are still flying over the capital, and fighters from both sides are engaged in fierce fighting with automatic rifles and heavy weapons.

The battles have so far killed at least 512 people and wounded thousands, according to a statement by the Federal Ministry of Health in Sudan, but the number of victims may be more than that as a result of the ongoing fighting.

The Sudanese Medical Syndicate also confirmed that 14 hospitals were bombed, and 19 medical facilities were out of service due to the clashes.
Outside Khartoum, violence has escalated in other parts of Sudan, including the restive Darfur region in the west of the country.

On Thursday, eyewitnesses reported in El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur state, that "clashes took place between the army and the Rapid Support Forces for the second day in a row with various types of weapons."

El Geneina residents fled towards the Sudanese-Chadian border to avoid violence, the witnesses added.

Looting and burning of homes spread in El Geneina, according to a statement Wednesday by the United Nations, which said that "about 50,000 children suffer from acute malnutrition after food support was disrupted due to the fighting."

On his way to the border with neighboring Egypt, Ashraf, a Sudanese who fled Khartoum, called on the two feuding officers to "stop the war". "The Sudanese are suffering and they don't deserve this," the 50-year-old told AFP in the middle of the northern desert.

"It is your war, not the war of the Sudanese people," he added.

With the intensification of fighting in several Sudanese cities, a large number of those trapped in the country face severe shortages of food, water and electricity, as well as frequent interruptions in communication services.

The United Nations estimates the number of people fleeing due to the war in Sudan to neighboring countries such as South Sudan and Chad at about 270,000.

A large number of Sudanese also ventured out of the capital on long and arduous journeys to Egypt in the north and Ethiopia in the east.
The United Nations has received "reports of tens of thousands of people arriving in Central Africa, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia and South Sudan."

Foreign governments from around the world have in recent days organized land convoys, planes and ships to evacuate thousands of their citizens from the battle-torn country.

In this context, the French authorities announced Thursday that the French Navy had transferred nearly 400 foreigners from Sudan to Saudi Arabia, bringing the number of people evacuated by Paris since the beginning of the crisis to more than 900.

In London, British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly called on British citizens wishing to leave Sudan to leave "now". London had evacuated 536 people on Wednesday evening on six planes, according to the Foreign Office

Other flights are scheduled for Thursday, before the truce ends.

A state of complete chaos prevailed in Sudan in light of a fragile ceasefire, while Ahmed Haroun, an aide to the ousted former President Omar al-Bashir, announced on Tuesday that he had escaped from prison with other former officials. The army confirmed that Bashir himself was being held in a hospital where he was taken before the fighting began.

Harun was imprisoned in Kober prison in Khartoum. He is wanted by an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court for "crimes against humanity" and "genocide" in the Darfur region in western Sudan.

The army overthrew Omar Al-Bashir under the weight of massive popular protests against him in 2019, and arrested along with his aides and the most prominent pillars of his regime.

Al-Bashir was in the same prison. In 2021, the Sudanese authorities, in which civilians were participating at the time, signed an agreement with the International Criminal Court to extradite Al-Bashir and his aides, but the extradition process has not yet taken place.
Al-Burhan and Daglo carried out a coup in October 2021, during which civilians were overthrown.
Soon, a struggle for power emerged between them, leading to the bloody battles that erupted 13 days ago.

President of S Korea shows his singing talent at the White House

South Korean President Yoon Sok Yul ended his visit to the White House on Wednesday with a singing performance that won the admiration of his American counterpart, Joe Biden.

During a dinner hosted by Biden in Yul's honor, after bilateral talks on more serious topics, including a warning by the two presidents to North Korea that any nuclear attack on its part would lead to the "end" of Pyongyang's regime, Yun showed his passion for American music.

"We know 'American Pie' is one of your favorite songs," Biden said, taking his guest to the stage to listen closely to the musicians as they played Don McClain's song.

"Yes, that's right," said Yul, who is passionate about karaoke, in response to Biden, referring to the song "American Pie" that he liked since it was released in 1971 when he was still in school.

Biden replied, "We'd love to hear the song in your voice." The South Korean president only grabbed the microphone and said, "I haven't performed it for a long time, but (...)".

And Yul sang some clips of the song without accompanying music, and he was met with applause from those present, while Biden and his wife seemed happy.
"At the next state dinner, you're going to live the party," Biden joked. "I had no idea you were singing."

After performing the song, Biden presented Leon with a guitar, which was sent and signed by Don McClain, who was unable to attend the dinner.
Some of the pioneers of communication sites praised the singing talent of the South Korean president.

This isn't the first time Yoon has performed publicly. During the 2021 presidential campaign, he was a guest on the famous South Korean program “All the Butlers” and performed the song “No One Else” by singer Lee Seung Chul.

Palestinian official warns of escalation

The deputy head of the Fatah movement, Mahmoud Al-Aloul, confirmed today, Thursday, that the continuous settler violations in the Palestinian lands and holy sites, with the participation of the leaders of the extremist Israeli government, lead to an all-out religious war.

Al-Aloul said in statements to the "Voice of Palestine" radio station, "The crisis began with the beginning of the month of Ramadan, and it is a frenzied crisis launched by the occupation authorities and herds of settlers towards the holy places, and they carry out their religious rituals in an effort to impose new facts."

He added, "Smotrich's visit to the evacuated settlement is not an easy matter, and it is Palestinian territory, and all these actions of the Israeli occupation government are systematic actions to end the Palestinian presence."

Al-Aloul stressed that the bond in the holy places is a patriotic duty for everyone who is able to reach the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, to bind it and defend it.

He stressed that this reality cannot continue like this, and that the Palestinian people will not stand silent in the face of these policies and will confront them with all force.

Females have less access to the internet in poorer countries

A UNICEF report stated that the Internet is available to 90% of adolescent girls and young women in the poorest countries, in a higher percentage than that of males within the same age group, stressing the role that education plays in this disparity.

In 2020, UNICEF and the International Telecommunication Union indicated that only 37% of young people, that is, people between the ages of 15 and 24, worldwide had access to the Internet at home.

However, this estimated percentage "disguises significant disparities between males and females related to the availability of equipment, the use of the Internet and digital skills within families," according to a UNICEF report published on Wednesday.

The United Nations Children's Fund examined Internet usage data from surveys conducted in 54 countries, primarily in low-income and some middle-income countries.

The result was that "90% of adolescent girls and young women between the ages of 15 and 24 (about 65 million people) in low-income countries do not use the Internet, compared to 78% of adolescents and young men of the same age group (about 57 million)", according to the figures. estimated by the report.

"Closing the gap between the two numbers requires not only access to the Internet and technology, but also empowering girls to become innovators, creators and leaders," UNICEF Director of Education Robert Jenkins said in a statement.

Although girls generally have better reading-related skills than boys, this does not translate into the digital field, according to the report.

UNICEF indicated in the report that "adolescent girls and young women in these countries are neglected in terms of digital literacy," stressing the importance of the family environment and education in this case.

"If we want to address the inequality between females and males in the labor market, specifically in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, we should start immediately to help the youth group, especially girls, so that they acquire digital skills," Jenkins said.

The report pointed out that the gap is wide with regard to the availability of mobile phones as well. In the 41 countries surveyed, girls and women between the ages of 15 and 24 were "mostly deprived" of phones, with an average of 13% likely to own a mobile phone, "which limits their digital access," which necessary in the twenty-first century economy.

Importance of Regular school attendance

Jerusalem Hadith

Opinion Writer

We have said more than once that Palestine is one of the first countries in the world in terms of education and that illiteracy is almost completely gone, and that many of its children are distinguished in the Arab world and internationally on the scientific and cultural level. More than that, the Palestinians have had a great positive role in helping other Arab countries in the educational field, and this is a clear issue. It is well known and no one ignores it.

In this educational year, the educational process was disturbed, strikes prevailed, education was disrupted, and schools were closed for a relatively long period, which led to widespread confusion and fear of losing the entire educational year. The salaries and financial allocations were the only reason that called for the strike of the educational bodies in many schools.

The government communicated with educational institutions, and it was agreed that the financial problems were resolved according to the government’s capabilities in this context, because the government does not deduct from the allocations and does not try to reduce the importance and responsibility of male and female teachers, but the weak government financial capabilities and the obvious deficit in this context lead to financial problems, although the government She does not want it, but she is forced to do so.

The strike disrupted the educational process and caused an academic catastrophe, but the sincere intentions of the government and the teaching staff led to an understanding and the resumption of order in all schools in the West Bank. The Tawjihi exam will be held on time, and the strike period will be compensated.

We support and bless this step, and we hope that more understanding and cooperation will take place in the service of the country and future generations. Education is a vital and essential basis in the life and future of our people.

The disaster in Sudan saddens everyone!!
Sudan is an Arab country full of natural resources and was theoretically considered the treasury of the Arab world, but unfortunately it was previously exposed to fateful issues that led to the secession of its south and the establishment of an independent state in the separate section in the name of the state of South Sudan.

These days, what is left of this brotherly country is on fire, and the various tribes and factions are fighting. Hundreds of dead and thousands of wounded have fallen, and many institutions and geographical locations are being destroyed. The division is deepening between the tribal leaders, and there is a possibility of new divisions.

Although the warring parties theoretically reached a three-day truce during Eid al-Fitr, the fighting did not stop, and the crisis did not abate, and it does not appear to be on the way to a solution.

Despite what we suffer from the occupation and its practices, the Sudanese tragedy makes us suffer and follow what is happening in this brotherly country.

And from the heart of Palestine, the country of the Isra’ and Mi’raj, and the Dome of the Rock, we pray that this tragedy ends and that the various parties agree to resolve the bloody conflict that is neither justified nor necessary, and that all differences can be resolved through understanding, democracy and cooperation, and this is what we hope for brotherly Sudan as soon as possible.

Reproducing the fabricated image of Zionism

Antoine Shalhat

Antoine Shalhat

Opinion Writer

Saying that one of the most prominent goals of the protest movement against the legislation plan that the current Israeli government is trying to advance, aimed at weakening the judicial system, is not to prejudice the fabricated image that the Zionist movement has produced of itself, and has become accepted by many countries, as tantamount to exposing the hidden. The goal constitutes, from the beginning, the religion and religion of the leaders of this movement, including politicians and activists.

It can be added that one of their most important goals is embodied in the reproduction of Zionism by asserting that its geneology indicates that it is a movement for the national liberation of the Jewish people, which established a “democratic oasis” in the authoritarian desert of the East, which still bears the connotation of a “villa in the forest”, as it expresses the view of Israel. And most of its Jewish population to the Middle East, where barbarism, devastation, backwardness and fundamentalism prevail around them, while they are only, in their "village", civilized and advanced, as one of the former prime ministers, Ehud Barak, repeated after the Arab Spring in 2011. He is the one who finally returned with force to Spotlight, as one of the leaders of the protests against the plan to weaken the judiciary.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of Israel, which fell on yesterday, the day before yesterday he published an article in Haaretz newspaper, in which he considered that the aforementioned plan carries within it a coup against Zionism, as it is the rescue ship that fulfilled the dream of the return of the Jews to their historical homeland. He stressed that despite the ancient peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan and the fresh Abrahamic normalization agreements, which could expand, the Middle East has always been a harsh and hostile environment. Israel should not underestimate any threat, and it must prepare for future tests, including threats from Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas, noting that the Palestinian Authority is moving more and more away from meeting Israeli expectations from it.

Perhaps it should also be noted that although the doors of protests were closed to those calling for a link between the current movement and the future of peace by abandoning the occupation and its ideology, few voices among the Israelis themselves crept in from unofficial outlets, confirming that the insistence of most of the protest leaders and activists on the goal of defense On the "only democracy in the Middle East", if it does not reflect, in depth, a desire for Israel to turn into a normal state subject to all United Nations resolutions and international legitimacy, then it will remain suspected of being the kind of insistence that aims to continue circumventing its being An apartheid state, as confirmed recently by several international and Israeli human rights organizations, in direct connection with its establishment on the crimes of ethnic cleansing in 1948 and with the occupation in 1967.

Can it be said, in light of this, that this issue will continue to be subject to a process of accumulation?... If the establishment of Israel reminds us of the Palestinian Nakba, then we should recall here, and on the occasion of the anniversary of this founding, that the use of the term Nakba in the Israeli discourse circulated to depict cases Most of the disasters, he went through a similar process of entering through unofficial windows, and of accumulating to some extent. This is despite the fact that many governmental and popular measures were taken to counter this matter, culminating in the enactment of the “Nakba Law” in 2011, which aims to prevent the commemoration of the Palestinian Nakba, and to suppress initiatives to teach the country’s history differently from the Israeli narrative.

Conversely, it can be said that these silencing attempts kept the issue alive as an open wound that could flare up at any moment. As a matter of fact, following up on the uses of the word Nakba in Hebrew in its Arabic pronunciation has one measure of wit and another of seriousness. Among them, the Israeli poet Yonatan Geffen, who died this week and was previously subjected to a right-wing terrorist attack, because of his political stances, described the re-election of Benjamin Netanyahu in 2015 by saying that “the people chose again who bases their rule on intimidating the people,” considering that the day of the elections is “a catastrophe for the camp.” peace"! The new kamikazes, the next danger to Russia and China

The two prisoners, Yasser Abu Bakr and Murad Humaidan

The two prisoners, Yasser Abu Bakr and Murad Humaidan

Opinion Writer

On October 28, 2022 AD, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth published an article entitled "The New Kamikazes" in its appendix, referring to the Iranian-made suicide drones that struck Ukraine. In this part, we review the most important things that can be mentioned and commented on in this context:

1- The author of the article followed a zigzag path, up and down, and down throughout the pages of his long article, between the feeling of terror and the dilemma experienced by the Israelis and their military and security institutions in front of the development of Iranian capabilities on the one hand, and between the attempts to underestimate the simple technology that the Iranians have reached on the other hand.

2- At the same time, he was reaching results that aroused many concerns in him, which came in the form of many questions he raised in the context of his article; To confirm that "the Jews are not the only ones who have minds", and to confirm that the face of the next war will change.

3- The writer conveys and confirms the state of balance of terror imposed by the Iranians on Israel despite his focus on one issue, which is the drones, and at the same time tries to reassure the Israeli public by stressing that Israel has succeeded in developing its defense systems and is continuing to develop them, the latest of which is the laser system, then he cannot deny The state of panic, terror and astonishment that the Israelis will enter into if Hezbollah, Iran's arm in the region, one day manages to strike the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, an expression that hides much of what works in the hearts of the Israelis in terms of panic and terror.

4- This article and the previous and subsequent articles, reports, statements and political analyzes come to confirm that the Israeli government, army and people now consider that the first strategic threat that threatens it is coming from Iran, and not from the conflict with the Palestinians, especially after its internal security has been significantly strengthened through the absence of operations The guerrilla movement, especially the explosive one, is internal. Today, only 8% of the Israeli people (according to the latest polls) consider that the most important issue in Israel is the conflict with the Palestinians.

5- "Ehud Ya'ari," the Israeli political analyst on the Israeli channel 12, considered that the war with Iran is ongoing, and the form of war that the Iranians want with Israel is not direct confrontation, but rather through the use of its arms in the region to occupy Israel in it, and considered that the missiles that were launched from Lebanon On 4-9-2023 AD on northern Israel, the Hamas rockets launched from Gaza and the operations in the West Bank, the latest of which was the shooting of three settlements in Al-Jiftlik, all of which come within the framework of this war that Iran is supporting.

6- The attack on Jerusalem and the worshipers in Al-Aqsa during Ramadan, despite its seriousness, turned into a transient event when all eyes were intentionally directed towards the Iranian threat, which stands with its Hezbollah arm behind the missile launches from Lebanon.

7- The official and unofficial Israeli discourse directed its accusations publicly at Hamas and secretly at Hezbollah, which created a balance of terror with Israel more than anyone else, and behind it Iran. All of this confirms that Iran is the target today for Israel and is the danger that must be eliminated.

8- Under the title “The Address is Tehran” in an article by the Israeli writer Yossi Yehoshua on 4-9-2023 AD in the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, it stated: “With the deliberations and discussions that the Israeli army held in the past days, the army presented a clear position in which it said: We In direct confrontation with the Iranians, who are trying to heat up all fronts, and who have turned the Palestinians into their special envoy for terrorism in the West Bank and Gaza and among the Arabs of Israel.

9- The same writer adds in the same article: "The right opportunity has come for the Iranians to pay Israel the price for its attack on the lands of Syria and Iran, and that this is with supreme instructions from Khamenei."

10- Thus, matters become more and more clear. The title is Tehran, and Israel is preparing for its next war with it.

11- There is no doubt that Israel is one of the most important arms producers in the world, especially high-tech weapons, which made many countries feel compelled to strengthen their relations with them, with the aim of obtaining advanced weapons, which enabled them to be among the central countries.

12- The central countries, in which knowledge has become the essential element, work to reproduce underdevelopment by widening the gap between them and the peripheral countries and not enabling them to achieve sustainable development, which is what preserves the future of Israel in the Middle East as a center.

13- Normalization (in other words, normalization) with the countries of the Middle East region, especially the Arabs, comes as a result of Israeli superiority and within the context of consolidating the political, military and economic role of Israel as a center and keeping other economies in the region as parties to a sustainable backwardness belonging to this center.

14- The strength of such a force, according to this strategy, will curb the movement of the enemies. Therefore, any Iranian move that tries to get out of the position of the peripheral states and towards approaching the influential regional center countries in the region will be met with a strong reaction from the influential central state in the region (Israel), which pushes Israel To work in several directions:

■ First: Continuing to develop, produce knowledge and modern weapons, and contain global technology and continuous development in it.

■ Second: Continuing to open the horizons of "normalization" with the Arab countries and the countries of the region and developing them to the extent that it facilitates luring the economies of these countries to become dependent and unable to disengage from the Israeli political and economic influence and under the tutelage of the Israeli military and security policy.

■ Third: Continuing to drag the United States of America to support it in its anti-Iranian tendencies and development of its military capabilities, by escalating sanctions against it and strangling its economy.

■ Fourth: Continuing to strike and pursue Iran's arms in the region and on all fronts assumed by Israel, whether in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon or Syria.

15- A military strike against Iran is a matter of time, and the prerequisites for that are clear, which is represented by the continuation of sanctions on Iran and their gradual doubling, similar to what happened in Saddam’s Iraq when the military strike was prepared for with sanctions that lasted 13 years.

16- The delay in this strike stems from the American-Israeli need to ensure that there is no threat to Israel's security as a result of the strike, especially from Hezbollah and perhaps Hamas.

17- Therefore, America and Israel are active in attempts to dismantle or dissolve these parties from within and preoccupy them with their internal affairs by creating internal conflicts that dissipate efforts to develop tools of military resistance in them, and preoccupy them with efforts to preserve governance and power:

A- It can be pointed out that the continuation of the Palestinian division and the sharp disagreement between Fatah and Hamas and the attempts to annihilate it have become an Israeli-American supreme security issue to neutralize their danger and push the Palestinian cause into a dark corner and on the sidelines of the issues that the world aspires to resolve.

B- It is also possible to refer to the continuation of the Lebanese sectarian division and the sharp disagreement between Hezbollah and the rest of the parties of other sects in Lebanon, and attempts to deepen it, which is also an Israeli-American supreme security interest aimed at neutralizing the threat of Hezbollah's military power.

18- What Israel is doing on a daily basis of high-accuracy security intelligence penetration into Syria and its attack on convoys carrying weapons for Hezbollah - according to its claim - and its attempts to prevent Hezbollah from obtaining technologies to improve the performance of its missiles and make them more accurate, and Israel's development of its defense systems against missiles and drones and monitoring Billions of dollars for that, all in preparation for what's to come.

19- The balance of terror that Iran creates through its arms, especially Hezbollah, forces Israel to sit squatting, waiting for the moment when these arms are neutralized from the next battlefield, to pounce on Iran. Undoubtedly, it will be a severe strike that will destroy all of Iran's nuclear and military facilities.

20- The goal is Tehran, and behind this goal is deterring everyone around it or supporting it. Therefore, Israel is the next danger, not only to the region, but also to Russia and China, and this is what you must understand.

Regulating cultural and ethical rules, a condition and a condition at the same time

the first episode

At the outset, he realized that this section is an introduction to the second section, which is the basis and engine of this approach, which he opened by saying:

The Palestinian is no longer an orphan. Now there is a broad map of real movements, states and leaders that put Palestine on their agenda, which necessitated not only the law of siding with justice and rejecting injustice, despite the importance of this moral factor, but also to chart the future of the region. Palestine is positioned in the face of racist colonialism and imperial domination, and therefore it is a cornerstone of the resistance front, which has proven its ability to withstand, clash and build up in a way that really qualifies it to draw the future of the region, not as an ideological slogan as was the case before, but rather as a directed ideological slogan and practical capabilities, and this can only be By passing through the Palestinian gate.

In order not to repeat what I have published in previous articles, this text will go to other areas, beginning with the indication that the Palestinian people are here to stay, as was the case with dozens of peoples who were subjected to colonialism and were included in the stage of national liberation after the Second World War. Palestinian history is missing, but today it stands at the turning point of a new phase. Just as the illusions (that Palestine is without a people) and (the old ones die and the young are forgotten) and (normalization without the Palestinian) as part of (Abraham’s plan to besiege and confront Iran) and (the Arabs submit to force) and (Lebanon is the beginning of a new Middle East) and (the fall of Damascus paves the way for For the fall of Baghdad and Tehran), and on the other hand, the American strategy shifted from (military occupation) to (a strategy of inciting an extremist religious force to ignite the fire and then seize it) published by the American press in 2013 and from it to (the intellectual soft war strategy to aggravate the internal situation...) in addition to that the permissibility of all What is Palestinian, all new plans will fail, but why?

Not because the Palestinians are more than 15 million and cling to the banner of struggle, and if one arm bends, another arm rises, and if one generation passes, another generation replaces it. Habash, but for the objective factor, which is the most weighty and effective, i.e. the blowing of new winds and a new spirit over the region and the world, a new phase whose title is the decline of the hegemony, prestige and power of the powers and monopolies that hijacked history in recent decades and plundered and humiliated the globe from one end to the other. This stage leaves and is formed in its wombs Stage factors that witness the rise of forces, systems, and peoples seeking liberation and sovereignty (the forces of national liberation, independent development, and the forces of social and cultural liberation). . This is so far excluded.

Accordingly, no matter how hard yesterday's forces tried to crucify history during yesterday's stage, they will not succeed. Did feudalism, its ideology, its nobles, and its palaces succeed in preventing the capitalist transformation, whose intentions began in Italy in the sixteenth century and intensified in Britain in the seventeenth century, and its drama was manifested in the French Revolution of 1789 and the subsequent changes? Did the forces of colonialism and capitalism succeed in preventing the decline of colonialism and the independence of dozens of colonies, and did the invasion of 14 European armies succeed in smashing “the egg before it hatched”?

That is, there are three major failures (the failure of feudalism and its ideology, which lasted for hundreds and hundreds of years, the failure of colonialism, and the failure of deep classes and institutions in tsarist Russia.

And closer to that, have the conspiracies, sanctions, demonization campaigns, and misinformation succeeded in overthrowing, dismantling, or paralyzing the Iranian Republic, and blocking the road to its independence project and its possession of the factors that made it a regional power, the backbone, and the vital support for the axis of resistance?

The wise d. Since the outbreak of the Iranian revolution in 1979, Habash has stated more than once that it is a (progressive revolution), as it enjoys a broad popular base and is not just an elite or a coup. km 2 and the second country in terms of gas reserves.

The thinker Karim Marwa wrote about alliances in the Arab environment, while the philosopher Alexander Dugin crystallized a vision of multipolarity and alliances on a global level, including the Middle East region, in line with Mao Zedong's saying (from reality to awareness, and from awareness to practice). Human beings make their own history and social awareness. And their choices...

The new winds and the new spirit are a combination of profound transformations that go far in the right to self-determination, getting rid of the dictates of the imperial center, the culture of excessive selfishness and unbridled arrogance, the acquisition of 3% of most of the wealth of the globe, 25% of humanity below the poverty line, 800 unemployed, and 900 million who drink polluted water. Hundreds of millions live in shanty towns, slums, and destructive social pests... Not to mention the spread of wars, the most important of which is the Atlantic war against Russia, i.e. the "blood mill in Ukraine" by a Russian academic.

This war puts history at a turning point and establishes a new stage. And Engels, who predicted in the late nineteenth century "the fall of dozens of crowns." There are sufficient grounds to say that the power of multinational and transnational monopolies will recede and evaporate oligarchy and the local tools associated with it in many countries, and this is observed today in Latin America (10% of humanity). ) And in Russia and Pakistan (a nuclear country with 220 million people) and rebellions in more than one African country... I dare not say that whoever does not adapt to the new winds will find himself in a clash with the direction of the movement of history.

Whoever follows the official Chinese documents notices without much trouble that China is not only turning into the world’s factory, but also a hub for technology and the last leaps of the technical and digital revolution and the ability to implement development projects in the “periphery countries” at costs that do not reach half of the costs of Western capitalist companies and based on (the priorities of these countries and without conditions political and on the basis of mutual benefit, at a time when the human culture against Americanized globalization is growing (in the most important meeting for the establishment of capitalist globalization in which 116 monopolies participated, including more than 100 American monopolies) backed, of course, by the United States Press and the Associated Press, the two Americas that have the most media influence over the human mind through Its control over the news and most of the movies and programs, not to mention social media and the virtual world.

The programs of the Chinese Communist Party are explicit (building socialism with Chinese characteristics) for about 1.5 billion people, led by a party of 97 million, most of whom are youth organizations. China is proud of its wisdom and longevity, as it does not rush into war (Fidel Castro criticized the Iraqi leadership: You should not have provoked war, and it is better first to unify the home front, and if you wage war, you must continue it to the end ....) and America will obviously not raise the banner of hegemony and globalization on its own However, whatever it does, it will not be able to stop the Chinese development project and the winds of sovereignty and social transformations that are knocking on the doors of large areas of the globe, including the Middle East region, just as it was not helped by suffocating Venezuela, whose people were about to breathe due to inflation that reached thousands of percent and the overthrow of the Cuban regime, including He points to the limits of their ability, for it is not destiny, and people, like individuals, can sometimes be crammed into conditions in which life and death are equal. I have personally known two experiences in prisons, when they become more rebellious and valiant.

In the coming years, the Chinese fortress will have reverberations and influences all over the world, even if it currently appears cautious and non-offensive in connection with the data of the moment and the balance of power without skipping over its role in the Iranian-Saudi reconciliation and its dynamics, but it will not stop expanding its role and presence (to build a better and more just society for humanity) Chi Ping And this is not fanfare without grinding, but it is based on various capabilities (we are capable) two words that Che Ping repeated while cruising in his vehicle on the military sectors on the anniversary of the victory of the revolution, and a national production amounted to 26 trillion dollars, which exceeded for the first time the American national production (22 trillion) Herald Tribune knowing that The Chinese nation before the victory of the revolution in 1949 was composed of 99% of the illiterate peasants, and its first university was founded in 1919...

Going back to history, after the unification of the Greek kingdoms, Greece swept Europe and the East, and after the Roman Empire aligned itself with Christianity, its authority and ideology became consolidated throughout Europe and the East for centuries, and by consecrating the Islamic call in the time of Umar ibn al-Khattab, the state, its language and beliefs expanded despite the setback that befell it with the assassination of Ali ibn Abi Talib and what he represented and killed. His family (Ahl al-Bayt - Khaled Muhammad Khaled).

And with the unification of France (72 principalities and provinces), the bourgeois revolution and the nation-state were inaugurated and spread to Europe (so the state was unified in Germany, consisting of 51 states, as well as Italy and large areas...) This is the case of the Russian revolution of 1917, which said a new theoretical statement that the victory of the socialist revolution can be achieved in a weak link (half bourgeoisie and half feudalism, half colony and half colony) Lenin, and this is a great lesson learned by many nations and peoples, and with the victory of the Iranian revolution led by Supreme Leader Khomeini, its influence extended to the region and more than that, to the point that it is not possible to examine the region of the Middle East if the analysis does not start from the regional power The rising trend and its serious intersections with the Chinese process, the Russian trench, and all the anti-hegemonic and dependent forces that are surrounded in the Arab world and the world of the South...

Representative Imad Al-Adwan

Regardless of the motives of Representative Imad Al-Adwan for smuggling weapons to Palestine, whether they were political or commercial, there remain basics that must be paid attention to, taken into account, and firmly adhered to, which are:

1- Representative Adwan is an elected Jordanian representative, a member of the House of Representatives, so he represents all of us, and we must stand with him, support him, and show solidarity in order to form headlines of pressure demanding his release.

2- His case and his clash with a national, national, religious and human enemy, he cannot be trusted, he does not have the credibility to rely on him, and to collect information from him as the only source on the issue of aggression.

3- As long as the Jordanian ambassador met him at the site of his arrest, this means that contacts with the other party are moving towards addressing the issue, as the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

The representative made a mistake when he allowed the colony’s apparatus to search his car. I visited Palestine dozens of times when I was an MP, and I refused to search my car, on the basis of reciprocity, as Israeli Knesset members are not searched during their visits to Jordan, and on one of the visits they insisted on searching my cars, and I refused. I returned from the bridge, and the Jordanian embassy intervened, and I returned the next day without inspection. Of course, we must know that they have electronic detection devices capable of giving information about the presence of weapons in the car, without being subjected to manual searches, and therefore it was more useful for the respected representative to refuse the inspection and return. To the bridge, without being exposed to what he was exposed to.

The ruling party in the colony is hostile to Jordan, for several reasons:

First, we have succeeded in making the issue of Jerusalem and the Islamic and Christian sanctities a global issue that receives attention, especially after Jordan formed a political spearhead against the decision of the defeated US President Trump when he announced his recognition of unified Jerusalem as the capital of the Israeli colony on 6/12/2017.

Secondly, when Jordan publicly rejected the plan of the defeated US President Trump, the "Plan of the Century", which he announced with the head of the colonial government, Netanyahu, in Washington on 1/28/2020.

Third, due to Jordan’s refusal to renew the annexes of the peace treaty and return the lands of Al-Baqoura in the north and the lands of Al-Ghamr in the south on 11/10/2019.

Fourth: Continuing work on the Arab and international arenas to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in their homeland, and support their struggle to restore their national rights, on the land of their homeland, and to establish their independent state.

Fifth, work on the continuity of the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, as a symbol and title for the survival of the refugee issue, because the refugees constitute half of the Palestinian people and their cause is still pending and alive in accordance with International Resolution 194, which indicates their right to return to the cities and villages from which they were expelled, and to regain their possessions from, in and on it.

For all of this, why does the colony and its tools not work to embarrass Jordan by harming representative sovereign symbols of consideration, as it did with the Jordanian ambassador in an attempt to harass him and prevent him from visiting the Temple Mount, in response to Jordanian policies that clash with the policies of the colony, especially under the politically extremist Israeli administration And religiously led??.

In all cases, whether the case of Representative Imad Al-Adwan is political or commercial, he must be released, released, and returned to his country, as previously happened with Israeli employees who committed legal transgressions in Jordan. They were released because they have diplomatic immunity, which is the obligatory characteristic that a representative enjoys. Imad Adwan.

Educational loss .. causes, manifestations and solutions

The fortune of Zaid Al-Kilani

The fortune of Zaid Al-Kilani

Opinion Writer

The educational loss is represented by the gap between what was planned (the intended curriculum); knowledge, skills and attitudes, and what the students actually acquired (the acquired curriculum), and that the actual time for education is less than the planned time; Reduction in the number of hours and days of formal education.

The causes of educational loss (cognitive, social, and emotional) are represented in the closure of schools completely and partially for varying periods, and the students’ lack of access to education in its natural way. Barriers spread throughout the country, or deliberate demolitions of schools, destruction of their infrastructure, and tampering with the appropriate educational learning environment in that, violating international norms and laws, especially the International Covenants on Civil and Political Rights and Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which have made it clear that parents, As a matter of priority, the right to choose the type of education that is given to their children, the right of every individual to education, and the necessity of directing education and education to the full development of the human personality and the sense of its dignity, and to strengthening respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and that the occupying power criminalizes acts of aggression, infringement, or Other manifestations of violations that may affect educational institutions, and to prosecute those who committed such acts, planned them, or ordered their implementation, and hold them accountable.

There are reasons related to emergency conditions, as is the case with the Corona pandemic, which left great impacts on the educational scene in all its fields, in addition to the teachers’ protests and their refusal to perform their duties for various reasons, and there are cases related to environmental conditions in winter and summer, and other cases related to the various occasions that take place. It was not included in the annual school calendar, and the decision to reduce class time from 45 to 40 minutes since 2007 has increased the time of educational loss, and other reasons related to the economic and social fields, and reasons related to curricula, teaching principles, and the decline in the rate of cooperative learning in favor of the learning rate. Individuals, the increase in the size of the gap and disparity between countries with a high rate of human development, and developing countries, and inequality in the availability of the necessary learning resources at home at the technological level, and others, and the ability to self-study.

Among the most prominent manifestations of educational loss and its indicators in the field of knowledge is the increase in the school dropout rate for reasons related to cognitive performance, the low achievement of students in school tests, the decline in students’ performance in the main skills of the various investigations in all classes, the decline in students’ achievement in higher thinking skills, and the focus on superficial knowledge. Decreased motivation and continuity in learning, widening gaps in individual differences among students, stumbles in education, academic delays, and an increase in the proportion of those who cannot read and write.

As for the most prominent manifestations of social and emotional loss, it is represented in the increase in cases of psychological instability and self-confidence of students (anxiety, fear, tension, ...), the frequent absence of them from their schools in part or in whole, and the increase in school dropouts for reasons not related to cognitive performance, and the emergence of many cases School violence between students themselves, and between students and their teachers, low participation in various community and sports activities, weak desire to be in school, and reluctance to perform tasks that require cooperation between peers.

The plan to recover from the educational loss (compensating students) is of great importance, especially after years of irregularity in the educational process during the (Corona) pandemic crisis, in which students did not attend their schools for about two years normally, in addition to the irregularity of education resulting from teachers’ refusal to perform their duties for periods of time. Therefore, the plan for catch-up education or recovery from educational loss must take into account the diversity of recovery programs suitable for each category of students, using measurement tools that allow determining the amount and quality of educational loss, and moving away from unified recovery programs for all students, regardless of Considering the amount and type of losses they suffer from, compensating for alternative learning styles that are compatible with the new situation, and replacing them, and the effective employment of all technological means, such as e-learning and distance learning as a strategic option to overcome the difficulties of that stage, and activate the role of educational counselors; To reduce the negative psychological effects of students and all parties to the educational community, to communicate in appropriate ways with students who suffer from the negative effects of educational loss and its repercussions, especially those with disabilities and students in remote areas, to build bridges of cooperation with all local community institutions, to formulate real and effective partnership opportunities, and to provide opportunities Appropriate for the development of administrative creativity in the educational field, and the delegation of powers.

Recommendations:
1- Adopting strategies to recover from educational loss, represented in the strategy of prolonging learning time, where additional time is allocated for high-quality learning time, targeting all students according to their levels, attendance is mandatory, and negative aspects such as exhaustion and stress are avoided; So that the school secures additional time for learning about one or two periods of daily additional supportive lessons according to the reality of each school (flexibly), or / and take advantage of Saturdays, or / extend the school year, or / and return students to schools after completing the general secondary exam, and re- The time of the class is reduced to 45 minutes as it was before 2007 AD, and other than that, which allows additional time for learning, and the interaction of students in a warm and attractive learning environment.

2- Accelerating students’ learning significantly in both mathematics and reading in the first basic stage, especially those who fail, and in mathematics, Arabic, and science in other grades, and focus on basic concepts and skills in which performance has declined according to the results of diagnostic tests and school tests. Using the services of applicants for teaching jobs (role lists); To provide support to the original teacher (supportive teacher), after subjecting them to quick training in exchange for relatively low wages, and calculating their work period, as substitutes when hiring.

3- Adopting differentiation methodologies among students by matching education according to students’ proficiency levels in basic skills, regardless of grade, and grouping them in an allotted time; With the aim of accelerating education, taking into account that not all students receive the same educational topics at the same time, and allocating educational content according to the varying needs of students, and the lack of each of them in basic competencies and skills, and employing individual educational strategies (individualizing education), and compensating for the lack of acquisitions necessary for the class and beyond. , and it depends mainly on the teacher.

4- Determining the basic skills and concepts that are tantamount to previous learning for the following years, and focusing on the outcomes. It is possible to use the educational packages that were prepared in the Corona pandemic, and to design evaluation mechanisms that go beyond the traditional evaluation based on answering multiple choice questions, or answering with (true / false). ), or drafting some paragraphs, and turning to the original evaluation, achievement files, performance tasks, peer evaluation, or self-evaluation, which can reflect the skills and competencies that are really acquired, in the process of being acquired, or not acquired by the learners.

5- Diversity in learning strategies, such as the flipped classroom strategy; By effectively integrating technology into the educational-learning process, where the flipped classroom relies on transferring the learning process outside the classroom, allocating class time for more learning activities, and employing digital technology strategy; Depending on electronic applications and technological programs that contribute to the individualization of education.

6- Adopting strategies for recovering from social and emotional loss, such as the strategy of supportive and sustainable relationships with a surrounding adult, and home visits; To enhance communication between the school administration and health and educational counseling officials on the one hand, and the families of students affected by the pandemic on the other hand, and the cooperative learning strategy (we learn together) that relies on preparing educational situations that allow learners opportunities for cooperation and interaction in educational groups using the (Jigsaw) method, and preparing them, or Group Investigation, and the project-based learning strategy, which contributes to the development of the spirit of teamwork and cooperation, and promotes the spirit of free competition through individual projects, and also contributes to the development of self-confidence, love of work, responsibility, acquisition of life skills, dialogue and discussion strategy , and others.

7- Availability of an educational cadre with the necessary competencies with high efficiency, capable of bringing about the desired development, raising the capabilities of in-service workers according to their needs, and moving towards creative and innovative education.

8- Availability of sufficient physical and financial resources to bring about the required development, and the appropriate infrastructure capable of responding to appropriate education strategies.

9- Employing the database (educational platforms) in various fields (curriculum, education strategies, student files, ...), in a way that contributes to employing the appropriate educational style for students, and providing technological requirements according to needs.

England Championship: City hits Arsenal with four and threatens his dream of a long-awaited title

Manchester City once again outperformed its guest, Arsenal, and achieved its third victory over it this season, by sweeping it 4-1 on Wednesday in the 33rd stage, to seriously threaten the “Gunners” dream of a first title in the English Football League since 2004.

And after he returned victorious from the “Emirates Stadium” 1-0 in the fourth round of the cup, City beat Arsenal 3-1 at the latter’s stadium also on February 15 in the postponed match from stage 21, before hitting him again on Wednesday with four, including a double for the Belgian. Kevin De Bruyne and a record goal for the Norwegian Erling Haaland.

The two teams entered the match with the difference between them five points, after it was 11, as a result of Arsenal’s sufficiency in a draw in the past three stages, while City was coming from six consecutive victories in the league and with the spirit of qualifying for the Champions League semi-finals and the FA Cup final as well.

The two teams came out of the match, with Arsenal in the lead, just two points ahead of the team of Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, who also played two matches less than the team of his compatriot and former assistant Mikel Arteta, which makes the “Citizens” strong candidates to retain the title and end the London team’s dream of winning the first since 2004.

But De Bruyne saw that the season "is still long. We know what people said about the winner of this match (his chances of winning the title), but it is very difficult. Many things may happen. We have two matches postponed, but we are still behind them."

As usual, the preference was given to City in this confrontation, similar to the last seven confrontations between the two teams in all competitions, with Arsenal continuing to face its rivals at the league level, as it has not emerged victorious since the end of 2015 (2-1).

City scored less than 7 minutes after the start, thanks to De Bruyne, who received the ball from Haaland, and the Belgian hit it from outside the area into the left corner of Aaron Ramsdale's goal (7).

City continued his advantage and was close to the second goal on more than one occasion, whether it was through De Bruyne or Haaland, who tested Ramsdale from a difficult angle, but the latter shone (32), then responded to a distant attempt by Ghanaian Thomas Partey (35) with a similar one that passed next to the right post ( 36).

The Norwegian was close again to the net in the 41st minute, after a pass from the Portuguese Bernardo Silva, but Ramsdale shone again.
Arsenal thought it had escaped the second goal at the end of the first half after the referee raised the offside flag to cancel John Stones’ header following a free kick carried out by De Bruyne, but the video assistant referee “VAR” confirmed the validity of the goal, so City entered the half-time break ahead with two clean goals (1 + 45). ).

Arsenal's performance improved at the start of the second half, but the most dangerous opportunity was for Halland, who collided again with Ramsdale's brilliance, before turning seconds later into a playmaker by passing the ball to Bruyne's second personal goal and the third to City (54).

In light of the three-goal difference, the pace calmed down in City’s desire to save efforts, which opened the way for Arsenal to reduce the difference late through Rob Holding, after he received the ball from Belgian Lenado Trossard after a corner kick (86).

Haaland refused to end the meeting without leaving his mark with a goal he scored in the last seconds, according to which he alone set the record for the number of goals in a season of 38 games (33, with a goal difference in front of Liverpool’s Egyptian top scorer, Mohamed Salah, a goal away from the absolute record for a season of 42 matches).

Chelsea suffered a fifth defeat out of five matches he has played so far, led by his new-old coach Frank Lampard, and it came at home to Brentford, 0-2.

Lampard began his mission as a temporary coach for the team that starred in its ranks as a player between 2001 and 2014 and supervised it from the summer of 2019 until early 2021 in 2018, by losing its first four matches, two of which were in the league and the same in the Champions League quarter-finals against Real Madrid.

Then the successor of dismissed coach Graham Potter suffered a fifth consecutive defeat on Wednesday, after Chelsea finished the first half, lagging behind with friendly fire through Spaniard Cesar Aspilicueta, who accidentally turned the ball into his own net after a corner kick (37).

Then Brentford won its second successive victory at Stamford Bridge, where it won last season 4-1, by adding the second goal in the 78th minute through Cameroonian substitute Brian Mbomou after a counterattack.

Chelsea's balance froze at 39 points in eleventh place, while Brentford temporarily advanced to ninth place with 47 points.
Liverpool continued its quest to obtain a qualifying position for the Champions League by achieving its third successive victory, and it came at the expense of its host, West Ham, 2-1.

West Ham was the first to score through Brazilian Lucas Paqueta with a wonderful long shot (12), but Liverpool responded quickly through Dutchman Cody Khakpo, who equalized with a long shot as well (18).

Cameroonian Joel Matip gave Liverpool a header after a corner kick (67).

German coach Jürgen Klopp's team raised its tally to 53 points, in sixth place, on goal difference, against Tottenham Hotspur, who hosts Manchester United on Thursday.

And it was a coincidence that Liverpool would face Tottenham on the ground of the first in the next stage in a fateful match for the Champions League struggle, in light of their distance from the fourth United by 6 points.

Nottingham Forest achieved a very important victory for the struggle for survival, thanks to which it rose from the penultimate position to the seventeenth by 30 points, and came at the expense of its guest, Brighton, 3-1.

The landlords were racing to come down pressing since the start of the match, amid the brilliance of German goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

With the start of the second half, Francisco Garcia succeeded in adding Rio Vallecano's second goal in the 53rd minute, when he took advantage of a mistake from the Dutchman Frankie de Jong to cut the ball from him and go off and alone with the goalkeeper and inhabit the net.

And Lewandowski succeeded in scoring the goal of reducing the difference for the Blaugrana in the 83rd minute, when ordinary Frank Kessier started an attack through which he hit a ball that hit the defense, and it rebounded in front of “Leva”, who shot hard into the net, but that did not prevent the Catalans from losing, which appears to be the result of a decline in enthusiasm with The feeling that the league title is within reach.

And Atletico Madrid regained its balance in time and achieved an important victory over its guest, Real Mallorca, 3-1, taking advantage of the severe loss of its arch-neighbor, Real Madrid, to reduce the difference with it to two points.

Although Mallorca opened the scoring through Serbian Matia Nastasic (20), Colchoneros returned from a distance with three turns scored by Argentine Raul de Paul (45 + 2), Alvaro Morata (47), and Belgian Yannick Carrasco (77), knowing that the two goals The first and third were with two assists from the brilliant Frenchman this season, Antoine Griezmann.

By snatching the three points, Atletico strengthened its position in third place with 63 points, two points behind Real II, and 13 points behind the leaders Catalan club.

Also in a second match, Almeria regained the taste of victory after two consecutive losses, by defeating Getafe 2-1.

Almeria achieved this important victory in the battle to move away from the danger zone, thanks to the double of Colombian Luis Soares (7 and 58), while Borja Mayoral scored Getafe's only goal (71).

Almeria raised its score to 33 points in the fifteenth place, while Getafe, who did not win in five consecutive matches, remained in the seventeenth place with 31 points.

Italian Cup: Inter beats Juventus and reaches the final

Inter reached the final match of the Italian Cup in football on Wednesday, by defeating Juventus with a clean goal in the second leg of the semi-final, after the two teams tied 1-1 in the first leg.

The two teams tied in the first leg in Turin when Belgian international striker Romelu Lukaku grabbed a goal for Inter in the fatal time from a penalty kick, after the “Old Lady” team was ahead with a goal by Colombian international defender Juan Cuadrado, who scored in the 83rd minute.

But the decision this time was through defender Federico Di Marco, who scored the winning goal in the 15th minute when he received a wonderful through pass that broke the defense line in the penalty area, from his colleague Nicolo Barella.

Juventus took revenge on Inter, who denied it the title of the competition last year, when it beat it 4-2 in the final match, before dropping it in the Super Cup 2-1.

The cup competition was the only savior for the current season of the two teams, at least locally, in light of their exit from the race to win the league title, which was dominated by Napoli, which was out of the squadron.

But Juventus, who finally revived by suspending the penalty for deducting 15 points from its balance against the background of financial and administrative corruption, and thus regained its third place in the league table with 59 points currently, still holds continental hope, specifically in the European League competition (Europa League), as it will face Seville, Spain. Back and forth to book the final ticket.

On the other hand, Inter is struggling to snatch the fourth place that qualifies for the Champions League next season, and achieved an important victory over Empoli at the end of the week, and returned to the winning streak after five matches in which it did not taste the taste of victory (four defeats and a draw).

In the other semi-final, Fiorentina will land at Cremonese on Thursday, in an effort to reach the final match in which it set foot, by winning the first leg with two clean goals for the Brazilian Artur Cabral and the Argentine Nicolas Gonzales.

Juventus holds the record for the number of coronation times (14), against Roma (9), Inter (8), Lazio (7) and both Fiorentina and Napoli (6).
