Tesla delivers the first batch of electric Semi trucks

SAN FRANCISCO (Xinhua) -- Tesla delivered the first batch of electric Semi trucks to PepsiCo on Thursday at an event at the Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada, USA.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, drove one of three Tesla Semi trucks in front of the audience inside the factory. The event was broadcast live on Twitter, which Musk now owns.

The Semi truck, which was first announced in concept form five years ago, was supposed to start in 2019, but was delayed mainly due to the global shortage of spare parts and the COVID-19 pandemic.

This vehicle is powered by four independent motors and can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 20 seconds. Its battery capacity is enough to cover a range of 500 miles (805 km) when carrying a payload of 82,000 pounds (37,195 kg). Its price may start at $150,000, according to the company.

Musk said the company intends to expand Semi truck production to 50,000 trucks in 2024 in North America.

Approaches between vision and narration in describing the state of occupation

Written by: Marwan Emil Tobasi

Regardless of who contributed to the implementation of the Zionist project, Christians and Muslims “in word,” as they actually served the Zionist movement in political, financial, and other forms, and were even part of its ideology components when they contributed to the persecution of the Jews and put obstacles in front of their right to citizenship according to what the Zionist movement desired in terms of non-resolution The Jewish issue to force them to settler immigration to Palestine and displace our indigenous people who own the land from it. Although Arab Jews formed an essential part of the Arab peoples and the Jewish religion is a product of this region like other religions, European Jews were also part of its societies and were subjected to the same situation as a result of the conspiracy and agreements with the Zionist movement.
Now, it is natural that a “state” was established on the basis of ethnic cleansing and the ideology of settler colonialism after “75 years” without accountability from the existing international system and even encouragement to commit its crimes, that the political system in it is now characterized by the essence of the racist religious Zionist thought in fascist forms and the escalation of its internal crises and chaos and by insisting on adapting its legislation and judicial system on this basis.
According to a number of directions, the most prominent of which is, "The Jewish people have an exclusive and inalienable right throughout the Land of Israel, so that the government encourages the expansion of the Jewish presence throughout the Land of Israel - in the Galilee, the Negev, the Golan Heights, Judea and Samaria - the West Bank," according to Netanyahu.
These trends have become the foundations and contribute to the implementation of the visions of the final solution to the Palestinian issue on the method of Smotrich and Ben Gvir and their ilk, which are taken from the book "Joshua" in the Torah, where the latter provides an overview of the military campaigns to possess the land that "the Lord promised" according to their beliefs after Exodus from Egypt and the forty years of wandering in the wilderness. He says that the newly formed nation is ready to enter the Promised Land, conquer its inhabitants and conquer the land.
Where, according to their narrative that outlines their vision, the invading Israelis carry out a process of genocide against the indigenous Canaanites, so that not a single soul is left to breathe, according to the description of their rabbis and thinkers of religious Zionism.
According to them, Joshua, who inherited the leadership after Moses, sent a message to the Canaanites advising them to flee, then those who remained could accept lower citizenship status and enslavement, and finally, if they resisted, they would be exterminated.
Smotrich and others have publicly presented this narrative as a plan and vision as the needed turnaround for the decisive phase of the conflict. If the Palestinians do not flee and refuse to accept inferior citizenship, as any person of dignity does, "the Israeli army will know what to do," says this racist. .
In the opinion of many observers, the term fascism is not the correct term to describe the current essence of Israel as a racist state and an “apartheid” regime based on Jewish supremacy and its foundations. Many other terms may fulfill the purpose more than the term fascism, although it expresses a form that exists now. In it more than ever before even the right of its citizens who are the Jews themselves.
What is happening today is that the system of this colonial state no longer conceals that it is the state of the Jewish people only, in addition to that it no longer shows any interest in being or appearing as a democratic state or openly undermining even the Zionist liberal thought in it.
The possible question here is whether Israel is now turning into a fascist state? I prefer the question to be: Is it possible that Israel is not a fascist state?
The matter is not limited to the state or the form of the political system in it. Israeli society has become fascist, slipping into the mud of absolute racism in which it has become living.
Israel is a fascist state since it was established on the basis of ethnic cleansing and practices settlement occupation, and it is an ethnocratic state where the Jews monopolize all rights according to the same racist national law.
Describing Israel as a fascist state or even a rogue state above international law is the result of a fragmentary reading that may apply to a state that was built on natural foundations. Fascism and the concept of a rogue state are two possible presentations and interpretations of the essence of Zionism as a settler-colonial racist movement, even according to the United Nations resolution that was colluded to repeal it in 1991.
As for the insistence on the description of fascism alone, it indicates a misleading process that paves the way for dealing with it as a normal country that has local problems related to anti-democracy, liberalism, human rights and minority rights, which are common features with global regimes that descended towards fascism. Rather, insisting on the description of fascism only may be a pass for the integration of the Zionist colonial state in the Arab region, which is governed by a number of regimes that are not originally democratic, and which may be described as fascism in the stages of its formation, which marginalizes the approach to the nature of Zionism as a colonial movement based on erasure and extermination of the population It makes the normalization agreements sponsored by the United States, whose policies center on approaches to the essence of Zionist Jewish thought, and is encouraged by the European Union, in which fascism has become normal in some of its countries today.
The approaches of Zionism with the American political approach and the West in general are linked to multiple determinants, including the sources of Zionist thought itself and the invented interpretations of the Christian religion, which I have referred to in previous articles. By adapting them according to the vision of the West, they aim to replace Palestinian national historical and political rights with financial incentives and economic solutions in regions Of the cantons, most of them will fall into the category of promises and illusions under the continued adoption of the principle of the two-state solution, which was basically undermined, with the aim of sustaining the occupation without a high cost.
Hence, the vision of the current Netanyahu government, which will work without a solid confrontation with the United States, especially with the Republican right’s control of Congress, will focus on escalating daily crimes and increasing oppression, annexation and settlement, enduring verbal statements in an attempt to dissolve the historical Palestinian national rights or those approved by international legitimacy. Under the slogan of improving the conditions of life, until the end of the next four years of Netanyahu's rule, which will be accompanied by various internal crises in the face of the weakness of the Arab situation and the slowness of the ongoing transformations in the global system that may take a long time, which aims to try to achieve the last step of his program, which is the program of the Zionist movement Globalism from managing the current conflict to closing the Palestinian file and announcing the end of the Palestinian issue as a basic station in the American-Israeli Zionist plan, in return pushing towards more normalization agreements without there being any serious obstacles in front of the Zionist plans and dreams.
The next and most dangerous point is America’s recognition of the Jewish National Law after its recognition of Jerusalem as their capital, which was previously approved by the Knesset at the time of the previous Netanyahu government, which says that Israel is a Jewish nation-state, and the Jewish people is the owner of the land, even though Judaism is dressed up as a nationality, and the Jews do not constitute the concept of a people.
As for the question before us, it is whether and how we will succeed in exploiting the global aversion to the occupying state as a result of the ongoing escalation of crimes and transformations that bear forms of apartheid, settlement and fascism together, in order to besiege and isolate the occupying state and curb its continuous and escalating aggression, leading to our right to self-determination and national independence, and for this Talk in an upcoming article.

Arafat.. Before and After.. Part One: "Rising to the Summit and Keeping It".

Written by: Nabil Amr

My granddaughter Sarah, who regularly reads my books, asked me why Yasser Arafat occupies the center of all your writings??
I answered it because it occupies a central place in our lives...
And now, on the anniversary of his absence, we find ourselves in dire need to remember him.. That is because the man had the longest life he spent on the summit. Obstacle until he reached the top and settled on it for more than four decades
The longevity of his leadership was not the most important reason for his occupation of the central place in our lives, but rather because he was a complex of attractive considerations, which attracted behind the reach of his leadership the broadest Palestinian popular sectors and their allied and sympathetic extension on the whole world level, so he became, along with his actual leadership of the revolution, a symbol And a title for it.. so that its phenomenon spreads across the world, spreading like wildfire, and for millions to wear its famous keffiyeh as a spontaneous and automatic expression of what the keffiyeh represents and its owner.
Reaching the top is much easier than keeping it
The Palestinians needed a leadership style different from all those who preceded it in occupying the summit position, and they found in the one wearing khakis and carrying the rifle their long-awaited goal, and the circumstance in which he appeared was completely favorable to filling Palestinian and Arab voids.
The first bullet filled the void of Palestinian action, and the June defeat prepared the way for the adoption of the alternative on the Arab level, and this strengthened the battle of dignity, which recorded the first victory after the major defeat. It was not just a propaganda reaction, that historic slogan launched by the nation's leader Gamal Abdel Nasser. “The Palestinian revolution is here to stay.”
Officially, legally and practically, Yasser Arafat occupied the highest position without any difference, i.e. the presidency of the PLO, which was like a frontal framework on which there was consensus. We can consider his new position as the beginning of the most important stage in his leadership.
And if the path to ascension was smooth, but the work of the presidency and leadership was not like that. It cost his revolution and his people, but he and those with him accumulated, despite the human and geographical losses, a political capital that brought the revolution and its leader to the heart of regional and international equations.
This would not have happened if Arafat had not enjoyed distinguished leadership characteristics, especially in terms of managing the inner house of the revolution.
The first is the Fatah house, which was filled with intelligent and qualified senior leaders who are called the historical founders, and around them was a second class no less qualified and efficient. For them, the "cubs" provide it with all the necessities of life, strength, and overcoming challenges
In the vicinity of the Fatah House, there were active and effective houses that were steadily reproducing, which were what were termed factions and forces, and from his position as the leader of all, he had to nurture a formula that provided harmony between all these houses.
The factions at that stage were neither easy nor easy to lead, and despite all the inevitable difficulties of dealing with senior leaders, the man and those with him succeeded in formulating a correct and effective equation in maintaining a level of harmony, understanding and alliance, as described by Yasser Arafat with the democracy of guns, and George Habash described it as eloquently as Yasser Arafat described it, "We disagree with you and we do not disagree with you."
And through a coherent internal situation within the broader framework of the PLO
And through the careful alignment between the difficult military effort and the most difficult political effort, the ship, under the leadership of its captain, proceeded on its correct course, bypassing the straits and adversities, and the strength and capabilities of the opponent, so the integration of the Palestinian presence with the integration of its three circles, the self, the Arab and the international, resulted in addressing the world from above Minbar where Arafat summed up the philosophy of the revolution with his eloquent sentence that is still alive: "I came to you with the rebel's rifle in one hand and the olive branch in the other, so do not let the green branch fall from my hand."

The German economy is recording a slowdown in growth, but its performance is better than expected

Berlin - (AFP) - Germany's economy slowed in 2022 but fared better than expected, with gross domestic product rising 1.9 percent despite an energy crisis and war in Ukraine weighing on activity, according to preliminary figures released Friday.
"The German economy is recovering despite the difficult environment," said the German Statistical Institute (Distatis).

And according to preliminary estimates before that, a "stagnation" in growth was recorded during the last three months of the year.

In the fall, the government was counting on growth of only 1.4 percent in 2022, with GDP declining in the fourth quarter after growth of 2.6 percent in 2021.

From relentless consumption to government subsidies and energy savings in the industrial sector, the first economy in the eurozone appears to be resilient, although some sectors are still at risk.

"The situation could have been worse," said ING banking analyst Carsten Pejeski.

The energy crisis that resulted from the war in Ukraine destabilized the German economic model, which relied in particular on massive imports of cheap gas from Russia.

The war halted Russian deliveries, causing prices to rise in Europe for part of the year. Inflation rose as production costs rose in industry, the engine of German growth, raising fears of a major economic crisis for the country.

But Jan-Christopher Scherer, an expert at the "DIV" economic institute, confirmed to AFP that "the German economy seemed more resilient than expected this fall."

He added that the industries were "innovative" to provide gas.

A study by the "Ifo" institute revealed that "three quarters" of industries that use gas have reduced their consumption without reducing production.

Yesterday, 20 prisoners and detainees joined the strike, as a second batch, bringing the number of hunger strikers to 50.

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces arrested Kanaan last August, and the occupation authorities transferred him to administrative detention for a period of 4 months, noting that he is a former prisoner who spent years in the occupation prisons between sentences and administrative detention, and his confrontation with arrest operations began since 2006.

Saudi Arabia considers withdrawals from the strategic oil reserve "market manipulation"

Riyadh - (AFP) - The Saudi Energy Minister on Tuesday criticized the United States' decision to withdraw millions of barrels from its strategic reserves, considering it tantamount to "manipulating the markets", in the latest episode of the dispute with Washington related to cutting oil production.

"People are draining their strategic reserves, they have exhausted them, they are using them as a tool to manipulate the markets, while their main purpose was to alleviate the supply shortage," Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman told the "Future Investment Initiative" conference in Riyadh.

"But it is my deep duty to make it clear to the world that the loss of the strategic reserve could be painful in the coming months," said the prince, who is the son of Saudi King Salman.

Prince Abdulaziz did not explicitly mention the United States during his speech, but it comes less than a week after President Joe Biden decided to withdraw an additional 15 million barrels of oil from its strategic reserves in an attempt to reduce the price of black gold.

This amount, which will be pumped into the market in December, constitutes the last tranche of a program announced by the US President in the spring to pump 180 million barrels to counter the rise in oil prices linked to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The statements also come in the wake of the announcement of the "OPEC Plus" alliance, a significant reduction in production quotas by two million barrels per day, as of November.

The White House considered the Saudi- led oil cartel's decision to side with Russia in the Ukraine war.

It is a proposition that Saudi Arabia has officially rejected repeatedly, and Prince Abdulaziz renewed his exclusion on Tuesday.
He said, "I constantly listen to Are you with us or against us? Is there any space that we are with Saudi Arabia and with the Saudi people?", before the hall erupted in applause.

In response to a question about how the long-term partnership between Riyadh and Washington can be put back on track, he said, "I think we in Saudi Arabia have decided to be the mature person and let it be."

Hundreds of CEOs and leaders of the financial sector are attending in Riyadh the investment conference dubbed "Davos in the Desert", which analysts say will highlight Saudi Arabia's geopolitical strength despite its strained relationship with the United States.

The "Future Investment Initiative" was launched in 2017 as a window to the world for the largest oil exporter in the world, as it tries to diversify its economy away from black gold under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Up to 400 US CEOs are expected to attend this year's edition, although the conference is witnessing the absence of official US representation for the first time.

The organizer of the event told AFP last week that no US officials had been invited.

During a seminar on Tuesday morning, Jamie Dimon, CEO of the US bank "JP Morgan", expressed his optimism that the bilateral relations between the two countries will eventually improve.

"Saudi Arabia and the United States have been allies for the past 75 years... and they will work to resolve it," he said.

"The two countries will remain allies in the future," he added.

Egypt calls on Israel to work seriously to revive the peace process as soon as possible

CAIRO - (Xinhua) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry called today (Thursday) on his Israeli counterpart, Eli Cohen, to work seriously to revive the peace process with the Palestinians as soon as possible.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said that Shoukry made a phone call today with Eli Cohen, during which he congratulated him on his assumption of the position of foreign minister in the new Israeli government, according to a press release published by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its official page on the social networking site (Facebook).

During the call, Shoukry conveyed his wishes to his Israeli counterpart for success in his duties, especially those related to supporting bilateral relations between the two countries and strengthening consultation mechanisms on various issues of concern to the two countries.

The Egyptian minister stressed the importance of working seriously to revive the peace process as soon as possible, as it is the best and only way to achieve the vision of the two-state solution, the establishment of the Palestinian state, and the achievement of stability and comprehensive peace for all the peoples of the region.

He made it clear that Egypt, being the first country in the region to seek and consolidate peace, will always play its role and bear its historical responsibility in supporting peace efforts to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Shoukry called for stopping unilateral (Israeli) measures that would complicate the situation and the need to preserve the legal and historical status quo in Jerusalem, as this has a direct impact on easing tension.

He stressed that Egypt will continue its efforts to stabilize the calm between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.

These telephone conversations between the foreign ministers of Egypt and Israel came two days after a tripartite summit in Cairo that brought together Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas, and Jordan's King Abdullah II.

During the summit, the three leaders discussed the developments of the Palestinian cause in light of the current developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the related regional and international situations.

Political expert Dr. Tariq Fahmy said that the Egyptian-Israeli relations allow an important area of communication between the two sides, and the talks between the foreign ministers of the two countries aim for Egypt to conduct its contacts on all axes, and this is a natural matter in light of what happened in the tripartite summit.

Fahmy, a political science professor at Cairo University, told Xinhua that, in my estimation, Egypt will make a great effort to persuade the Israeli side to resume the peace process and enter a new phase in a way that serves both sides.

And he added, "However, the resumption of the peace process requires not only an Egyptian effort, but a regional as well as an American effort, and the US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan is currently visiting Israel and there is talk about the two-state solution option, and therefore this effort is Egyptian-American."

The Egyptian expert added that Cairo has reservations about what is happening on the ground, fearing that it will have direct effects on the peace process, before adding that the resumption of the peace process under the government of Benjamin Netanyahu is possible, and negotiations have always taken place with the governments of the Israeli right, and therefore I do not think that there is a problem. prevent the completion of the peace process.

He stressed that the chances of resuming the peace process exist under American pressure, and that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Israel at the end of this month, and this is a good opportunity in this context.

He continued that there is also an Arab move to put pressure on Israel to persuade it to resume the peace process, and warned of negative repercussions in the event that Israel insists on not resuming the peace process.

Rishi Sunak inherits a troubled British economy

LONDON (AFP) - New British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is inheriting a British economy that was in recession even before the recent turmoil sparked by outgoing Prime Minister Liz Terrace's proposals.

Prime Minister Liz Terrace resigned after her debt-financed tax cuts sparked market turmoil that contributed to the fall in the value of the pound. This caused the government to adjust most parts of its budget, including capping the high energy bills that have contributed greatly to the cost-of-living crisis for tens of millions of Britons.

Data published Monday showed a deepening economic slowdown in October, with private sector output falling to a 21-month low.

"The purchasing managers' index data for October showed that the pace of the economic downturn is picking up after the recent political and financial turmoil in the markets," said Chris Williamson, chief business economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence.

"Increasing political and economic uncertainty has caused economic activity to decline to a level not seen since the global financial crisis in 2009, with the exception of the months of the COVID-19 pandemic," he added.

Williamson noted that upcoming data may show that Britain is already in recession.

The UK's S&P Global/CIPS Composite PMI settled at 47.2 in October, down from 49.1 in September.

Each level below 50 indicates contraction.

However, the United Kingdom is not alone in recession, as there are separate figures issued by Standard & Poor's indicating an "imminent recession" in Germany, which is the number one economy in Europe.

Liz Terrace resigned Thursday as Prime Minister after just 44 days in office. She succeeded Boris Johnson on September 6, after a weeks-long campaign to take over the leadership of the Conservative Party, in the face of Sunak.

Sunak had previously warned, in the period following Johnson's resignation, that the tax cuts promised by Terrace with the rise in government debt when the government intervened financially to curb the spread of Covid-19, was a wrong policy.

He was proven right, as the budget put forward by Truss sent the value of sterling crashing to a record low near parity with the dollar and caused government bond yields to soar.

Sterling rose and bond yields fell on Monday, with Sunak seen as a stabilizing factor in the markets.

"Investors clearly hope that Sunak will provide stability for the economy and the political situation, although it is currently difficult to determine which is the most difficult task," says Danny Hewson, a financial analyst at the company, "AJ Bell."

"Sunak would be pleased to see European gas prices (declining), as well as a recovery in the pound and a lower cost of government borrowing (with lower yields)," she added.

However, with UK inflation rising to a 40-year high of over 10%, the Bank of England is expected to unveil another large rate hike at next week's meeting.

This increase will put more pressure on borrowers, including homeowners who have seen mortgage rates rise in the wake of the Truss government's budget announcement.

The Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, Shevon Haviland, called on the new British Prime Minister to provide assistance to companies suffering from huge energy bills.

"The political and economic uncertainty of the past few months has seriously damaged British business confidence, and it must end now," it said in a statement released after Sunak's confirmation of the premiership on Monday.

"The new prime minister must take control of the economy in the difficult times ahead," she added. "This means putting in place clear and fully costed plans to deal with the big issues facing businesses such as high energy bills, labor shortages, spiraling inflation and rising interest rates."

Hundreds of homes evacuated due to flooding in New Zealand

Wellington (AFP) - Hundreds of homes were evacuated in New Zealand Thursday after floods caused by torrential rains during a storm hit some parts of the South Island in the south of the island.

The tropical storm, which was accompanied by rainfall of up to 30 centimeters, caused rivers to overflow and trees fell, causing the closure of important road hubs.

On Wednesday, the authorities declared a state of emergency in Buller in the West Coast region and in the city of Nelson, where 233 homes were evacuated after a month's worth of rain fell in less than 15 hours.

Under the influence of these rains, the waters of the main river Matai in Nelson City overflowed, flooding homes and streets up to knee-high.

And the city's mayor, Rachel Reese, described these floods as "an event that is recorded once every hundred years," while search and rescue teams, in addition to elements of the army, were helping the people in the flooded streets.

Rais warned the people that the water should be treated as polluted, because some of the sewers had cracked.

For his part, Sam LaGrotta, a resident of Nelson who had to leave his house within five minutes, said the situation was "scary". "I picked up a handbag and threw my passport, my wallet and anything important I found in front of me," he told the New Zealand Herald newspaper on Thursday.

And 160 families have been asked to vacate their homes on the west coast of South Island.

Buller has experienced flooding several times in recent years.

The northern region, or North Island, was also affected, where three people were injured in a traffic accident when a tree fell.

Pooler Mayor Jimmy Klein said repeated evacuations have affected the town, which is now bracing for more flooding. He told the Stuff news website that the situation "causes people great trouble, financially and morally. This is our reality until a long-term solution is found."

Emergency Management Secretary Kieran McCann Elty visited Nelson on Thursday and promised financial help for the stricken town.

"The weather caused significant damage," he told reporters, adding, "While it is too early to know the full cost of the damage, this initial contribution of $200,000 ($125,460) will help ... provide immediate support to those who need it."

The Japanese car company "Nissan" sells all its assets in Russia to Moscow

Moscow (AFP) - The Japanese automaker Nissan will sell all its Russian assets, including a factory in St. Petersburg, to the Russian government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Moscow announced Tuesday.

The announcement came after Nissan suspended manufacturing at its plant in Russia's second-largest city in March, shortly after the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"The Executive Committee of Nissan has approved the sale of its Russian assets to the Russian Federation (...) This includes Nissan's production and research facilities in St. Petersburg as well as sales and marketing centers in Moscow," Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade said in a statement.

She added that under the terms of the agreement, Nissan could "buy back its share over the next six years."

Nissan said in a separate statement that the agreement would be terminated "in the coming weeks," adding that the company would receive a "one-off" amount of about 100 billion yen ($686.5 million).

She noted that its employees in Russia, numbering nearly two thousand people, will keep their jobs for a period of 12 months.

Neither side provided any financial details of the deal on Tuesday.

"On behalf of Nissan, I thank our Russian colleagues for their contribution to the business over many years. While we cannot continue to operate in the market, we have found the best possible solution to support our employees," Nissan General Manager Makoto Uchida said in the statement.

Hezbollah hands over to the Lebanese army a suspect in the killing of an Irish UNIFIL soldier

Beirut - (AFP) - Hezbollah has handed over the main suspect to the Lebanese army in a shooting targeting a vehicle of the United Nations Interim Force that killed an Irish member, a security official told AFP Sunday.

The Lebanese security services had identified the suspects in the December 14th incident in the village of Al-Aqibiya, outside the UNIFIL area of operations, in southern Lebanon, which is a major stronghold of Hezbollah, the preeminent political force with a large military arsenal.

The security official, who asked not to be named because he is not authorized to speak on the matter, said, "The main shooter of the UNIFIL patrol has been arrested by the security services, after Hezbollah handed him over" to the army during the past hours, noting that his handover "came in the context of Hezbollah's cooperation." God is with the investigation that the army intelligence is conducting.

He considered that the suspect "may be a partisan (ie, an element in Hezbollah), so the party was able to arrest and hand him over."

After the killing of the Irish soldier, Hezbollah rushed to offer condolences to UNIFIL. He called, through an official, not to involve him in the "unintended" incident.

From time to time, skirmishes take place between UNIFIL patrols and Hezbollah supporters in the UNIFIL area of operations near the border in the south of the country. But it rarely escalates and the Lebanese authorities quickly contain it.

UNIFIL had asked the Lebanese authorities to expedite the completion of investigations and hold those responsible for the recent incident to account.
UNIFIL did not specify the details of what happened, while the Irish army reported that two armored cars with eight people on board were subjected to "small arms fire" on their way to Beirut.

The incident also resulted in the injury of three other members of the Irish Koutoubia.

A Lebanese judicial source told France Press a few days ago that the patrol was monitored in advance, and was chased "by a car in which gunmen were traveling, and it was harassed and intercepted at two points before it arrived at the scene of the accident," noting that more than one person participated in the shooting, which lasted for a long time. Seven automatic bullets, one of which hit the dead soldier in the head from behind.

The security official confirmed that "the main suspect is under the control of the investigation," noting that "the preliminary investigations are nearing completion, and may lead to the arrest of others."

"Sheikh Salama": Al-Aqsa Mosque is under fierce attack

Jerusalem - "Jerusalem" dot com - His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Yusuf Juma Salameh, First Vice President of the Supreme Islamic Commission in Jerusalem, confirmed today, Saturday, that the fifty-third anniversary of the burning of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque passes in light of the holy city's exposure to a fierce tone amid global silence.

Sheikh Salama said in a press statement to him, on the eve of the anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Mosque fire: “These days pass us by the memory of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque fire, 53 years ago, on the twenty-first of August 1969, when the criminal hands extended to burn Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first of the two qiblahs and the second of the two mosques.” And the third of the Two Holy Mosques, its mihrab, corners, and corridors were set on fire, and the fire destroyed areas of the Al-Qibli Mosque, and the pulpit of the hero Salah Al-Din became an impact after an eye.

Sheikh Salama stressed that the anniversary of the burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque comes these days, and the Holy City is under a fierce attack at the hands of the Israeli occupation authorities, which target people, sanctities, history, civilization, and every Arab and Islamic teacher who is exposed to the danger of annihilation and Judaization.

He stressed that the great and sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque is exposed to the danger of annihilation and Judaization and is exposed to imminent danger, as the occupation authorities are working hard to impose their control over it and divide it in preparation for the establishment of its alleged structure on its ruins.

He pointed out that the fires are still raging in Al-Aqsa Mosque, represented in the statements made by the occupation leaders in order to prove their sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque and allow settlers to pray in it, as well as the daily incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, where they raise flags, perform their Talmudic rituals, use the trumpet, and so on, as well as the multiple excavations and the many tunnels that It undermined its structure and destabilized its being.

Sheikh Salama directed his speech to the world, saying: "You must not forget the journey of your Prophet, you must work to liberate it and preserve it, and teach your children to love Al-Aqsa and Palestine, and stand beside the Jerusalemite brothers, the stationed ones who form the rock that shatters all conspiracies."

(464) of them last month.. (3873) Palestinians were arrested during the first half of the year 2022

Jenin - "Jerusalem" dot com - Ali Samoudi - From the beginning of this year until June 30, 2022, the Israeli occupation army arrested (3873) Palestinian detainees, of whom (1896) were from Jerusalem, and (64) from the Gaza Strip. The number of administrative detention orders issued during the same period is (862) administrative detention orders, including (398) new orders.

The total number of arrests during the month of June was (464) citizens from the occupied Palestinian territories, including (70) children and (18) women.

The distribution of arrests during the aforementioned month was as follows (159) from Jerusalem, which witnessed the highest rate of arrests, and (15) from the Gaza Strip. The number of administrative detention orders issued during the same month reached (153), including (58) new orders, and (95) Renewal order.

This came as part of a joint monthly report issued by the institutions of prisoners and human rights (the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoners Club, Addameer Association for Prisoner Care and Human Rights and the Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem), in which it confirmed that the number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees held in the occupation prisons There were about (4,650) prisoners, as of the end of June 2022, including (30) female prisoners, (180) minors, and about (650) administrative detainees, and hundreds of sick prisoners, including 23 prisoners with tumors and cancer of varying degrees, the most difficult of which is the case. Prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid.

The report documents the most prominent systematic policies and violations implemented by the occupation authorities at several levels against Palestinian prisoners and detainees, in addition to the latest developments regarding their reality and detention conditions inside prisons.

The Israeli occupation army continues to carry out abuse and ill-treatment against detainees and their families, and this comes as part of the collective punishment policy that the occupation is keenly implementing with the aim of targeting the detainee and his surroundings.

According to the follow-up reports, the details of the arrest of two citizens whom we and their families were responsible for were monitored during their arrest process. They brutally occupied the house and moved Obeida to the dining room and began interrogating him in the field and we heard the sound of his screams, after that they brought him to the bedroom and searched it and threw his clothes in front of him while he was handcuffed, then they moved him to the room we were in and interrogated him and beat him in front of us and prevented us from moving or They left, and when they withdrew, they searched the taxi that my husband, Obeida and his brother work in, and wreaked havoc on it.

And the detainee, Taher Akram Saleh (24 years), from Silwad / Ramallah, who was arrested after the occupation soldiers severely beat him and his family members, including women. According to his mother’s account, “the occupation forces deliberately hit him on one of his feet, as he was suffering from an injury By breaking it a short while ago, while he is still in the treatment phase, and despite his continuous screaming at the moment of the assault, they continued to beat him, and they interrogated him in the field while continuing to assault him.”

The number of administrative detention orders issued during the past six months amounted to (862) orders, including (398) new orders and (464) renewal orders, compared to the same documented period of last year 2021.

It is noted that there has been a significant increase in the outcome of administrative detention decisions issued against Palestinians. In the first half of last year, about (680) administrative detention decisions were issued, while (862) were issued during the first half of this year, i.e. an increase rate of more than 27%. This confirms that the occupation authorities are continuing their crimes and continuing their policy of collective punishment against the Palestinian people. They do not stop depriving them of their freedom and detaining them in prisons without bringing them to trial and without disclosing the charges against them. Without allowing them or their lawyers to know the reasons for their arrest, which pushes them to find peaceful ways to protest their suffering.

The occupation detains in its prisons about (650) administrative detainees, including patients, the elderly, women, and even children under the age of eighteen, who were not spared from this unjust detention.

Among the most prominent cases monitored during the previous period of administrative prisoners, who were subjected to arbitrary measures, was the case of the ill detainee Jamal Zaid (64 years) from the city of Al-Bireh, who complains of kidney failure and undergoes dialysis three times a week, in addition to suffering from the effects of a previous stroke. He suffers from heart rhythm disturbances, and he underwent a retinal operation, but he needs medical care, and he is currently in the so-called "Ramla prison clinic." On his life, and despite his difficult health condition and his advanced age, the occupation refused to end his administrative detention, and the Ofer Military Court renewed the administrative detention decision issued against him for the third time in a row for a period of three months on June 28, indifferent to his poor health, knowing that the prisoner Zaid, a former administrative detainee, had spent a full year in administrative detention during 2019, and the occupation re-arrested him on May 19, 2021, then an administrative detention order was issued against him for a period of 6 months, which was later renewed.

It must be noted that a dialogue session was recently held between the occupation prisons administration and the leaders of the captive movement on the demands of the administrative prisoners. Accordingly, the administrative detainees suspended the decision of the open hunger strike that was supposed to take place at the beginning of June, while continuing to boycott the occupation courts and allowing any prisoner He wishes to go to the courts, starting from the date of the agreement until the date of next September, provided that this period is to study and evaluate the extent of the occupation prison administration's commitment to the demands of the administrative detainees.

During the past six months, more than 10 individual prisoners waged open-ended hunger strikes for various reasons and motives, most of which were in protest against administrative detention. Some prisoners declared their strike in refusal to be isolated from harsh living conditions. Others fought their battle in protest of problems with their account in the cantina. Some prisoners also went on strike. Support for their brothers, the administrative detainees, who are on hunger strike in refusal of their administrative detention. The longest strike announced during the aforementioned period was the strike of the prisoner Khalil Awawda from the town of Ithna, Hebron district, which lasted for 111 days, in rejection of his administrative detention. He suspended him after promises to end his detention, but the occupation authorities breached the promises and issued A new administrative detention order is issued against him for a period of 4 months, to resume his strike again, which was announced several days ago, despite his poor health and his detention in harsh conditions inside Assaf Harofeh Hospital, while the prisoner, Raed Rayan, from the town of Beit Duqqu, north of Jerusalem, is still fighting the same battle in protest against He has been in administrative detention for nearly three months, and the occupation authorities are holding him in the clinic of Ramleh Prison, under difficult health conditions.

In addition to the collective partial strikes announced by the members of the captive movement during their uprising that they waged last February, which they started in rejection of the administration’s laws that changed the “Al-Foura” system, which was represented by reducing the time that the prisoners spend in the Al-Fura square, and the number of prisoners who will be allowed them out in one go.

The occupation authorities and their military apparatus do not stop implementing the retaliatory policy against the released prisoners after their release from the occupation prisons. In the field, and there are those who rose as a martyr after his release as a result of diseases he contracted during his arrest and spread in his body, and this confirms that the files of the prisoners after their release are not closed by the occupation forces, but rather they remain under threat all the time, meaning that the crime against them continues without stopping.

During the first half of this year, many martyrs among the released prisoners died after being targeted directly. Among them was the liberator Nihad Al-Barghouti (20 years), from the village of Kafr Ain, in the district of Ramallah, who was martyred after being shot in the abdomen with live bullets at the entrance to the village of Al-Nabi. Saleh, as well as the editor Ihab Zaid Al-Kilani (40 years) from Nablus, who died of cancer during his arrest and suffering from the policy of medical negligence, and as a result of what he was exposed to, he rose as a martyr less than a month after his release from the occupation detention centers, and the editor Dawood Al-Zubaidi (40 years), who was declared dead in Rambam Hospital in Haifa in the occupied territories, as a result of his serious wounds sustained during clashes with the Israeli army in Jenin camp during last May, where Daoud was subjected to a real liquidation process, and his body is still being held by the occupation authorities, who refuse to hand it over to his family.

Last June also witnessed field executions carried out by the occupation army in the Palestinian territories, whose victims were freed prisoners, including the freedman, Ayman Muheisen (29 years), from Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem, who died as a martyr after members of the Israeli special units assassinated him in front of his house.

In the same month, the liberated Ghfran Warasneh (31 years old) from Al-Arroub camp, north of Hebron, rose after the occupation army targeted her with live bullets, which led to her critical injury in the upper part of her body and her death. And obstructing his entry to her hometown, forcing the mourners to carry the body on their shoulders and complete the funeral ceremony in the camp in honor of the martyr's soul.

The list of deans of prisoners - a term used by the Palestinians for those who have been detained for more than 20 years in a row - rose at the end of last June to reach (233) prisoners, and compared to the beginning of this year, the number of prisoners on that list was (112) prisoners. It is expected that the number of prisoners on that list will increase in the coming days, due to the many arrests carried out by the occupation army against hundreds of Palestinians during the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000 and during the so-called “Operation Defensive Wall” in 2002, where unfair and unjust sentences were issued against hundreds of them based on What the occupying power called the "deterrence policy".

At the beginning of this year, the number of prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment reached (547) prisoners, while at the end of the first half of this year their number reached about (551) prisoners, after they were joined by 4 new prisoners who were sentenced to life imprisonment during the past months, and they are: Montaser Shalabi And Muhammad Kabha, Khalil Dwaikat, and Ahmed Asafra.
