A Knesset member leads a campaign to revoke the license of a Jerusalemite lawyer

Extremist Israeli Knesset member Simha Rotman is leading an incitement campaign that has led to a disciplinary case against Jerusalem lawyer Medhat Diba.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, today, Rotman will testify against the lawyer in the Israeli Bar Association, after Dibeh published a publication about the transfer of land to settlers.

Rotman initiated a disciplinary case against Attorney Dibeh for defamation, claiming that his post incites against settlers and against a Palestinian who sold his house to a settler.

Dibeh says that this is a misinterpretation, stressing that this lawsuit comes within the framework of political persecution on the part of Rotman and the Israeli extremist right-wing organizations.

On Tuesday, a session was held in the Disciplinary Court of the Bar Association, and Diba's defense lawyer said that the publication included freedom of expression and had nothing to do with his client's professional work.

The court is expected to take a decision to freeze Diba's membership, temporarily suspend his practice of law, or revoke his license.

The people of Jerusalem, including lawyers, doctors, and others, resort to obtaining a license to practice a profession from the occupation, forcing them to deal with issues related to the lives of Palestinians under occupation.

Zelensky arrives in the Netherlands for a surprise visit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the Netherlands on Wednesday evening, in a surprising stop during which he must visit the International Criminal Court, according to the Dutch news agency "ANB".

Zelensky, who is on his first visit to the Netherlands, arrived at Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport after attending the Nordic Summit in Helsinki, according to the agency.

The agency published several pictures, including a picture of a plane that it said was a Dutch government plane, which was likely to have carried the Ukrainian president.

According to the agency, Zelensky is scheduled to visit the International Criminal Court, which is based in The Hague, on Thursday. The court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin in March.

Zelensky is expected to deliver a speech in this city entitled "No peace without justice for Ukraine," according to the state broadcaster "NSO".
There is also a scheduled meeting with Dutch deputies, in addition to a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, according to what the agency quoted unnamed sources.

The Netherlands has supported Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February 2022. And the country announced, especially last month, that it would buy 14 Leopard 2 tanks with Denmark for 165 million euros in order to give them to Kiev, which is asking for more heavy weapons.

Zelensky confirmed Wednesday, during a surprise visit to Finland, that this year will be "decisive," reiterating his demand for heavy weapons.

Netanyahu is flirting with Ben Gvir at the expense of the Palestinians

The Israeli government coalition parties decided to cancel the freeze on the draft law to deport the families of the terrorists.

According to the Hebrew Kan radio station, the bill will be prepared for the first reading and put to a vote in the Israeli Knesset.

Thus, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to flirt with the so-called Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, to try to bring their views together again after the differences yesterday over the attacks that Ben Gvir's party described as "weak" towards Gaza, which does not fully represent the position of the right-wing government.

Yesterday, Ben Gvir and members of his party boycotted the Knesset sessions, prompting the Likud to attack him and threaten to dismiss him, while the extremist minister expressed a strange position by expressing his desire to resign if it was imposed on him.

Bezalel Smotrich, the Israeli Finance Minister and Halif Ben Gvir, called on all parties to calm down and preserve the current government.

What is the "national message" carried by the response of the resistance from Gaza?!

Palestinian sources said, on Wednesday evening, that the joint room's adoption of the resistance to rocket fire yesterday came as part of a unified national message to confirm that the issue of prisoners is "a national issue par excellence."

According to the sources who spoke to Al-Quds.com, the firing of the rockets, although it was carried out on the ground by one faction, with limited assistance from another faction, was carried out by the resistance with a national consensus on the political and military level of the resistance wings.

She pointed out that there was full field coordination and direct contact between the leadership of the Al-Qassam Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades, to coordinate and expand the attacks as needed.

The sources pointed out that the strikes of the resistance carried a clear message that it could expand its strikes whenever it wanted to, and the more the occupation increased its aggression.

The sources confirmed that the resistance fully adopts the issue of the prisoners and cannot abandon them in the face of the Israeli aggression they are exposed to, and that the martyrdom of Sheikh Khader Adnan cannot be allowed to be repeated.

According to the sources, this operation confused the Israeli occupation and its intelligence services, which were believed to be able to neutralize the factions from this tour.

Yesterday, the resistance fired more than 100 rockets at the settlements around the Gaza Strip, causing many injuries and damages.

The Hebrew Channel 12 reported, on Wednesday evening, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prevented his army minister, Yoav Gallant, from traveling to the United States.

The channel indicated that this ban may have an impact on security coordination with the American side.

Bishara: The Israeli cuts made our tasks difficult

On Wednesday, Palestinian Finance Minister Shukri Bishara called for immediate intervention by the international community to restore Palestinian financial rights, through Israeli deductions from tax funds.

Bishara's statements were made in a speech he made during his participation in the work of the International Liaison Committee (AHLC) held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, in which he confirmed that the total financial deductions withheld by Israel in the last 4 years exceeded 800 million US dollars.

He said that the Israeli deductions added more difficulties to the Ministry of Finance and the government in fulfilling their obligations, which also coincided with a significant decline in foreign grants directed to the public treasury.

He called on the international community to engage in a serious international dialogue, with the aim of amending the unfair conditions contained in the Paris Economic Protocol, which affect all vital Palestinian economic sectors, and bridging the large gap between the financial rights guaranteed by the agreement, which Israel has violated many times.

He continued, "There is an important role played by the donor community in defending the Palestinian cause and liberating the Palestinian economy from dependence on the Israeli economy, as pressure towards amending the Paris Economic Protocol will contribute to easing restrictions on the Palestinian economy."

He believed that it is important to take practical steps and find a sustainable financial program for the State of Palestine, to control the budget deficit and reduce it gradually, to pave the way for financial stability and recovery of the Palestinian economy amid the continued violations of the occupation.

During his speech, Bishara gave an explanation about the Palestinian financial and economic situation, indicating that the Palestinian government is working under huge challenges.. "The budget deficit constitutes a threat to the Palestinian economy."

He expected the current year 2023 deficit to rise to more than $609 million, up from $359 million, or 46%, in the event that illegal Israeli deductions from clearance funds continue.

He said that the continuation of the current deficit affects the Palestinian social stability, due to the lack of a national currency and a central bank with full powers, to refinance the debt and cover all the obligations of the government.

Regarding the Palestinian banking sector, Bishara said that it is exposed to the risks of lack of cash liquidity, and the political fluctuations inherent in the Palestinian system due to the Israeli occupation, which prevents economic progress.

And he continued: “The government approved the budget this year as an emergency budget, amid the continuing financial crisis due to the occupation, indicating that the budget for the current year reflects revenues of $5.38 billion, an increase of 6% over the previous year, and against that we will witness an increase in expenditures by 12% from $5.53 billion.” Dollars to 6.18 billion, due to the increase in the salary bill.

He stressed that despite the difficult financial reality due to political and economic challenges, the Ministry of Finance succeeded in increasing public revenues, as it witnessed a growth of 14% last year, following an increase of 22% in 2021.

Because of the Ministry's efforts to maximize revenues, it contributed to compensating for the increase in operating costs and the sharp decline in international support for the budget, in addition to our success in reducing the budget deficit by more than half.

He explained that the deficit was reduced from $971 million in 2021 to $416 million in 2022, and had it not been for the illegal Israeli deductions, the year would have ended with a deficit of $242 million.

Timeline: A year of "violence" in "Israel" and the West Bank

On Wednesday, a truce was announced after a night of exchange of missile strikes between Israel and Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip, following the death of a leader in the Islamic Jihad movement, Khader Adnan, in Ramla prison, as a result of a hunger strike.

In this file, Agence France-Presse sheds light on the most prominent events that exacerbated the conflict between the Israeli-Palestinian sides since last year.

Violence erupted on March 22, 2022, when four people were killed in the city of Beersheba in the Negev desert, southern Israel, by a Bedouin teacher associated with the Islamic State.

On March 27, two policemen were killed in an attack claimed by the Islamic State in Hadera, in the north.

Two days later, a Palestinian from the West Bank killed five pedestrians on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. On April 7th, another attack left three people dead in central Tel Aviv.

On May 5th, three Israelis were killed after two Palestinians attacked them with axes and knives in the city of Elad, which is predominantly observant.

In the aftermath of the attacks inside Israel, the Israeli army launched more than 2,000 raids in the West Bank in 2022, especially in Jenin and Nablus, which are strongholds of the Palestinian armed factions in the northern West Bank occupied by Israel since 1967.

On May 11, the American-Palestinian journalist for the Qatari Al-Jazeera Arabic channel, Sherine Abu Aqleh, was killed during an Israeli operation.

On October 25, five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli military operation targeting the Lions' Den armed group in Nablus.

On November 29, Israeli forces killed five more Palestinians in the West Bank.

On August 5, the Israeli army launched an operation in Gaza that was portrayed as "preventive" against the Islamic Jihad movement, during which a number of its military leaders were killed.

At least 49 Palestinians were killed in total during the three days of rocket and missile exchanges.

A new cycle of violence began on January 26, 2023, when ten Palestinians were killed in Jenin during an Israeli operation.

The next day, a Palestinian shot dead six Israelis and a Ukrainian near a synagogue in East Jerusalem, which Israel occupied and annexed in 1967, before being shot.

On 06 February, five Palestinian members of Hamas were killed in an Israeli military operation in Jericho.

On February 10th, a run-over attack by a Palestinian in East Jerusalem killed three Israelis, including two brothers, aged six and eight.

On February 22, 11 Palestinians, including a boy, were killed during an Israeli military incursion into Nablus. The operation was described as the bloodiest carried out by the Israeli army in the West Bank since at least 2005, followed at night by firing rockets from the Gaza Strip towards Israel, followed by Israeli air strikes.

On February 26, two Israeli settlers were killed near Nablus.

On the evening of that same day, hundreds of Israeli settlers entered Hawara, where they threw stones at Palestinian homes and set fire to buildings and cars.

Six Palestinians were killed on March 7 in Jenin, one of whom was the perpetrator of the attack on the two settlers.

On the fifth of April, in the middle of Ramadan, violent clashes took place between the Israeli police and what it described as "rioters" holed up inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Two rockets were fired in the evening from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, after a similar shooting the night before, to which Israel responded with strikes.

On the sixth of April, about thirty rockets were launched from Lebanon towards Israel.

Israel began responding in the evening with air strikes on the Gaza Strip. Before dawn the next day, the Israeli army also launched air strikes in southern Lebanon, confirming that it had hit three "infrastructure" of Hamas.

This is the first time that Israel has confirmed that it has attacked Lebanese territory since April 2022.

On 7 April, two British Israelis were killed and their mother seriously injured in an attack on their car in the West Bank. Two days later, the death of the mother was announced.

On the second of May, the Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan, 45, died in his detention in the Israeli Ramla prison, after 86 days during which he was on hunger strike.

Adnan had embarked on a strike to protest his administrative detention, but an Israeli official said that he was detained on charges related to his activity in the Islamic Jihad movement, participation in dozens of organizational activities of the movement, and giving inflammatory speeches in support of a hostile organization, and he was being held pending the case.

Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip responded by firing rockets towards the Jewish state. A day of shelling exchange resulted in the death of a Palestinian and the wounding of five others, while the Israeli side recorded three injuries.

Since the beginning of January, more than 100 Palestinians, 19 Israelis, a Ukrainian woman and an Italian citizen have been killed in confrontations, military operations and attacks, according to a toll compiled by Agence France-Presse based on official Israeli and Palestinian sources.

These figures include fighters and civilians, including minors, from the Palestinian side, and from the Israeli side. Most of the dead are civilians, including minors and three Israeli Arabs.

The martyr Khader Adnan is a symbol of patriotism and heroism!!

The patriotic fighter who strongly rejects the crimes of the occupation and all its practices, went on hunger strike for more than 85 days in a way to express his adherence to his homeland and the rights of his people until he passed away and his strong martyrdom was fulfilled and he became a symbol of patriotism and heroism.

The crime of occupation against this hero was denounced by all the national forces and the Arab and Islamic countries through their institutions and organizations and through all the media and social communication, and Khader became a symbol of patriotism and heroism, and everyone who talks about rights, humanity, morals, steadfastness and heroism talks about him.

The occupation realized the deteriorating health condition of the prisoner Khader, but it did nothing but put him in a cell and in worse health conditions until he moved to God's mercy while he was in the fullness of his steadfastness and steadfastness.

The occupation’s crimes against prisoners in general are many, although Khader Adnan represents them at this stage, and among these examples is the prisoner Qassem Muslim, who has been detained for 23 years, at the age of 54, and his health condition has deteriorated. The two brothers, Raafat and Akram Othman Hamed, from the town of Silwad, are in their twentieth year since their arrest in 2004. The occupation authorities also decided to extend the sentences and arrest of citizens and restrict the prisoners in the work facilities that provide them with services.

Talking about the practices of the occupation, whether against the prisoners or the continuous arrests, must turn into a cry in the ear of the whole world, perhaps some of them will move and stand firmly in the face of these practices, and mere statements of condemnation and denunciation remain ink on paper and are not heard by the leaders of the occupation in this government that It includes leaders of senior extremists and those who reject all human rights and obligations.

And for the thousandth time, we repeat that these practices will not break the resolve of our people and will not stand in the way of our children legitimately defending their homeland and their rights, and in the end they will surely be the victors.

Gate of Mercy.. The renewed battle to divide Al-Aqsa

Unexpectedly, the name Bab al-Rahma returned to the forefront of the scene in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. No sooner had the morning of the second day of Eid al-Fitr begun than the worshipers in al-Aqsa Mosque were surprised by the Israeli forces storming the Gate of Mercy, cutting its electricity wires and destroying its newly repaired infrastructure, in a scene that was surprising given the Four years have passed since the reopening of the chapel after the events of the "Gate of Mercy" in 2019, which raised many questions about the reasons for this Israeli attack at this particular time.

In fact, the issue of Bab al-Rahma did not actually end with the occupation, despite the passage of more than 4 years since its opening. The occupation police have been storming the chapel regularly throughout these years, and they are keen to enter the place with shoes without the slightest respect to confirm the fact that it does not recognize it as a chapel despite the position of the Council. The Supreme Council of the Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem, who confirmed more than once that this place is one of the chapels of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that the Council deals with it on this basis.

What finally happened confirmed that Israel had not forgotten the issue of the Gate yet, and that it wanted to turn the clock back to before the events of February 2019, when Jerusalemites ended a complete Israeli closure of Gate of Mercy that spanned 16 years, beginning in early 2003 when the occupation authorities announced the closure of the Islamic Heritage Committee. Which was based in the place 10 years ago at that time, and the matter of Bab Al-Rahma was almost forgotten throughout these years, so that the Israeli police came and decided in 2019 to change the locks of the door in reference to declaring its control over it, and this led to the explosion of conditions in Jerusalem and the Jerusalemite youth announcing their intention to open The prayer hall again, and this is what happened on 22/2/2019.

Since that time, the actual war began over the ownership of the chapel. Israel saw this place as a hope to start implementing its vision of dividing the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque between Muslims and Jews, considering the place “forgotten” for 16 years, during which the area adjacent to Bab Al-Rahma turned into a permanent center for settlers. Extremists temple, who conduct their rituals and religious lessons in the place without allowing Muslims to approach them, and therefore it was natural that the conversion of Bab al-Rahma into a synagogue is an idea put on the table of the Israeli government, waiting for the appropriate moment to implement it, as happened when the division of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron in 1994.

However, what happened was the opposite of all expectations, so the chapel was opened again, and no attempt to hinder it or prevent its opening succeeded, even by arresting the guards who used to open it daily, and the Muslims took steps in this direction with the Jerusalemite youths in 2021 preparing all the chapel’s interior requirements, including brushes and separators. Wooden and others, taking advantage of the events of the war that year, then the Jerusalemites take another step in the month of Ramadan in 2022 by removing the guard point that the Israeli police set up in 2018 above the Gate of Mercy, and then preparing the ground for the site later to connect it with the Marwani chapel and achieve unity that Israel has always tried to prevent between the chapels of Al-Aqsa Mosque divergent on the eastern side.

Under these developments, pressures were increasing on the Israeli government by extremist religious groups, which see that their achievements in the eastern region of Al-Aqsa Mosque are almost in vain, and this prompted the current Netanyahu government to consider that its battle in this spot is fateful because it is linked to the support of these extremist right-wing forces. , and especially the ultranationalist Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir.

Today, Itamar Ben Gvir is trying to present himself as the sole savior of the extreme religious right in Israel, and in doing so he is trying to jump over Netanyahu's back to show that he is his strong successor, even stronger than Netanyahu himself, and he does not hide the truth of his political ambitions to assume the presidency of the government in Israel, and therefore he bids on Netanyahu in everything related to Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular. While the Israeli Supreme Court renewed in July each year its decision to close the Gate of Mercy chapel, Ben Gvir anticipated the Israeli court’s renewal of its annual decision this year by informing the Islamic Endowments Department of his decision to close the door immediately in his capacity as Minister of National Security, before even To start the holy month of Ramadan!

It seems that Bin Gvir intended from this step to test reactions to his decision before starting to implement it after the end of Ramadan to prepare the ground in July, before the court renewed the closure decision, thus appearing as the only strong and solid man capable of implementing the court's decision and closing the Gate of Mercy.

In this matter, Ben Gvir tries to address the issue of al-Bab from the logic of the absolute power that he believes he enjoys in managing the affairs of the occupation police in Al-Aqsa Mosque, but he ignores an important fact, which is that the Israeli security authorities did not accept his reckless vision of the situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, and the possibility that This place ignites a war that Israel cannot afford to fight and bear its losses, especially when it is today in its weakest state in terms of the divided and fragmented society. Recklessness in dealing with an issue of this sensitivity led in the past to widespread disturbances that some political sane people in Israel believe are indispensable at this very critical time. The causes and circumstances that led to such disturbances with regard to Al-Aqsa Mosque have not ceased or disappeared, not at the local Palestinian level, nor at the Arab and Islamic level, nor even at the international level, which cannot support Israel when it comes to this site.

Possible scenarios
Indeed, trying to close the door will result in one of two scenarios:

The first: that Bin Ghafir completely fails in his effort to close the door and succeeds in return, in the event of his persistence and obstinacy in that, in re-igniting the entire region without knowing it. The issue of opening the Gate of Mercy chapel has become for Muslims in and outside Jerusalem an issue of public opinion that is very difficult to end with this simplicity. Israel and no one else can control it, because the people in Jerusalem are not affiliated with any Palestinian or non-Palestinian faction or political body whose movement can be predicted. The harbingers of this anger and popular movement are quite clear on the horizon, as the Jerusalemites have proven more than once that approaching the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque cannot pass without a price.
The second: That he be able to close the Gate of Mercy without much fuss, as he and the poles of the extreme Israeli right hope, and that will open the door wide to accelerate the division of Al-Aqsa Mosque and completely cut off this part of the mosque before Muslims realize the dimensions of what is happening, and I do not think this process - if it succeeds Ben Gvir - It takes more than just a few months. Although popular silence in this case is unlikely, the seriousness of this scenario should be noted, and here it should be noted that the popular conscience in and around Jerusalem must remain attentive to what Ben Gvir and the leaders of the Israeli right want, as the issue goes beyond the door of mercy to the division of the mosque as a whole, and the division of the mosque Al-Aqsa itself will, in fact, only be the starting point for complete Israeli control over it. Defending freedom of the press and protecting journalists

Nihad Abu Ghosh

On the third of May every year, hundreds of thousands of journalists around the world celebrate World Press Freedom Day. On the martyrdom of colleague Sherine Abu Aqleh, correspondent for Al Jazeera channel and icon of the Palestinian and international press, in addition to the family of Palestinian journalists heading to hold the General Conference of the Syndicate on the twenty-third and twenty-fourth of this month.

"Freedom of the press" is the most necessary condition for the work of journalists and their profession, and a free press is an essential and indispensable condition for any normal contemporary society, free from all manifestations of oppression, corruption, tyranny, ignorance and arbitrariness, and before that from the scourge of colonialism and occupation, as is the case of our Palestinian people who are still suffering from The results of the catastrophe, whose infamous anniversary falls in this month as well. This fact reminds us all that the responsibility for defending freedom of the press is not the task of journalists alone, but rather the task of all forces and bodies that are keen on human rights and the interests of the people and the nation. It is the task of all supporters of freedom and democracy. Serving the entire community and providing it with the information it needs in the various affairs of the lives of all citizens.

And if freedom of the press is a necessary condition for the success of the mission of journalists, then it is not sufficient alone without meeting the urgent life interests, individual and collective, of journalists, such as adequate wages, decent work conditions, occupational safety, health and social insurance, unemployment, disability and old age insurance. Promoting the profession, developing laws regulating the work of the press, including the Journalists Syndicate Law, and the right to obtain information, to training new graduates and creating journalistic jobs in institutions and facilities that lack this or refer them to non-specialists.

Palestine was one of the first Arab countries to know the press and the trade union organization of the press in the twenties of the last century. Journalists were among the first to be aware of the Zionist danger and warned of it before other politicians and notables. Anyone who wants to learn more about the pioneering role of the Palestinian press can follow the important documentary materials that he continues to publish. Colleague Imad Al-Asfar, Director of the Media Development Center at Birzeit University, based on the archives of the Palestinian press at that time.

The occasion passes us this year amid the continuation of violations by the occupation first, and secondly by the Palestinian parties in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and in recent years, the practices of social media administrations have been added, targeting Palestinian content and the right of Palestinians to express their opinion, and it seems that these administrations are linked With close relations with the occupying state and its institutions, it adopts its racist standards to demonize and criminalize the Palestinian struggle. Mostly, the number of Israeli violations of freedom of the press exceeds the total number of violations in the West Bank and Gaza, and what concerns us in this regard, and despite our knowledge that the Israeli violations are quantitatively and qualitatively different from the Palestinian violations, they are the gross and most serious violations, and affect the right to life of journalists before their right to life is affected movement and work, and includes killing journalists and deliberately assaulting them, as happened with Sherine Abu Aqelah, Ghfran, Rasneh, Nazih Darwaza, Yasser Murtaja, Ahmed Abu Hussein, and more than fifty journalists who were martyred during the last four decades. Israel's targeting of journalists included bombing towers and buildings that house press offices and news agencies, and snipers targeting journalists despite wearing their distinctive vests. Most of the journalists were prevented from entering Jerusalem, as well as from moving between the West Bank and Gaza, and from reaching the places of events. And the arrest of hundreds of journalists, where about 15 journalists are still detained so far, and the destruction of journalists’ cameras, tools, equipment, and vehicles. However, the continuation of Palestinian violations in all its forms, including arrests, summons, threats, beatings, prevention of coverage, dismissal from work, and others, represents a dark and defective page in our Palestinian life. Everyone is responsible for folding and closing it by criminalizing and forbidding the arrest, exposure and threat of journalists, and holding accountable all those who encroach on press freedoms, with a reminder that these freedoms are guaranteed and stipulated in the Declaration of Independence and the Basic Law, and have previously been affirmed and repeated by the highest political and national references, especially by the President and successive governments.

Since its inception, the Palestinian press has been associated with the national cause. It was the most important means of exposing colonial and aggressive plans, a tool for formulating and building national awareness, and one of the most important levers for preserving the national identity, as well as its daring role in revealing the truth and informing the world about the crimes of the occupation. Therefore, the press has always been targeted by Before colonialism and occupation, it is unfortunate that it also turned into a victim of division, separation and internal crises.

On World Press Day, we bow in honor of the martyrs of the Palestinian press, including the leaders and symbols of the Palestinian revolution, such as Ghassan Kanafani, Majid Abu Sharar, Kamal Nasser, Kamal Adwan, Wael Zuaiter, Hanna Moqbel, Naji Al-Ali, Hani Jawhariyyah, Izz al-Din al-Qalq, Saeed Hamami, Abdel-Wahhab al-Kayyali, and Michel Nimri, all the way to the martyrs of the occupied land, Hassan Abdul Halim to Shirin, Ghufran and dozens of others, and we do not forget the foreign martyrs of the press from among the friends of Palestine who gave their lives in order for the world to know what is going on in our country, including James Miller, Raphael Chirillo, Victor Argoni, Simon Camelli, and Cevdet Kiliclar, as well as the martyrs of the press outside the homeland, including them Tariq Ayoub, Mazen Tamizi, Mazen Dana.

On this anniversary, we remember the journalistic figures who presented the most beautiful years of their lives in the service of the press and journalists, including the late captains Radwan Abu Ayyash, Naim Al-Tubasi and Abdel Nasser Al-Najjar, and the heads of the leading media institutions Mahmoud Abu Al-Zalf, Mahmoud Yaish and the martyr Youssef Nasr.

Finally, all the best wishes for the Journalists Syndicate conference, with the hope of building a broad popular national coalition to defend freedom of the press and protect journalists. The press, which has dedicated itself to Palestine, deserves support, backing and protection from its people.

Our historical right to Palestine is a divine decision. It is not a heresy nor a favor from anyone!

Aziz Mahmoud Al-Asa

The follower of the sermons of the Secretary of the pulpit, Sheikh d. Ikrima Sabri finds it multidimensional; It deals with the affairs of the nation and the homeland, ranging from the general to the specific, and from the past to the present, including the concerns of the Palestinian local community and/or the nation on a broader scale, and hinting at the future, with its hopes and pains.

Accordingly, the last Friday (the orphan) of the month of Ramadan for this year (1444 AH / 2023 AD) came to include three main axes, which Al-Khatib - Sabri - identified as follows: the strategic depth of the Palestinians, the Abrahamic religion and the teachers' strike.

Based on the responsibility placed on the pulpit of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque towards Muslims wherever they are on the face of the earth, and based on the burden of trust placed on the preacher who ascends this pulpit, the preacher spoke in every axis of it, according to the vision of the true religion that the preacher realizes, and he is the former mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian lands. President of the Islamic Supreme Council in Jerusalem.

Immediately after this sermon, Karim's brother addressed the sermon, protesting against the historical dimension as mentioned in the sermon, considering that "the historical right in Palestine is heresy." Whereas, the Friday preacher was not limited in his sermon to the historical dimension only, but also dealt with the doctrinal and jurisprudential aspects as well, based on the noble verses and the noble hadiths of the Prophet.

And since I found the content of the hadith worthy of stopping by reading and analyzing it, in light of our struggle with the occupation on this blessed, good, pure land, I re-listened to the sermon, and it became clear that the historical dimension included information, data, and evidence in which the preacher sequenced it, starting with what was narrated by the honorable companion Abu Dhikr al-Ghafari May God be pleased with him, by saying: I asked the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, about the first mosque built on earth. He said: The Sacred Mosque. He said: Then which? He said: Al-Aqsa Mosque, I said: How much between them? He said: Forty years. Al-Khatib - Sabri - proceeded according to the following:
- We as Muslims have our strategic depth throughout history. The Palestinian people are part of the Arab people, and the Arab people are part of the honorable Islamic nation.

 We say to the vexatious, impetuous person: Your claim that the Palestinian people has only been known for a hundred years is a misguided and misleading claim. As the Arabs in Palestine have a history that extends back to before (7500) years BC and who are the Canaanites, even the Torah mentioned the land of Canaan on several occasions to indicate that the Canaanites existed, and they are the oldest peoples in the world in Palestine.

- When the just caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, came to the city of Jerusalem in 15 AH / 636 CE, he received its keys from Sophronius, Patriarch of Rome; That is, the Muslims had received this city by treaty from the Romans only and not from others, and our master Umar, may God be pleased with him, issued at that time the Umaria Pact in which he preserved the churches of the Christians, because our great Islamic religion preserves the places of worship for non-Muslims, so if it was a synagogue for the Jews at that time, he would have preserved it. Umar did not find any traces except for those related to Christians only.

- Therefore, the people of Palestine are rooted in the blessed Holy Land, and the abundant Islamic monuments still exist, and confirm this, from the time of Umar to this day.

 Then our stationing in our land is by a divine, divine decision from the seven heavens, and that is in the miracle of Isra and Mi’raj, so the Al-Aqsa Mosque was the centerpiece of this miracle.

- Al-Aqsa Mosque is part of our faith, and defending it is a defense of faith.
- Accordingly, our association in this country is a connection of belief and faith, with the decision of God Almighty, and not with a decision of the body of nations or a decision of the Security Council. Emphasizing that Jerusalem is not for the people of Palestine alone, but rather for all Muslims around the globe, and he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, says: No one should travel except to three mosques: the Sacred Mosque, this mosque of mine, and Al-Aqsa Mosque. And in a narration: The Grand Mosque, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and this mosque of mine.

- We return to this arrogant moron, whose name we refuse to mention, who falsifies history, to say to him: Whoever has a house of glass should not throw stones at others, then we say to him: Have you found antiquities in the city of Jerusalem, during the extensive excavations? As for our monuments, they are clear imprints of the whole world and speak of our existence through the years and days.

we saw,
After careful listening, good listening, and objective analysis of the historical dimension of this sermon, we find that the Friday preacher, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ikrima Sabri has referred to the historical dimension, in his response to allegations that the Palestinian people have known only for a hundred years. Thus, he broadcast direct messages to the occupation and its leaders, who boast of denying the historical depth of the Palestinian people on this land, that our historical right in Palestine came with a divine decision, and is not a heresy or a favor from anyone.

We also find ourselves in direct confrontation with the following questions/questions:

Is there anything wrong with saying that our Canaanite ancestors are the ones who brought us into this land, before we were Muslims?

Is there anything wrong with citing the Almighty’s saying: “Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was upright and a Muslim, and he was not of the idolaters” (Al-Imran: 67), when referring To our religious and historical depth that extends for thousands of years before the message of Islam brought by the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him God bless him and grant him peace?

And is there any contradiction for those who research the historical right of the nation before the Hijri time that was adopted by Caliph Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him?

These questions remain to be answered, until we are certain that we are in a moment when we are in desperate need of the unity of the word, and the unity of the correct opinion based on belief and jurisprudence.
