Gaza: More than 14 newborns during first quarter of 2023

Statistics issued by the General Administration of Civil Status at the Ministry of Interior - Civil Section showed that the Gaza Strip recorded 14,958 newborns during the quarterly report of the current year 2023, in addition to 1,098 deaths.


The statistics showed that the number of male births in the sector was estimated at 7,763 births, at a rate of 52%, while the estimated percentage of female births was 48%, at 7,095 births.


It indicated that the Civil Status Offices in the Gaza Interior Directorate had registered 5,481 newborns. While the Khan Yunis Interior Office registered 2,824 births.


The Northern Interior Offices also recorded 2,812 new births, and the Civil Status Offices in the Central Interior Directorate recorded 2,054 newborns, while the Civil Status Offices in the Rafah Interior Directorate recorded 1,787 new births.


Deaths

Civil Affairs reported that its offices in the governorates of the Gaza Strip recorded 1,098 deaths during the third quarter of the year, with male deaths estimated at 606 deaths, at a rate estimated at 55%, compared to 492 deaths among females, at a rate estimated at 45%.
