The Israeli Knesset General Assembly approved, at dawn on Wednesday, the budget law for the year 2023-2024, and the settlement law for the same two years.

According to the Hebrew website Ynet, the size of the budget amounts to 998 billion shekels, at 484 for the year 2023, and 514 for the year 2024, indicating that this is the largest budget in "Israel's history", and the Ministry of Defense will receive 64 billion shekels from it.

The budget and the settlement laws attached to it were voted by 64 members against 55.

The Knesset session, which began yesterday evening, witnessed a state of controversy between the government coalition and the opposition over the budget.

Following the end of the session this morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted: "We won the elections, we passed the budget, we are continuing for four years that will be good."
