Detainee Hisham Awwad begins a hunger strike
The Prisoner Club said, "The administrative detainee Hisham Hamed Awwad (21 years old) from Askar al-Jadeed camp in Nablus, yesterday, began an open hunger strike, in rejection of his administrative detention. After announcing the strike, the prison administration began transferring him to the cells."
The club stated in a statement, this evening, Monday, that the prisoner Awad has been detained since the date of 12/15/2022, and he has been transferred to administrative detention for a period of 6 months.
He pointed out that the prisoner, Awwad, was re-arrested shortly after his release, as he was arrested in 2020, and was transferred at the time to administrative detention, and three administrative detention orders were issued against him, totaling a year and a half.
The Prisoner's Club stated that the prisoner Awad's strike comes with the escalation of the crime of administrative detention, as the number of administrative detainees in the occupation prisons exceeded more than 1,000 detainees.
