On the fifty-seventh anniversary of the Nakba, the crime continues
Days and the memory of the Palestinian Nakba, which formed and still is the main pillar upon which the Palestinian narrative is based, will come upon us. It was also the motive for the armed and unarmed Palestinian resistance, and the determination to get rid of its disastrous results is the engine of all Palestinian policies.
The noble, civilized, promising, and peaceful Palestinian people according to the standards and classifications of (civilized) nations that prevailed at the time and in accordance with the text of Article 22 of the League of Nations Charter, and accordingly contributing to the advancement of all humanity, was subjected to the most heinous continuous crimes that the twentieth century witnessed, when it was subjected to a campaign Settler colonialism by arrogant, arrogant, and arrogant Western colonial powers, during which they employed all means of settler colonialism, including genocide, ethnic cleansing, racial segregation, and displacement to establish a Zionist colony as a national home for Jews around the world.
A study of the history of the Zionist settler-colonial project in Palestine shows that there is an organic correlation between the stages of implementation of this project, or rather the strategic successes that have been achieved in creating and protecting the existence of the fruit of this project (Israel), and the transformations of the international system, which makes the project question whether the owners will achieve This project is another additional success at the expense of the Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims in this current stage of the transformation of the international system?
As the international system is witnessing a state of transformation that seemed to be moving slowly in 2008, when the real estate crisis emerged in the American market, then it was followed by the global financial crisis in 2009, but this pace began to accelerate with the ascension of President Trump to power in 2016, carrying the slogan (America). First), then this pace reached its peak with the outbreak of the Russian-Atlantic war on the land of Ukraine in February 2022, where the White House is inhabited by a president who reached it in the year 2020, carrying the slogan (America’s Return), which implies an American approach to the international system. It is completely different from the approach of his predecessor, and does not rule out the outbreak of a new global war at the end of the current decade, according to Biden's national security strategy.
For its part, the Middle East region, which, since the outbreak of World War I in 1914, was one of the most prominent regional arenas, the scene of the struggle of the contending great powers over the leadership of the international system during all stages of the transformation of this system. It is still living the effects and repercussions of this decade to date.
During the First World War (1914-1918), the end of which witnessed a shift in the international system that arose after the signing of the Treaty of Westphalia, which ended the Thirty Years’ War in Europe, where the Allied Powers, led by the victorious United Kingdom in the war, dominated the leadership of the world system. The Balfour Declaration was issued in 1917 by Britain, who founded the Palestinian Nakba by calling for the establishment of a national home for the Jews in Palestine, which was at the time part of the Ottoman Empire defeated in the war.
And with the establishment of the international organization (the League of Nations) at the time, Britain, which is dominant in the international system, was able to convert its promise in 1922 into an international document issued by the international organization under the name of the Mandate, which in turn mandated Britain to mandate Palestine and work to prepare the establishment of a national home for the Jews in Palestine according to the text Balfour Declaration.
After the outbreak of World War II (1939-1945), a new international system emerged, known as the bipolar system. The Allies, led by the United States of America, and the Axis, led by the Soviet Union, declared the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.
It should be noted here that while the world witnessed, after the end of World War II, a fierce war that raged between the two poles of the global system, known as the Cold War, the Middle East region witnessed the fiercest and bloodiest wars between the new emerging entity in the region and the countries of the region that declared at the time that they were in a state of War and hostility with this entity, and these wars, especially the war of 1967, resulted in Israel occupying what remained of Palestine (the West Bank, including East Jerusalem), which was in the hands of the Kingdom of Jordan, and the Gaza Strip, which was in the hands of Egypt, in addition to its occupation of the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula and the Syrian Golan Heights.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the world order known as the unipolar system arose under the leadership of the United States of America. The Arab-Israeli conflict witnessed a radical transformation, as it moved from a state of hostility, war, and armed resistance, to a state of political settlement and peace.
It is true that Egypt had signed a peace agreement with Israel in 1979, after which the latter withdrew from the Sinai Peninsula according to the conditions included in the Camp David Accords, but the pace of the settlement increased after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the hegemony of the United States of America over the world order, where the Oslo agreement was concluded in 1979. 1993, and Wadi Araba in 1994 between Israel, the Palestine Liberation Organization and the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
While the foregoing shows the case of the close connection between confirming the existence of Israel as the fruit of the Western settlement colonial project in Palestine, and the transformations of the international system, the facts on the ground prove the failure of the owners of this project to implement it and implement it according to the promise issued by Britain at the time, as it shows the course of implementation of the project for a series of retreats.
The first of these retractions was represented in the decree of the Constitution of Palestine issued by His Majesty in 1922, when Britain retracted under the weight of the refusal of the owners of the lands of this promise, in this decree to allocate historical Palestine, which includes Transjordan with Palestine as a national home for the Jews, to Mandatory Palestine, which includes Palestine. extending from the river to the sea.
The second of these retreats is represented in Partition Resolution No. 181 issued by the United Nations General Assembly in 1947, which divided Mandatory Palestine into two states, one for the Jews and the other for the Arabs, and keeping Jerusalem under international trusteeship.
Despite the Nakba with all its contents of genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass displacement carried out by Zionist gangs under British auspices at the time, and their occupation of areas larger than the Partition Resolution allocated to the Jewish state, the principle of the two-state solution called for in 2002 by President Bush Jr. and agreed upon by the entire international community The third regression represents the inability of the owners of the colonial project to establish a national home for the Jews on all of Mandatory Palestine.
In front of this fact that cannot be ignored or blinded to, in addition to a number of other facts, the most prominent of which is the demographic fact in which the number of Palestinians on the land of Mandatory Palestine has become greater than the number of Zionist colonizers, and then the reality of the ongoing transformation in the international system that seems to be proceeding in an unfavorable manner. The favor of the great powers that are partners of the Zionist movement in the making of Israel, as well as the reality of the regional transformations that are taking place against the Israeli interest, and then the reality of the disintegration and erosion that Israel is witnessing now. The ongoing Nakba, and perhaps the recent decision issued by the United Nations General Assembly to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba in 2023 for the first time officially in the Assembly Hall as a high-level event, and the invitation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to deliver a speech on this occasion, is considered one of the most prominent indicators of that.
In the end, this article confirms that if the new international order stands on its feet, its superpowers that form its leadership will not be more Palestinian than the Palestinians, which requires the Palestinians, at least, to prevent Israel and its partners from achieving additional successes at this stage of the transformation of the system. Al-Dawli, making the required changes according to what the Almighty says in Surat Al-Ra’d: 11 {Indeed, God does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves}.
