And they did not kill him or crucify him, but it was likened to them
The prisoner, the fighter Sheikh Khader Adnan, was martyred on 2/5/2023 during his open hunger strike for 86 days against his arbitrary arrest at the hands of the Zionist occupation state, and it was harsh and deadly days, the narrow solitary cell in which he was martyred turned into a grave and a funeral home, alone with drops Few waters, grains of salt, and starving wishes. Death agonized several times. Death flew away, then returned carrying a heavenly veil, and slowed down a lot. Perhaps free life would suggest another time for Sheikh Khadr to live, and the jailer, the iron, the murderer, and the oblivion to withdraw.
For the first time death cries, he sits in front of the sheikh writing a will slowly, he wipes his blood and wets his lips and wakes him up from the repeated coma, and he tells him I will wait a little bit, perhaps the International Red Cross delegation will arrive now, perhaps the United Nations will move and wake up to save a person who defends human justice, perhaps there are those He will come to provide protection and safety and to bring Sheikh Khader out of the trap of myths and Zionist machinations that are firmly set around him. Death sought the help of all available possibilities, but the darkness is thick and thick, gasps rising and falling, cold silence in the body and the wall, the world became mute until tears choked under the surface of words.
Sheikh Khader Adnan was victorious in his life and in his death. Death is life in Palestine. There is no bargaining over freedom and dignity. There are no negotiations even if they uproot your body from the place. Khader turned into a people in an individual and a fedayeen in a battalion. What is this saint who is guarded by stubborn wills and the verses of the Most Merciful?
Death was perplexed when he saw the angels, clouds, and birds carrying Sheikh Khadr to the seven heavens. The jailers mobilized, the doors were pulled down, and a state of emergency was declared in all parts of the occupying state. Sheikh Khadr triumphed, but Ben Ghafir and the fascist religious Zionism did not. He is received by angels, prophets, imams, fedayeen, and holy books. Jerusalem, Jenin, Nablus, Gaza, songs and the land of poetry receive him.
The Zionist state deliberately killed Sheikh Khader Adnan. All its evil forces allied against him. The executioners, the intelligence apparatus and the government gathered together and mobilized all means of repression and death. They said this Palestinian rejects imprisonment, humiliation and slavery. This Palestinian rejects our racist legislation and laws. This Palestinian rebels and refuses to deal with our discriminatory military courts. This Palestinian shakes the pillars of our prisons and our state, neutralizes our most powerful weapon in the world, and penetrates our nuclear arsenal. This Palestinian shakes our being with the chains that tie his feet and hands. This Palestinian has a prophecy that heralds our demise from this land, drowning in sin, corruption, and criminality, and a deep descent into apartheid and the abyss.
The Zionist state killed Sheikh Khader Adnan premeditatedly, execution and liquidation, a state that is afraid of this school, the school of those who return to their first words and the brightness of the sun in meaning and language, the school of the present absentees defending their presence on earth, sky, history and identity, the school of generations that searches for lessons and quarantine for her next life.
They killed Sheikh Khader Adnan, as if they wanted to kill every hero, symbol, and victim in us. They wanted to kill every uprising, donation, and demonstration. Sheikh Khader besieged the occupiers in prison and all over the world. He became a universal humanitarian message, the voice of the Palestinian people that reached all international platforms and institutions, the voice of thousands. Prisoners languishing in the heavy years of life, the sick, the handicapped and those with chronic diseases, the sound of slow time in dark cells and cellars, the voice of a people who seek, thirst and die for justice, peace and freedom.
The Zionist state killed Sheikh Khader Adnan in cold blood. They realized that the Sheikh had turned into a novel that clashed and refuted their imaginary myths. A prisoner who establishes a different consciousness and embodies the culture of resistance. He refuses submission and defeat. He possesses weapons that they do not possess. Hunger, patience, hope and prayer. He calls the call to prayer in the mosque and rings the ears of the church. It is present everywhere, in the street, at home, in marches and demonstrations.
Death sitting in the cell is convinced that this dead man is still alive. Here he is writing his will:
In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Compassionate: (Those who believe will have no fear, nor will they grieve, and God will not grant the unbelievers a way against the believers, and it is our right to help the believers). My bones and my strength have weakened from my prison in Ramla, the beloved and authentic Palestinian city.
Death became convinced that there is a supernatural power in this man crucified on the death stake, the power of the ancient Palestinian cities, the power of the sea, the wind and the olive trees planted in the deep earth, the power of thought and will that were not subject to shackles and fences, the power of the Palestinian prisoner who creates freedom with beauty, love, hope and a free life.
The captive, Khader Adnan, was martyred. He descended from the cross freely, an overwhelming light that lifted him into space. He did not die and did not perish when he was stained with steadfastness, blood and pride.
And God Almighty believed when He said: (And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them).
