An unpublished novel by Gabriel García Márquez is released in 2024

An unpublished novel by Gabriel García Márquez will be released on the market in 2024 to mark the tenth anniversary of the death of the Colombian novelist who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982, according to what the publishing house "Random House" announced.

The publishing house indicated in a statement that the new book by the author of “One Hundred Years of Solitude” and “Love in the Time of Cholera” will be available “in 2024 in the markets of various Spanish-speaking countries except for Mexico” and “its publication will certainly constitute the most important literary event for the year 2024.”

The narration titled "We Meet in August" represents the fruit of the writer's "last efforts" to continue writing despite the difficulties, according to what the statement quoted from his sons Rodrigo and Gonzalo García Barca.

Writer and journalist Gabriel García Márquez, born on March 6, 1927 in the city of Aracataca, in northern Colombia, has a large number of short stories and novels.

The Cervantes Institute indicates that Marquez is the most translated Spanish novelist whose work has been translated since the beginning of the twenty-first century, ahead of the Chilean Isabel Allende, the Argentine Jorge Luis Borges, and the Peruvian Mario Vargas Llosa, who also won the Nobel Prize.
