Arrival of evacuation ships for Palestinian citizens from Khartoum to Jeddah

Today, Friday, the Consulate of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah announced the arrival of the second batch (37), which carries Palestinian students and citizens coming from Sudan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


She added that the first batch arrived yesterday, the number (31), who were received by a delegation from the competent government agencies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs branch in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, the head of the Protocol Department, the commander of the western region of the Saudi forces, and the consular staff in Jeddah and Ali. They were headed by Ambassador Mahmoud Al-Asadi, who checked on them and congratulated them on their safe arrival.


Ambassador Al-Asadi confirmed that, based on the directives of President Mahmoud Abbas, and the committee in charge of following up the evacuation procedures formed by the Palestinian security and sovereign services, the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Riyadh and the Consulate of the State of Palestine in Jeddah made intensive contacts with the crisis cell of the competent government agencies in Saudi Arabia in order to receive citizens from Khartoum to Jeddah. He stressed the cooperation of the Saudi authorities by providing transportation and housing insurance for them.


Al-Asadi conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas, and thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, king, government and people, for this noble honor and the unsurprising efforts of our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its keenness to secure the exit of the Palestinians from Sudan, and overcoming all obstacles until their safe return to their families and relatives in the homeland.


The ambassador confirmed the continuation of the work of the Crisis Management Cell at the Consulate of Palestine in Jeddah, in cooperation with the Palestinian competent authorities and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and our embassies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Egypt, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to complete the reception of other groups coming from Port Sudan to the naval base in Jeddah, and to work on Their evacuation to the homeland, and to other destinations through the lands of Jordan and Egypt.
