Qatar University concludes the National Mishkat Quranic Competition for Universities

The Mishkat Holy Quran Club affiliated to the Student Activities Department at Qatar University concluded the Mishkat National Quranic Competition for Universities, which is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, sponsored by Urid and supported by Padel In. This competition aims to encourage students to memorize the Book of God Almighty. 250 male and female students from various universities participated in it, 127 from the girls’ category, and 95 from the boys’ category.

The closing ceremony was attended by: His Excellency Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al-Derham, President of Qatar University, Dr. Iman Mustafawi, Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Diab, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, a number of officials in the student affairs sector, and some officials in The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mr. Sabah Al-Kuwari, Director of Public Relations Department at Urid Company, and a large number of students and professors from Qatar University.

In his speech on this occasion, Abdullah Hamed Al-Mulla, Director of Student Activities Department, said: This competition was an opportunity for our male and female students at the level of Qatar who are keen to memorize the Qur’an, reflect on it and memorize its meanings, and who competed with each other and qualified for the final rounds. On this occasion, I would like to express my great admiration for all the participants.

And he stressed that preserving the Holy Qur’an is one of the greatest acts of worship that a person can perform, calling on them to continue this great work, and to cooperate in providing qualitative student initiatives that help preserve our social, cultural and religious heritage.

For his part, student Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Adaimi, President of Mishkat Club for the Holy Qur’an, said: It is God’s grace that the Mishkat National Qur’anic Competition for Qatar Universities was at the beginning of this year an idea, and today we see it as a reality, but today we are at the end of this competition. Blessed and honored with the people of the Qur’an wherever they are and travel, and God is proud of honoring and crowning them, and that is nothing but an honor for what they carry in their chests, but I say that the real winner is not the one who won and reaped the prizes, but the one who rose in this Qur’an.

The winners of the boys’ category were honored in the two-part category. The student Amer Abdulaziz won the first place, while the student Mubarak Abdul Hameed won the second place, and the student Abdul Rahman Ali won the third place. In the 10-part category, the student Asa Saleh Al-Zanki won. In the second place, the student Muhammad Abu Al-Fotouh, while the student Abdulaziz Al-Awar won the third place. As for the category of 20 parts, Abu Al-Hassan Abdul-Khaleq, the first winner of the Mishkat competition, won the first place, and the student Nasir Hafez Maulana won the second place, and the student Moamen Al-Hasani came in the third place. The outstanding performance was won by the student Muhammad Baligh Al-Din, and the winning students will be honored in a separate ceremony after the blessed Eid Al-Fitr holiday. The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the co-custodians of the Ministry of Awqaf were also honored, and the sponsors and supporters of the competition were honored, and prizes were drawn at the end of the ceremony.
