American actor Jamie Foxx was admitted to the hospital due to “medical complications”, but he is in the process of recovering, according to what his family announced, without giving additional details.

And CNN reported that the 55-year-old actor is under medical observation at a hospital in the US state of Georgia, where he is currently filming a movie for Netflix.

His daughter, Corinne Fox, wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, "My father, Jamie Foxx, had medical complications yesterday," and, "Fortunately, thanks to prompt intervention and high-quality medical care, he is in the process of recovery."

And “CNN” indicated that the medical emergency occurred outside the framework of filming the new “Black in Action” movie from Netflix, in which Fox is co-starring with Cameron Diaz.

And the "TMZ" website, which specializes in celebrity news, stated that the actor's family, some of whose members were not with him, considered that his condition was serious enough to transfer him to the hospital.

But Fox "is able to communicate now, and this is good news," according to what the website quoted, citing an unnamed source.

The actor's agents did not immediately respond to questions from AFP.

During his career, Jamie Foxx won, in particular, an Oscar in 2004 for his remarkable performance of the character of singer Ray Charles, the legend of soul music, in the biopic "Ray".

He was also nominated for an Oscar for his role in the movie “Collectoral” in the same year, and he was imprinted in the minds recently through his performance as a slave who yearns for freedom in the Western movie “Django Unchained” by Quentin Tarantino.
