A 6.3-magnitude earthquake strikes off the coast of Panama in the Pacific Ocean

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the Pacific coast of Panama on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey said, with no immediate reports of deaths or damage.

The agency said the quake was relatively shallow and occurred at a depth of 12 km.

For its part, the Civil Protection Agency in Panama "Sinabruk" announced that the magnitude of the earthquake reached 6.7 degrees and struck 72 km from the coast, where it was felt by most of the population of the Central American country, but no deaths or damage were reported.

The earthquake shook most parts of Panama, including the capital, Panama City, which raised concerns among the residents of the city, which includes dozens of skyscrapers.
