Chen Jiazhang , an official with the Ministry of Science and Technology , said on Monday that China is actively promoting computing network construction.

The ministry has always attached great importance to the development of digital technology and has made systematic arrangements in core technology, new technology application and digital security, among others, Chen said at a press conference in Beijing.

Chen noted that the ministry hopes to provide strong support for digitization across the country.

In the development of intelligent technology, the ministry has established a special office for planning and promoting artificial intelligence and launched the new generation of major artificial intelligence projects.

In order to deal with potential risks and problems in the development of artificial intelligence, Chen said, the ministry has formulated and promulgated principles and ethics for managing the new generation of artificial intelligence so as to promote the progress of science and technology for the benefit of mankind.

Chen also mentioned improvements in ensuring network security.
