Paris (dpa) - The opposition in France canceled a major part of a draft proposal on the Corona virus in the first reading of the National Assembly, in what is the first defeat for the government in the new parliament .

The draft was adopted today, Wednesday, but after much of it was deleted, and this is the first draft that the newly elected National Assembly will vote on.

The center camp, to which French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Elizabeth Bourne belong, lost an absolute majority in the National Assembly in the parliamentary elections held last June.

Today's vote shows how difficult it is for the government to win a majority in the National Assembly.

The draft was about maintaining some preventive measures against the Corona virus.

After the vote, Bourne tweeted that the situation was serious, saying the opposition would block any virus restrictions at the border.
