Bernard Arnault briefly topped the Forbes ranking of the world's richest people, ahead of Musk

Paris - (AFP) - French Bernard Arnault, CEO of the luxury group "LVMH" LVMH, and his family briefly ranked first Wednesday in the Forbes ranking of the world's largest fortunes, with $ 185 billion, ahead of American Elon Musk, head of Tesla and Spice. X and Twitter.

The 73-year-old French businessman and his family were briefly at the top of the ranking, which was published online, due to the decline in Musk's fortune, due to the sharp drop in Tesla shares Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange.

Bernard Arnault held the top spot in this ranking for a few hours in May 2021.

The French billionaire's fortune has soared recently thanks to improved results from LVMH, the world's leading luxury goods company whose net profit reached 12 billion euros in 2021.
