The album “72 Seasons” (“72 Seasons”) will be released on April 14, 2023, followed by a concert tour for the band in Amsterdam and Paris (Stade de France on May 17 and 19), Hamburg, Germany, and Sweden, according to two statements by the band and Live Nation Entertainment. The band, whose founders have been performing for 40 years, such as James Hetfield (59 years) and Danish Lars Orlik (58 years), indicated that it will perform two concerts at each station, with different shows during each night.

The band's twelfth album consists of 12 songs, including "Lux Aeterna", which was released on Monday, and is the first album released by "Metallica" after 2016.

James Hetfield explained that the album's title, "72 Seasons," refers to "the first eighteen years of our lives that make up our true or false selves."
