Taylor Swift to direct a feature film

Los Angeles - (AFP) - US production company Searchlight Pictures announced that a film project written and directed by US pop star Taylor Swift is in the works.

"Taylor is a one-of-a-kind artist and author, and it's a real honor and pleasure to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting new creative journey," Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield said in a statement.

The 32-year-old singer is no stranger to the seventh art, as she previously wrote and directed a short film entitled “All Too Will: The Short Film,” which won the MTV Video Music Awards and was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Short Film category.

Last September, the star announced at the Toronto Film Festival that she would like to direct a film.

"I would love to have the right opportunity because I love telling stories in this way," she said.

This year, Swift entered the history of American music, with ten songs from her tenth album, “Midnights”, which was released on October 21, occupying all the top ten positions in the “Billboard Hot 100” arrangement, in a precedent of its kind.
