"The French" discusses the possibility of prosecuting the occupation police for assaulting Abu Aqelah's funeral

Jerusalem - "Jerusalem" dot com - The management of the French Hospital in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, east of occupied Jerusalem, said that it is studying the possibility of prosecuting the Israeli occupation police after its attack on the sanctity of the hospital and the funeral of martyr Sherine Abu Aqelah.

Today, Monday, the management of the French Hospital presented, during a press conference, a video clip showing the occupation police storming the hospital and assaulting the patients and medical staff, the body of the martyr journalist Sherine Abu Aqleh, and the general mourners present at the moment the coffin was removed from the hospital last Friday.

And she emphasized that the occupation police attack on the funeral procession of the martyr Sherine Abu Aqleh is a violation of humanitarian laws, stressing that the police is "the only party that practiced violence during Sherine's funeral."

And she denounced the occupation police storming the hospital buildings, indicating that she is seriously looking for the possibility of prosecuting the occupation police after their attack on the hospital, and that she contacted a law firm to discuss filing a complaint against the occupation regarding what happened during the funeral of journalist Abu Aqelah.

The French hospital administration stressed that the force of law must prevail to hold accountable those responsible for the attack on the hospital, the coffin of Sherine Abu Aqelah and the mourners, considering that the actions of the occupation police were not preceded by any provocation, and that what happened cannot be justified.

It also condemned these irresponsible measures taken by the Israeli occupation police against the hospital and its staff.

The director of the French hospital, Jamil Koussa, said in an interview with "Wafa": "At exactly one thirty in the afternoon on Friday, the Israeli occupation police officers approached the entrance of the main hospital. The representative of the European Union and the French consul and I spoke with the responsible officer, and his answer was clear to us, I will not allow With flags and chants, I will not allow the coffin to go out except by car and after the mourners refused, and within a few minutes the hospital was stormed from its main gate by the police forces.

He added, "Thirty-one years ago, when I was the director of this hospital, I did not witness such violence as the Israeli police dealt with on that day. There was no reason for this violence, and it was directed towards the coffin bearers and against the mourners who did not confront the police with any violent behavior."

In turn, Anton Abu Aqleh, the brother of the martyr Sherine Abu Aqleh, said: “It was a barbaric attack during the funeral of the martyr. This attack, and the destruction of the funeral procession, is as if they are preparing for a battle.” I hope that these aggressors will be held accountable in international courts.

Yesterday, Sunday, the French Hospital organized a protest against the assassination of journalist Sherine Abu Aqleh, and the attack on her funeral procession in the hospital yard.

Last Friday, the occupation soldiers brutally beat the mourners of the funeral of fellow martyr Al-Jazeera correspondent, Sherine Abu Aqelah, in occupied Jerusalem.

The assault affected the coffin bearers of the martyr, until he almost fell to the ground, while the occupation police officers continued their assaults on the mourners by beating them.

The occupation forces stormed the campus of the French Hospital in occupied Jerusalem while removing the coffin of the martyr, in preparation for her burial ceremony.
