LOS ANGELES (AFP) - The 91-year-old media mogul Rupert Murdoch has officially divorced his fourth wife, American model Jerry Hall, after six years together, Hall's lawyer told AFP Thursday.

Lawyer Judy Bowler confirmed that Murdoch and Hall "remain good friends and wish each other the best for the future."
Murdoch, whose fortune is estimated by Forbes magazine at $17 billion, and Hall, were married in March 2016 in London.

The New York Times, which revealed the news of the divorce last June, citing two well-informed sources whose identities were not disclosed, stated that this step had no consequences for his international media empire, News Corp, given that Murdoch and Hall signed a prenuptial contract.

Murdoch, through his News Corp group, owns hundreds of media outlets, especially in the United States, where his companies control the conservative “Fox News” station, the “Wall Street Journal” economic newspaper, and the “New York Post” newspaper affiliated with the American right. He is also the owner of the newspapers "The Sun" and "The Times" of London and a number of newspapers in Australia.

Keith Rupert Murdoch's first marriage to Australian air hostess Patricia Booker lasted from 1956 to 1967, then he remained married for more than 30 years, until 1999, to British journalist Anna Mann, who, according to the press at the time, earned more than a billion dollars after their divorce.

Then, a few days later, the billionaire married a Chinese businesswoman, Wendy Deng, who graduated from Yale University, and stayed with her until their divorce in New York in 2013.

Murdoch has six children from his marriages, and his fourth wife, Jerry Hall, who is also an actress, is the mother of four children she gave birth to from the leader of the "Rolling Stones" Mick Jagger.
