Kanye West hints at his candidacy for the 2024 US presidential election

Washington - (AFP) - Rapper Kanye West, mired in a series of problems, has hinted that he intends to run for the 2024 US presidential elections, confirming that he offered former President Donald Trump to be a candidate for his vice presidency.

The singer, who changed his name to "Yi", posted a series of videos on his Twitter account on Thursday night and Friday, accompanied by the slogan "Yi 24".

In one of these clips, West, 45, referred to a conversation he had with Trump, who himself announced his candidacy for the 2024 election.

"I asked him to be the vice president," Yi said, emphasizing that Trump "was yelling" at him. And the feisty singer in the worlds of music and fashion had previously surprisingly run for the 2020 elections, but he only got 70,000 votes.

And the forty-fifth president of the United States confirmed on Friday that he had dinner with the rap star at his residence in Florida, but described his meeting with him as "quick" and "quiet."

Trump then clarified that they had a "talk of politics", adding, "I told him he should never run for president and that 'every electorate he might have should vote for Trump'."

The black singer was recently criticized for wearing a T-shirt that read "White Lives Matter" during Paris Fashion Week.

This slogan, used by the American far-right, is an amendment to the name of the "Black Lives Matter" movement, which fights against racism against African Americans. The star also posted comments on Instagram and Twitter that were deemed anti-Semitic.

And the German sports equipment manufacturer, Adidas, announced Thursday that it had opened an independent investigation into “allegations” of inappropriate behavior against a number of its employees from Kanye West, with whom the company recently cut off its cooperation in the manufacture of Yeezy shoes.

This investigation is related to what was reported by the American “Rolling Stones” magazine, quoting former officials of “Yeeze” and “Adidas”, that the behavior complained of ranged from acts of intimidation, displaying pornographic material to employees during meetings, discussing pornographic topics,

In addition to “Adidas”, several other companies cut ties with the singer, including the “Balenciaga” fashion house, the American “Gap” ready-to-wear company, and the “CAA” agency that manages his business, while the production company “MRC” announced Cancellation of a documentary that deals with West, which has already been filmed.
