New York - (dpa / TCA) - The second trial of US film industry mogul Harvey Weinstein on charges of sexual assault begins on October 10.

Weinstein, 70, was deported to Los Angeles last summer after being convicted of rape and sexual assault in New York a year earlier. He was sentenced to 23 years in prison.

In California, Weinstein was charged with four counts of rape and seven counts of sexual assault, involving five different women.

In addition, several women who have accused Weinstein of sexual assault but are not involved in the case will be allowed to testify against him in California, Rolling Stone reported. This was also allowed in the New York trial, where the judges in both trials felt that the "bad deeds" associated with the case could help the jury understand Weinstein's personality.
