The Mediterranean sea swallows more immigrant Gazans

Gaza - Report by "Al Quds" dot com - The families of 14 young Palestinians living in the southern Gaza Strip are going through difficult hours, after losing contact with their expatriate children, at the beginning of this month, when they were trying to immigrate to Europe across the Mediterranean.

There were conflicting information about the number of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip who were on board the boat, which was carrying dozens of Palestinian refugees in Syria, and of other nationalities, until it sank after it sailed for several miles.

According to the Palestinian embassy in Tunisia , 4 bodies of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip have been identified so far, and many are still missing, indicating that it is following up with the competent authorities on the possibility of transferring the recovered bodies to the Strip, along with the file of the missing.

And the four bodies that were thrown out by the Mediterranean Sea belong to the young men: Adam Muhammad Shaath, Moqbel Majdi Ateem, Younis Haidar Al-Shaer, Muhammad Mahjoub Abdullah.

Among the missing are two brothers from the Al-Shaer family, as family sources told Al-Quds.com.

The families of the drowned said, in separate interviews with Al-Quds.com, that the last contact with their immigrant children was on the fourth of this month, and they were all preparing to immigrate to Italy, and since then the contact with them has been cut off.

Amir Qeshta, the brother of one of the missing youths, said that his brother, along with a group of young men, all of whom are between the ages of (19 to 22 years), decided to migrate from Gaza to search for a better future for them in light of the difficult living conditions that the residents of the Strip live in, the lack of job opportunities, and the unknown future. that surround their lives.

And Qishta said in an interview with our correspondent: The young men left the Gaza Strip last March, heading to Egypt, where they continued to be present for a month, and from there they moved to Libya, where they continued to wait until the beginning of this month until they had the opportunity to obtain a boat that would enable them to migrate. To Italy, especially since there are large numbers of immigrants waiting their turn to migrate by sea.

And that the young men sailed from the coast of the Mediterranean off the Libyan " Sabratha ", before the boat sank off the Tunisian coast on the way to Italy.

He pointed out that the fate of his brother and a group of young men is still unknown, and they are waiting to know the fate of their sons.

A few days ago, a boat that left Turkey towards Greece sank, which led to the death of two other young men from the Gaza Strip, who were trying to reach Europe in search of a safe future. However, the inevitable fate of drowning in the Mediterranean Sea was faster for them than their life. They hope you smile at them.

During the years, the Gaza Strip experienced many tragedies that prompted many citizens, especially young men, to search for emigration. The Mediterranean Sea off the coasts of Egypt, Libya and others swallowed up dozens of bodies of Gazans, including entire families of men, women and children.
