Nassar Taqatqa.. The captive's body is awaiting his return home

Bethlehem - "Jerusalem" dot com - Naguib Farrag - 28 days was the interval between the young Nassar Taqatqa catching his breath quietly and growing up in a quiet life, and becoming a lifeless corpse.

With these words, Hajja Yusra Taqatqa, the mother of the young Nassar, summed up her condition, nearly 3 years after his arrest and martyrdom in the cells, and until this moment, his body remained with these occupation forces.

The martyr’s mother says from her modest home in the town of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, that a large Israeli military force stormed the family’s house at dawn on the nineteenth of June 2019, to arrest Nassar, which was the first arrest in his life, and they did not have any accurate information about his whereabouts. And his status, as they were told once that he was in the Moscow Compound investigation, and once in Nitzan isolation, and another time in Al-Jalama, and at that time the lawyer was not able to visit him, without any news about him.

The mother added, in an interview with Al-Quds.com, two days before his martyrdom, the soldiers stormed his empty apartment, which he had prepared to have a family in, while it was far from the family home. Only after we informed the neighbors of what happened, and we were shocked by the scene due to the extent of the destruction caused by the storming, which appeared as if it was only part of a revenge operation.

Two days after the raid - the seventeenth of July 2019 - we received the news of the martyrdom, but not in an official way. A number of family and relatives came who had heard about the news of the martyrdom in the various media and hesitated to inform me of the news, which was leaked slowly and with great caution, until it spread without knowing any reasons. This is clear, and amid conflicting accounts as to whether he contracted pneumonia or was subjected to torture.

The grieving mother wonders: "What inflammation are they talking about when he was not suffering from any disease?! He is a young man in the prime of his life and he was a hard worker in his work with a stone saw and was regular and was preparing to hold his engagement in preparation for his marriage, so he was arrested and then assassinated and tortured in this way. He was killed unjustly and aggressively in the occupation cells.

The mother indicates that the family has not yet received any official reports about the cause of death and the details of what happened, noting that what increases her pain is the continued detention of his body for all these years.

She says, "I want my son to go back to bury him next to his father and be relieved of all this fatigue and anxiety. We do not know where he is now, is he in a refrigerator for the dead or in the tombs of numbers, and why do they deal with us in this vengeful way... They do not punish the body because Nassar has They took life from him.. They are punishing me, because this relationalism is an aggressive mentality that refuses to return his body to us so that we can bury him and honor him in his death.”

Yusra Taqatqa appealed to all parties and officials to intervene in order to return her son Nassar to her, before she lost her life due to diseases that she suffered, such as pressure, diabetes, arteries, joints, and others.

For her part, her 24-year-old daughter Suha, who came to visit her mother to take care of her, said that she did not want to leave her mother alone, especially since the house became empty after Nassar's death, and her three other children live in their own homes.

Suha says: "My mother is like a mother and a father together after my father died in 2006, and I endured difficult circumstances in order to raise us, and I worked in sewing and trade, as my father's stage of cancer and standing by him in hospitals for many years was not easy, and then his death, so I faced tasks." It was huge until she was able to overcome it, and she could hardly catch her breath until we were shocked by Nassar's martyrdom."

She added: "Today, she almost does not leave the house, and she is waiting for the body without a horizon. Even when she got married a year after Nassar's martyrdom, she did not attend my wedding, and she did not attend my brother's wedding either. ".

She wondered: "We do not know why his body was seized after he was tortured and killed? And there are those who say that handing over the body is linked to any exchange deal with Hamas, even though my brother was not affiliated with Hamas. They want to punish us even after his martyrdom."

According to statistics published by the Palestinian Ministry of Information last April, it showed that the Israeli occupation authorities are still holding the bodies of 105 martyrs in refrigerators, in addition to 256 martyrs in number graves, including 9 children, 3 martyrs, and 8 prisoners who spent different periods in the occupation prisons.
