PALESTINE

Tue 07 Jan 2025 8:28 am - Jerusalem Time

Welcome to the Support Committee!

Support is absent from Gaza at the moment when they need it most, as people die individually and collectively, morning and evening, from murder, hunger and freezing cold in the streets and roads, in homes and tents, in hospitals, and among the lines of the hungry in front of what remains of the charitable hospices.

But the sun of “support,” with its false warmth, did not set for a moment on the chatterboxes searching for roles and tasks, amidst the rubble of buildings, and the wreckage of schools, universities, and hospitals.

The "talk of slander" is back in circulation again about forming support committees, and others for reconstruction and removing rubble, while the occupiers continue to impose harsh facts with brute force; they kill, destroy, starve, burn, blow up, and arrest, without anyone moving to stop the massacre, or providing what would keep the victim alive.

Representatives of the Authority and Hamas arrived in Cairo yesterday to discuss the roles, tasks, personalities, references, salaries and budgets of the Support Committee. These are tasks that successive governments have always undertaken before and after the division.

People do not need a support committee whose roles are undertaken by municipalities and service committees in the camps. People need a single, unified government that assumes tasks and responsibilities under the umbrella of authority, representing all colors of the national spectrum, without quotas, disputes, outbidding, or political intrigues, born from years of loss and hostility that led us to the catastrophes that befell us.

People need support today, not the “next day,” which only God knows when it will be.

How many wise decisions have lost their effectiveness, due to the early or late date of their adoption?! There is something in politics called the "historical moment". Yesterday was early, tomorrow is late.

Stop the genocide now...!
