Tough year

A difficult year has passed that was unlike any other, as it witnessed many local and regional transformations, as well as the continuation of the war of extermination in Gaza until its final days. While we were pinning our hopes on an agreement and a deal to stop this extermination, Netanyahu’s arrogance has thwarted all negotiations so far, placing obstacles in the way of all proposals, and he insists on continuing the war of extermination and not stopping it, in his desire to achieve the image of victory that he has been searching for for fourteen months, amidst the rubble of demolished homes and the great destruction that has befallen the Strip, and among the remains of young and old, and in scenes of extermination and mass killing, hunger, thirst, and the ongoing siege.

A difficult year that swept the entire region and brought tragedies. Its woes were particularly severe on Gaza, with all its people, trees and stones, as nothing remained in Gaza that indicated that life was possible on its land, and Gaza became bereaved by its fates, oppressed and wronged amidst the ongoing war and comprehensive genocide, as this massacre did not stop for a day, and the bombing operations did not stop for an hour, but rather escalated at a terrifying pace, concentrated in recent months on the north of the Strip, and what accompanied it of collapses on other fronts, especially the collapse of Hezbollah and the rule of Bashar al-Assad and his shameful and sudden escape, and Netanyahu’s encroachment and his intoxication from Mount Hermon and beyond, and the occupation government’s arrogance over all international laws and conventions, and its persistence in this bloody fascist manner, and this terrorist doctrine and its principles based on killing, destruction, ethnic cleansing and bloodshed, and accelerated Judaization and plans for annexation and settlement erosion, and this is a year in which the fates of the people were unknown, between anticipation and death, between hunger and siege, between cold, fear and terror, and the chapters of continuous displacement.

A difficult year that brought with it great challenges that have swept the Palestinian cause and continue to do so, with dangers from all sides, the war of ethnic cleansing, the plans of the occupation government based on settlement expansion, Judaization, and pushing the Palestinians to emigrate and flee, through economic oppression and siege, the continuation of the war of extermination in Gaza, racist laws, military checkpoints, constant attacks, and the difficult and impossible reality that all people in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem live.

A difficult year is coming to an end, which has taken with it the dreams of many, snatched many lives, made people lose their passion for living, and burdened them with the reality of difficult days between the tents of the displaced and the shelters. Until the last day, it continues its cycle with the same difficulty, cruelty, and pain. There is nothing in it that suggests that the coming year will be different. Rather, it seems that it will not be less suffering, and will not bring good tidings of breakthroughs. As long as the form of the occupation government is this racist, and this combination of extremism, its bloody approach cannot change. Therefore, the coming year carries continuous and connected dangers with the dangers of this year, which passed with its calamities, bloodiness, and ugly war.

A year has passed and a year has gone by and Gaza is bleeding, and the massacre is living in all its bloodiness and ugliness. Who will stop this massacre? When will the world move, when will the human conscience awaken, when will the international organizations break their silence, and when will American bias and support stop?
