Division establishes demarcation
The map of change in Syria began to appear very quickly, after the opposition forces continued to control major cities. After Aleppo, Hama, Idlib, and Quneitra, Daraa, and Sweida in the south, the ambition of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, one of the main arms influencing the opposition’s approach, became to reach Damascus, where most of the Syrian regular army forces are entrenched. However, a large number of officers, soldiers, and their families fled to Iraq after they laid down their weapons, which will help the opposition in a possible rapid control of the capital, and thus the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime after 24 years in power.
The initial signs and features of the collapse appear through the absence of an effective Russian role due to preoccupation with the Ukrainian war, in addition to the exit of Hezbollah and Iran from the Lebanese and Syrian arenas, which establishes new facts led by the process of dividing Syria, in light of the absence of any political horizon at this stage to put an end to this overwhelming chaos, while emphasizing that the United States, despite the statements of its President-elect Trump that the conflict in Syria is an internal affair, is one of the most concerned with preserving its role in Syria, and raising its pace to the point of dominance, and this is what the leader of the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham indicated when he said that there is no need for the presence of foreign forces in Syria, unless it serves the supreme interests of the country, and the question that arises here is: When was the presence of American forces in Syria for the sake of supreme interests?
The United States and Israel are seeking a complete demarcation plan for the Middle East, and they have always planned for this. After the Israeli war on Lebanon stopped, the spark of the Syrian opposition, which is partially directed by the United States, Israel and Turkey, came to start armed military conflicts, in order to eliminate the Syrian regime, and start a process of division supervised by politicians, to ultimately serve the interests of the new Middle East that targets all the goals of the region, as Israeli media outlets clearly say that the collapse of the Assad regime will create dramatic changes in the Middle East.
It seems that the calculations in the threshing floor are not like the calculations in the field for Israel, because the presence of more than one force in the Syrian conflict forced Israel to move and define its main red lines, foremost of which is not crossing the ceasefire line signed in 1974 by the opposition forces and preventing the arrival of Iranian militias to Syria. Israel threatened that if one or more of them were crossed, it can be estimated that it will act offensively in this arena and not just defensively, according to the Israeli threats.
Following the rapid developments, Israel was forced to send large forces to the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. It seems that it is very concerned about the possibility of opposition forces and revolutionaries penetrating the Golan, as it decided to monitor their movements in order to prevent the Syrian army’s ammunition stockpiles from reaching the opposition, with the aim of preventing them from being used against it in the future. In addition, Iran has threatened to prevent the Syrian regime from being armed, and it seeks to support the Kurds and its allies, and to ensure the stability of Jordan, which Israel claims is a top priority for it.
In light of these goals, it can be said that the Israeli role will not be limited to what it describes as defense, but will go beyond that to attack, as Israel is accustomed to stirring up problems, anxiety and tensions in the region. There is no doubt that Syria today is the target and the biggest victim under the scissors of the Israeli censor, which seeks to divide, supported by the United States and Turkey, in a conspiracy against the Arab identity of Syria, by pushing a destructive project implemented by the opposition forces. If Damascus falls, other Arab and Islamic capitals may fall into Israel’s trap, plans and conspiracies, all for the sake of demarcating a new Middle East that is consistent with the Israeli policy that the United States strongly supports.
