Israeli occupation forces arrest an injured person and assault the medical staff in Silwad
Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation forces stormed a medical center in the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah, and arrested an injured person.
The official news agency, Wafa, reported that the occupation forces stormed the town's medical center and arrested the young man, Musa Faraj, who is in his twenties, after removing his breathing apparatus while he was suffering from suffocation. They also assaulted the medical staff in the center by beating him.
It pointed out that clashes had erupted in the town, during which the occupation forces fired sound bombs and toxic gas, which led to a number of citizens suffering from suffocation.
In turn, the Ministry of Health condemned the occupation forces’ storming of the Silwad Emergency Center and tampering with its contents.
It pointed out that this attack is a violation of all international laws and conventions that stipulate the protection of treatment centers, staff and patients.
The Ministry renewed its urgent appeals to international institutions and the International Committee of the Red Cross to intervene immediately to stop the occupation's attacks on treatment centers and cadres, demanding immediate protection for the health system and all its components.
Last Wednesday, Israeli special forces "Musta'ribeen" kidnapped an injured person from inside the Arab Specialized Hospital in the city of Nablus, after they infiltrated one of the intensive care rooms, who had been injured as a result of a drone bombing of a vehicle near Tubas.
This is not the first time that the occupation forces have attacked hospitals and medical personnel. In every attack on Palestinian cities, the occupation forces besiege hospitals, obstruct the work of medical personnel, and prevent them from doing their duty.
At the end of January 2024, a special Israeli force, "Musta'ribeen", infiltrated Ibn Sina Hospital in the city of Jenin and assassinated three young men: the brothers Muhammad and Basil Ayman al-Ghazzawi, and Muhammad Walid Jalmana, noting that the martyr Basil was injured and receiving treatment in the hospital.
According to the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization has reported more than 600 attacks on health care facilities and workers in the West Bank, including health, since October 7, 2023.
