Two Palestinians arrested for allegedly carrying out a run-over attack near the town of Al-Khader
The Israeli army announced today, Tuesday, that its forces arrested two Palestinians on the pretext that they carried out a run-over operation near the town of Al-Khader, west of the city of Bethlehem, yesterday, in which two soldiers were injured among Israeli forces carrying out a military operation.
According to a statement by the Israeli army, its forces, police forces and the Shin Bet pursued two suspects who fled the scene of the attack on two soldiers, and that "the suspects surrendered themselves to the security forces, who arrested them" and transferred them to the Shin Bet to continue their investigation.
The statement added that two soldiers were moderately and slightly injured as a result of the run-over, and were taken to the hospital.
The Israeli army said in a statement yesterday that its forces were pursuing a Palestinian vehicle in the Bethlehem area in the occupied West Bank, claiming that it "broke through a military checkpoint and carried out a run-over operation" near the town of Al-Khader.
The Israeli army added that the vehicle withdrew from the scene, and said that "large forces are pursuing it and combing the area."
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation ("Kan 11") reported that the occupation army set up a military checkpoint near the town of Al-Khader as part of "field activity."
Local sources reported yesterday that the occupation forces sent military reinforcements to the area, closed some roads, and set up military checkpoints. The occupation forces also renewed their storming of the town of Al-Khader, and sent military reinforcements to the town, and were stationed around the Great Mosque, the Balou’ Triangle, the Old City, and the Gate.
The sources confirmed that the occupation forces "fired live bullets at vehicles and citizens, claiming to be chasing the perpetrator of a run-over attack on soldiers at the Balou' Triangle," and explained that "the town is now living under a tight siege with it being completely closed off, in addition to the occupation soldiers firing live bullets at anyone moving in the town."
