Al-Sisi: We will stand against all plans to liquidate the Palestinian cause

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stressed on Monday that his country will stand against all plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause, stressing its condemnation of the "systematic killing campaign being practiced against civilians in the Gaza Strip."

This came in a speech at the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh.

He added that the summit "comes amidst a very complex regional situation and ongoing aggression for more than a year on the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Lebanon, amid shameful silence and flagrant inability of the international community to carry out the minimum of its duties in the face of this serious threat to international peace and security."

He added, "Citizens in our Arab and Islamic countries, and all people of free conscience across the world, are asking, and they have every right to, about the usefulness of any talk about justice and fairness in light of what they see of the daily shedding of the blood of children, women, and the elderly."

He added: "We say it with complete frankness: The future of the region and the world is at a crossroads, and the unacceptable aggression taking place on Palestinian and Lebanese lands puts the entire international system at stake."

Al-Sisi stressed "Egypt's categorical condemnation of the systematic killing campaign being carried out against civilians in the Gaza Strip."

He stressed that "Egypt stands against all plans that aim to liquidate the Palestinian cause, whether through displacing the local civilian population, forcibly transferring them, or turning the Strip into an uninhabitable place... This is something we will not accept under any circumstances."

He added that "the necessary condition for achieving security and stability, and moving from a regional system whose essence is conflict and hostility... to another based on peace and development... is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital."
