Get out of your selfishness..!

Selfishness is a hateful, abhorrent, and annoying trait for oneself and others, because it is not limited to loving oneself, caring for oneself, and wishing everything for oneself, but rather because it does not look at others, does not feel with them, and does not sense their feelings, pains, and needs.

Selfishness is a characteristic that means individualism, self-love, and preoccupation with satisfying one’s desires only; which makes the individual deviate from the sound nature with which God created him, which is his existence with a group and interacting with it, loving good for it, and feeling with it in its good and bad times. Man is civil by nature and does not find himself except with the group and not with selfishness and self-centeredness, and he cannot get rid of his worries and fatigues except if he is with people who ease his pain, feel with him, and help him.

Moreover, no matter how powerful, wealthy, and intelligent a person is, he cannot achieve his goals alone, but rather needs others, to exchange opinions with them, and to cooperate with them. But unfortunately, the human being of this age no longer feels comfortable with his fellow human being, but rather is wary of him, although psychologists say that fear of others is an unjustified fear, and that selfishness and self-centeredness only bring its owner anxiety, distress and worry, and that the selfish person cannot feel happy while he is away from people, but only finds it if he belongs to the group, works with it, and achieves common goals with it. However, this does not mean that he does not enjoy solitude, because he needs from time to time to spend with himself, to gather himself, evaluate his actions, and stand on his strengths and weaknesses, and to be with his Lord also in his prayers and worship and contemplating His kingdom and His creations. However, this should not take a long time such that solitude becomes a habit that he practices, but he must return to his normal life and live with the group, whether with the mother, father, brothers, sisters, family, relatives, friends and acquaintances, or when doing charitable work, or participating in cultural events, sports and religious activities, since such activities It is what refreshes and pleases the soul, and it is what maintains health, wellness and happiness.

Unfortunately, selfishness, self-love, and wariness of people are all concepts promoted by hostile parties under the slogan of self-interest. By doing so, they do not want other peoples to live a normal, productive life, but rather to confuse and divide them, so that they remain alone in the field, although such parties are the same ones who teach their children to love teamwork, interact with others, and the necessity of achieving one goal that serves one society, one state, and one destiny. Hence, the so-called allies, economic blocs, NATO, and the joint defense strategy came about, so that they remain the strongest and dominant over the rest of the nations.

So, if we want to live a normal, productive life, we must ignite the human flame within us, and move away from selfishness and self-interest, by going outside of ourselves, and developing the faculty of loving others within us, and feeling their pains, worries and needs. We must free ourselves from self-love, so that we may live in spiritual union with other creatures and reach a state of enlightenment that helps us extend a helping hand to all who are in pain, hungry, sick or naked.

The more we understand and sympathize with others, the more we reach a level of humanity where we love everything that moves on the face of the earth, from plants, animals, and inanimate objects, because we realize that the hand of God that created us also created them, and no one has authority over another.

From here, we say again, let us get out of our selfishness, let us think of others, and let us work with the group, so that our situation improves and our mind is at ease.
