Palestinian Health warns of Israeli siege of hospitals in Jenin and Tulkarm

The Ministry of Health warned of the repercussions of the occupation's siege of Jenin and Tulkarm hospitals and its threats to storm them.

She added in a statement on Wednesday that dozens of patients are currently being treated in Jenin's governmental, civil and private hospitals, and that any storming of them is a direct threat to their lives and the lives of medical staff.

The Ministry directed all medical teams in Jenin Governorate to head to the nearest health center to support their fellow doctors in dealing with the emergency situation in the governorate, especially after the occupation bulldozed the roads surrounding the hospitals in the city, and to raise the level of readiness to serve our people.

She called on the international community and the Red Cross to intervene to protect medical institutions, at a time when the occupation forces are obstructing ambulances from reaching them, which puts the lives of patients and the injured at risk, which constitutes a flagrant violation of human rights, international humanitarian law and international human rights law.

The occupation forces had blocked the roads to Ibn Sina Hospital with earth mounds, and surrounded the Martyr Khalil Suleiman Hospital, and the headquarters of the Red Crescent and Friends of the Patients societies.
