Arab sources: Israeli concessions may lead to Hamas's approval of the deal..!
Informed sources told Lebanese news that yesterday's meetings included "concessions from the entity, which the mediators believe may lead to Hamas's approval of the deal. The talks continued for several hours and ended without an agreement between the two parties."
The entity rejected the proposals presented by the mediators to resolve the conflict issues, when the Zionist delegation claimed that it does not have sufficient authority to accept or reject the proposals, and that it should discuss them with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Despite this, today's round of talks is expected to continue with in-depth discussions with the Zionist delegation, after it meets with Netanyahu and returns with final answers to the proposed proposals.
The mediators' current efforts are focused on "returning to the previous agreement that Hamas agreed to, with minor changes, including a gradual and incomplete withdrawal from the Strip, in exchange for clear Zionist flexibility regarding the return of the displaced to the northern Strip."
Among what officials call “concessions” are “the gradual withdrawal of the entity from the Philadelphi corridor during the first phase of the agreement,” along with “a promise not to undertake any construction work on the corridor or attempts to change the status quo.” While the “land corridor” will allow Israeli army forces to move and access the area quickly.
The United States presented a revised proposal that will be discussed in detail in today’s meetings, and although “many details are already ready and awaiting Israel’s final response,” Cairo still refers to the “optimism” promoted by Washington about reaching an agreement soon as an attempt to benefit from American domestic politics before the presidential elections.”
As for the Rafah crossing, discussions on the subject reached the same conclusions as before, linking its reopening to the restoration of Palestinian control over it.
