Trump: Israel is small, is there a way to get more land?
Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has sparked another controversy with a statement about the size of Israel.
Trump said in his speech to the Jewish community at an event to launch the "Jewish Voices for Trump" coalition in America: "Is there a way to get more land for Israel, because it is 'small' on the map compared to other countries in the Middle East?"
It is noteworthy that Trump is considered a strong supporter of Israel and Netanyahu, and in recent days he has increased his communication with Jewish voters by promoting his support for Tel Aviv.
During an event on Thursday on anti-Semitism, Trump criticized the calls of current US President Joe Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris, which have continued for months for a ceasefire in Gaza.
"From the beginning, Harris has been tying Israel's hands behind its back, demanding an immediate ceasefire... She always demands a ceasefire," Trump said, adding that this "only gives Hamas time to regroup and launch another attack, similar to the October 7 attack."
He added: "I will give Israel the support it needs to win, but I want them to win quickly."
The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024, and is being contested by Donald Trump, a Republican, and Kamala Harris, a US vice president, against Joe Biden, a Democrat.
