Axios: Israel demands foreign mechanism to monitor Netzarim axis and control Philadelphi axis

American media reported on Sunday that the head of the Israeli Mossad, David Barnea, delivered an amended proposal for a ceasefire agreement to the United States, and left the Rome negotiations for Tel Aviv.

The American website Axios said that the head of Mossad was forced to leave Rome due to the Majdal Shams events, in which 12 people were killed in the occupied Golan.

The website added that the new Israeli proposal calls for the presence of a foreign mechanism to monitor the "Netzarim Axis" that the Israeli occupation army established to facilitate its access to its military targets, dividing the Gaza Strip into two parts.

The proposal also calls for Israeli control over the erasure of Philadelphia and changing the withdrawal sites in the first phase of the agreement, according to the American website.

The Israeli Proposal

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced today, Sunday, the return of Mossad chief David Barnea from the negotiations meeting in the Italian capital, Rome.

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office revealed that negotiations on the central issues will continue in the coming days.

On Saturday, Israel presented the United States with its updated proposal for a prisoner exchange deal and a ceasefire in Gaza, according to a senior Israeli official and two other sources who spoke to the Hebrew website Walla.

The proposal includes new demands from Prime Minister Netanyahu, according to the Hebrew website, which said that they include, in particular, the establishment of a monitoring mechanism that prevents the transfer of weapons from the southern Gaza Strip to its north.

Israeli security sources estimate that Hamas will not accept these new conditions, which could put the negotiations back at a dead end.
